well the actor who played Reacher was also a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. The only other character who was written that imposing and smart was probably "Repairman Jack" and that series of books if very interesting with a supernatural twist.
He dosent know to act tbh...in every movie he's like an emotionless brick...not hating on him.....but when we see people hating on Tom cruise just cause hes short

book reacher is unrealistic everything from his ability to stay massive without EVER WORKING OUT, while eating like a sumo wrestler, to his martial abilities despite being unsuited for it because of how large he is. to his prodegious knowledge
They kept pretty true to the book, and I can't wait to see other seasons and which books they adapt. There are over 25 books, and I have read about 20 of them. They have a lot of good material to choose from.

The writing in this show is soo good and they follow the actual source material as close as they can. Great show. Always keeps you guessing.
I'm so damn glad that S2 is on the way, it's always good to see Alan getting into new shows. He was the OG Aquaman in Smallville, the mo-cap for Raphael in the TMNT movie and Hawk in Titans, dude's a beast.
Loved that they showed Reacher’s ability to self-surveil and adapt depending on his environment while also showing his physical capabilities. It’s a great first episode that lays down a foundation on who Jack Reacher is that doesn’t give away everything. A solid first episode.
When I saw this series I was like damn this is incredible. Ritchson is Reacher and just embodies the role so well. The badassery in the fight sequences are amazing and he just dishes it out pulling no stops. Also you get Smallville's Lana Lang portraying a southern character from Atlanta, Georgia. Bruce McGills character reminds me of Boss Hogg from The Dukes of Hazzard which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia.
Two Smallville alums on the show. Ritchson played Arthur Curry 'Aquaman;' on Smallville, too. He was also Raphael in Michael Bay's live-action TMNT movies.
The Dukes of Hazard does not take place in Atlanta. It takes place in Hazzard County Georgia, which is a fictional place. The movie (which is nothing like the series btw) has some scenes that take place in Atlanta, it is not SET in Atlanta.
Just so you know, the saying is “pulling out all the stops”. It comes from when they would pull the stops out of pipe organs to make them louder, so if you pulled out no stops it would actually be quieter and unable to play at maximum volume. It’s almost as if you mixed that saying with “pulling no punches” because when you pull your punch you actually do less damage because you’re pulling your fist back just before impact. So if you didn’t pull your punches you’d be doing as much damage as possible. With what you said you’re implying that he’s holding back in some way, which I could maybe see for his fight scenes because he isn’t killing anyone yet, even though I think that’s on purpose, but in all other aspects his character really doesn’t hold back. Just thought I’d help clear that up🙂
Yes, for those of us who love the books, the Tom Cruise casting gave us a, “What?” reaction as Reacher is described as being 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 210-250 pounds and having a 50-inch chest. He intimated by simply walking in a room. Cruise actually captured the character/personality fairly well but I could never get past his (lack of) size.
I literally screamed when I saw this on my feed. Cannot believe you guys started this series. It's amazing. And the books are even better. Cannot wait for season 2.❤
So I've read all 27 Reacher books, as far as tropes go, he is "that guy in the right place at the wrong time". Besides Ritchesons physicality Amazon did a good job taking this show almost shot for shot from the pages of the first book without altering it to much.
A wise man once told me, if you have nothing good to say then sometimes it's better to say nothing at all. Jack Reacher seems to know the value of saying absolutely nothing.

I like that the fights are brutal, like Jack Reacher is fighting for his life, not just to assert his dominance. Alan does a great job, especially in the quieter moments with just his body language and eyes.
Reacher is my favorite show right now, I could not put it down after I started! The reveal over his brother was so well done. It hits you like a truck. 😢 My fiancé and I got his grandparents addicted to the show when we spent a weekend at their home. We were watching it together and after we left to go home they went ahead and finished the show 😂
I loved everything about Reacher. I read the book twice. Actually I've read all these books. I've watched this series 2 times . I'll go watch it again now 😂.
Guys, Your reaction was completely enjoyable. Your totally stupefied silence when you found out the body was Joe Reacher, was priceless! I enjoyed how Roscoe was going to "whip his ass", and that he had "kind eyes," and watching her "not watching" his bare chest was also priceless!
This is one of my favorite streaming shows of all time. I’ve read 4 Reacher novels, including this one, before I saw the show.. Ritchson is the perfect Reacher. I have a feeling y’all will love this show. Each episode gets better and better. Ritchson played aquaman in smallville and a Linebacker in Blue Mountain State. The woman that plays Roscoe was the lead character in the MTV Scream series.
It's about time! I think that you all will like this series. I'm waiting for Season 2. Alan has come a long way from being Aquaman from Smallville and Hawk from Titans. The guy has gotten huge!!!
One word. FINALLY!!! Season 2 is around the corner and will be based on #13 Bad Luck and Trouble. One of my personal favs :) Alan Ritchson (Reacher) will also be playing Agent Aimes in Fast X next month, so can’t wait to see more of him!
I love this series, the lead actor, Alan Ritchson is perfect. The right physique for the character, and such a good actor, all his thoughts and feelings can be read on his face with the slightest changes he makes.

This series definitely captures the Jack Reacher written by Lee Child. Big fan of the books; the movies were fun enough but Tom Cruise is too short - he did capture the spirit of the character, but this portrayal is perfection.

I will always remember how the Reacher books described hitting someone in the head is so much better if you use your elbow, since it's a lot harder than your knuckles and won't hurt/break if you hit a skull.

"It gets in your bones!" 😄 - This season is basically the first book in the JACK REACHER novel series, if I'm not mistaken, so they can do a book a season if they want. I like the Cruise movies as well, but I can see why folx might be annoyed by those. Lookin' fwd to seeing this actor continue the role if they greenlight a second season.
