I know everyone has already uploaded this kind of video, but this is my take. Since recording I have vastly improved with the character, but this was a quick showcase for anyone curious on how each character can be played.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the characters like this. I did great with Leon and Hunk, but I suck at Krauser because I still struggle with perfect parries and my pea brain can't identify when I should be using Luis's dynamite to get the most mileage out of him. Even though you don't really get anything in the remake, I'd love to have a perfect row of S++ ranks to brag about.

You can totally do it man, if you can do it with Leon and Hunk, then you're more than capable of getting the other 2 mercs S++ if you haven't already. They're just super unique and differ in playstyle from the standard flow of combat Leon abides by. Luis builds mayhem really fast so don't be too frugle with his metre, even right before boss rounds. And Krauser can do well with his TMP as well, so you don't need to live and die by his knife if counters aren't your playstyle, but it's good to practice those perfect parries too, I only really use it against hatchet welding enemies anyway because I'm not even sure if you can do it against pitchfork/scythe wielders tbh.

Would be nice if the DLC included a No Mercy mode to significantly up the difficulty and enemy count. And while it's probably outside the scope of the project, allowing co-op like RE5 or Raid Mode would be killer. Finally you can have Leon and Luis team up!

There's rumours of a harder mode on the way, but I do think co-op would really breathe a lot of life into Mercs and keep it ongoing.

@@Sarcosuchas Big reason behind my love of Raid Mode was the co-op aspect. It's a natural evolution of Mercenaries mode, so it would be good for Capcom to restore that kind of gameplay.

Gotta say, every character is super good. Leon is my favourite but that's just because he's very varied in how he can deal with the different enemies. The mercs don't really have weaknesses, just differences based on what they're superior at. Glad to see more mercs content from you on the way 👍

The most suspenseful part of these videos, is not the gameplay,but the combo counter. The video says 150, but when it starts to blink fast I get anxious. Awesome vid by the way.

I personally like what they did with mercenaries in the remake, especially with Leon, he might just be by far the best one for getting a real high score due to how his mayhem mode greatly rewards precision, which I am not exactly the best at unfortunately, I don't know why but for me the laser sight on the handgun kind of throws me off just a bit, I apparently am a little better without the laser sight, great vid as always though, can't wait to see what ada and wesker will be like.

It's amazing what they did with this game. Not only is Leon now a viable option for casual players, but since style points are pretty much a thing in this mode, Hunk's neck break isn't the only useful melee anymore.

Leon's top tier now, I would say Luis is the weakest but not by much really. All characters are perfectly viable.

If there’s one weakness Leon has it’s that his inventory fills up fast with how bulky his weapons are.

Not really, as to play him effectively you only need the sniper rifle and knives, so his handgun and shotgun can be discarded.

So how does it work in this version? Is the Handcannon still a thing attainable? In the ORiginal you had to get over 50K to have 5 Stars. And get that with every character. But in this version you can get up to S++. So do you have to do that with everyone to get it in this game? And what score does that require now?

In the original it was 60k for 5 stars. In this version you just need an S rank on each map, not sure what the score cut-offs are but I know S++ is 1 million. You can still unlock the handcannon through mercs, though it can also be unlocked via Pro mode.

volviendo a ver el juego, me doy cuenta de que para sacar el puntaje supermasalto, hay que usar mucho modo mayhem con leon y hacer puro tiro a la cabeza para que te saquen esos 8,000 puntos, jooder que doloron de cabeza! y asi como se tambalean los enemigos son mas dificil de apuntar

I agree. I typically run every map with Leon first because he's the hardest part of getting the handcannon for me, but I got an S or higher on each first try with him here.

Professional difficulty for the main campaign. Only perfect parries are accepted. Get the timing wrong and you get hit.

Ngl the skill was really sucked out of this new Mercenaries. Inclusion of mayhem mode AND getting time by killing enemies just makes it brainless.

Makes it easier to get a decent score, but for WR level runs it's still going to require a high level of skill and knowledge to pull off. The old RE4 Mercenaries was just about learning the spawns and optimal routes then repeating them until they bore fruit.

To be fair, Mercs in RE5 and 6 were only slightly harder than this. It's just tuning every character up to Wesker(S.T.A.R.S) level so everyone can pick everyone instead of just the same Meta picks
