I was saying to my father who loves the book series - I don't think its Tom's fault people didn't like the movies, they cast a giant name to draw interest but anybody who knows about REACHER, he is a monster of a man. Having said that, I had to pause several times just to watch my 73-year-old father go fan girling on this episode alone just nailing it.
@@MrHartApart I hated the constant smirking, especially when he's meant to be pissed or upset. And Roscoe's first line was the most cringe thing I have ever heard. And why did he have a passport? I hate when they change things. Why not just stay accurate to the books?
Thad/aquaman has really grown up. Really. Put on 30 lbs of muscle for this role (and 2 inches in height according to the script.) Says his maintenance calories are about 4k.
I'm a Jack Reacher fan and I read all the 24 books and I like how book accurate this show but still there are slight difference in the show and I know they had to change it for the show but I still like it.
@@PeteDHeat I'll check! I've never been a football person (although my family loves it and I always hear a lot about it). But I was watching the World Club final between Chelsea and Palmeiras with a friend in a pub. And she was so fixated on the game that I ended up cheering along with her lol We end up being the only ones cheering for "Porks" (as she called it) in a pub full of Blues. And... Chelsea fans are pretty smug and were quite disdainful of the game. Ended up with her calling them "plastic-fans" and "rentboys", which made them very angry, in short: we got kicked out of the pub hahahaha But I was more interested in the football scene. Mainly by Brazilians and Latin Americans in general.
Yeah he said they wanted him to put on about 30 pounds, but he had 8 months to do it. But he said he ate something like 4500 calories a day, 300 grams of protein. He said he worked out 5 days a week, hitting some weights but also doing a lot of bodyweight workouts like dips, pushups, crunches, pull ups, and he'd run a few times a week, but he said he felt like he was eating all day long. A lot of folks have been accusing him of juicing.. He has made a few counter claim video's explaining exactly how he put on the weight and got more jacked without PED's.
I totally believe him because it is doable. Especially with Amazon backing him with that Bezos cash. You get the best supplements, the best quality of food, best whatever you want. He hired a trainer and got to work. He actually inspired me to go back to working out.
@@PeteDHeat yeah he said he had an assistant that just brought him food all day long.. He said his workouts he did mainly at home due to covid, so he built a gym in the living room of the house they were renting in Vancouver (he was working on another project during that time).. and he said having it right there as soon as you wake up was easier to work out with than having to talk himself into getting dressed, and driving to a gym and having to deal w/ masks and protocols and people in the way.. he can just stay focused and make it part of his normal daily routine in his house. Which makes sense.. Wish I could do that.
@@PeteDHeat its actually totally not possible not in 8 months. an experienced body builder can gain at most 15 lbs of musle in an 8 month period without PEDs even with 4500 calories a day. in fact someone like Eddie Hall has to eat like 10,000 calories a day plus a PED regimine to just put on 15 lbs of muscle.
he has been accused of using PEDs because its literally impossible to gain 30 lbs of muscle in 8 months without taking PEDs even for the experienced body builder on a 10,000 calorie diet a day not to mention Alan has actually admitted to taking TRT and anabolics
one thing they get wrong is they talk about how the assassin used subsonic 95 grain 9mm. 95 grain is used to get higher velocity out 9mm. for subsonic heaver like 147 or 168 grain would be used.
@NEP84 with that been said Alan was already big as fuck just look him from pass, but he gained about 30 pounds for this roll himself said that he eat all the time
Good first episode and I’m really liking Alan as Reacher so far. The only issue I have is it feels like they are trying to force his backstory in way too early with the childhood flashbacks and certain other things that happen later in the season. In the books it took a long time for all the pieces of his past to fit together. Unfortunately we live in a time of cinematic universes so everything has to set up some that will come back further down the line.
Am I the only one who finds it a bit weird how everyone keeps reacting to his height? I mean sure 6'5 is pretty tall but it's not "holy shit look at that giant" tall. Everyone knows or has at least met a few people who are somewhere in that range. Even in a small town like Margraves that doesn't seem enough to stand out as much as it apparently does.
What happened to Reacher's incredible fighting-skills? In the books, Reacher could (almost always) second guess an opponent's next move and deal with it quickly and effectively. Not so in the series, it seems.
