I just started playing the original for the first time after playing the remake, and man it makes me appreciate the remake a lot more but damn I can’t lie I think the original is better

I like how the originals have you escape some enemy grabs by smashing their heads either by stepping on them or a kick to the face, the lack of that in these remakes is something I miss.

I've played both. The original is in my top 5 gaming experiences of all time, and they did such a great job with the remake, mainly in leaving alone what works, thoughtful expansions of Luis and Ashley's characters, and upgrading the action mechanics and of course the juicy graphics and sound. The later boss fights are better, too.

I just played the first hour of the game. If you are an old RE4 player you won't like: _no red laser from the getgo _massive shortage of ammo _enemies take more bullets to down

Remake is better in terms of gameplay mechanics, graphics, and more user friendly. The original is better in terms of story, character development, dialogue, and plot. The remake cut out so much details of what made re4 story plausible.

The only thing that really bothers me is counter the chainsaw with the knife 😂

I finished the remake just few days ago. Amazing job. Small differences into the game design and same game experience but evolved in every single way.

The only valid criticism would be the fact they removed the fact Leon was enjoying the entirety of the game, and the line "Women."

I a hundred percent percented both, and I think the gameplay is everything that's culminated of resident evil through out the years, it's absoulutley perfect. But the problems start rising with the story because some of the more important story beats are cut out, like all the radio transitions that displayed the charectors of Salazar and saddler, they were cut in favor of more scenes of Luis to make you care about him more and it was also dedicated to making th dynamic between ashley and leon much more fleshed out through interactions in gameplay. But in genral I don't know why they didn't just keep the everything from the orignal and add in the changes they made, it wouldve improved on perfection, also the u3 fight and crane game were cut, I'm still pissed about that not to mention the section on the back of the truck

I love re4 Have it on my ps3, I hate the remake. Got it for ps4 but I think I'm done with ps4. I prefer my ps3 and GameCube. I may be the only one, but I like the older consoles and games. Nfs most wanted for ps2 is my favorite game of all time 😅 Anyway ✌ y'all I'm in the re4 mood now.

Bruh most of this is because of today's social media. They can't accept even the slightest of gore without an attempt to cancel. If this game was made when the people were like how they were in 2005, then could've added all the cheesy dialogues and decapitation back. Edit: I played the game again, and found much cooler and more gory animations, and found some of the original too, so the gore and decapitation is fine, if not better in the remake👍🏻

When I first went against the chainsaw guy in the vr version I was shaking when he killed me but I used and RPG

They literally just rearranged things you’d run in to, like the dog for example; you think it’s no long in the game. NO, it just pops up at a later time vs near the beginning like we’re used to. I actually love that, changes things up; really makes it feel like a new game.

OG had better designs and models for the time. The remake feels like a fanmade project that was made over the course of 3 weeks.

The original RE4 is a complete game, the remake is, well its more horror styled, but my biggest disappointment was how the cutscenes were done. So quick, no buildup, nothing. For example the Lago scene, in the Old RE4 it builds up slow and you get a small gist of what’s waiting for you in that lake, but in the new version its just quick, the croc can even fly like a dolphin like brah. Both are different, but yeah I don’t think OG RE4 could ever be topped, it was just groundbreaking for a 2005 game. Literally the start of 2005 and they dropped that absolute masterpiece that I have replayed endlessly with my nephew

Actually, i love them both.. Capcom succeed in making 'remake' for a game, despite their kinda success with RE2 remake, but RE4 remake is something remarkable. Give us a nostalgic vibes, without changing the main plot too much, along with everything new and freshness, more realistic aspects, even better gameplay, more horror. It's like, even if I played the original like dozens times before, I still feel excited with 'what happened next' in the remake.. That's a success remake.

Leons original jacket is short cut, making leon look tall. With a slim waist. New jacket is long and bulky, making the character look stubby and unfit. Leons original jacket is cut like a womans jacket or a mens jacket from olden times but no one realizes this all these years. Mena jackets arent longcoats or short coats anymore, only weird rectangular boxy mid butt coats that hunch the back. And if you wear anything else youre a "weirdo". Ik bc i spend a long long long time studying leons character design. Same with his haircut, no one seems to understand it. But thats even harder to describe. I havent played re4 remake yet but im looking forward to it. I hope it doesn't have woke bullsht in it.

The only thing I don't like about classic resident evil 4 is that Leon looks like if he had super powers. I think the remake, makes him more human.

I mean the parrying is impossible , He can parry axes , Knife , Heavy weapons like , Scythes , Pitchforks etc , When all of that comes to real life. He would been gone , But Leon is Leon he can do almost anything. I'm not glazing or anything , Leon is my favorite video game character.

Honestly the biggest difference I can see here is that in the original, Leon keeps his gun in hand at the ready. Always held in a manner where it can be ready to fire the minute a threat may show. Something that makes sense with him having been a cop, as they always keep firearms ready when they know there is an active or possible threat in the area.

The only thing better that I see in Resident Evil 4 remake is in terms of graphics, appearance and some things like opening the doors, the enemies are faster, but in the rest I prefer the original.

I’m glad I didn’t grow up playing these games. I can’t be blinded by nostalgia, the remakes are awesome!

I watch the cutscene collections and thus forget how brutal the death scenes are. I am a little traumatized.

I have dumped 1000s of hours into the original RE4 on GameCube and later on the HD remaster, and I will say that I am enjoying this remake so much. Some things I was a little sad about being cut from the game, but over all I am having lots of fun. Some parts even scared the crap out of me, which is rare for games or movies to do. My favorite section was definitely the castle. It's so much spookier that the original and the atmosphere and red Zealots are very dark and foreboding. I'd personally give it an 8.5 or 9 out of 10. All around it's just a great remake of a legendary game.

But... There are no incendiary grenades. But.. There are no QTEs But... There are no bird nests But... THE GAME IS F* AWESOME!

I prefer the consistency of the original gameplay but the tone and story of the remake. Original is better for challenge runs and speedrunning, and the remake is more immersive and better for casual fun.

I might be nit-picking, but half the ladders can't be knocked down for some reason and enemies barely even flinch on harder difficulties after taking a magazine to the face. Considering the combat in the original was based on stunning enemies and following up with melee, this was aggravating.

Re4 remake is literally the greatest game that has been released in the last several years. That’s been the only game I’ve ever preordered besides Days Gone deluxe edition. Snatched that RE4 deluxe edition up quick as hell as soon as a preorder popped up in the Microsoft store. Bought the series s just for this game.

They also made clouds pants totally wrong in ff7 remake thats also like my only complaint. Clouds pants are a bulky and diamond shaped. Not puffy tear drop shaped tubes. And his boots are taller not ankle high. Leons original hair isnt a coconut messy bowlcut js. New leon isnt suave ✨
