Reaching Rank C In Coral Island (Quickly) 

Pinned this post bc these are some helpful tips I didn't cover in this video. To all the people: Ben's shop (caravan) is open on Saturday and Sunday. So the earliest you can buy a scarecrow is on Spring 6!

@@heartforpixels aww thanks. Then I'll add that we can buy a recycled scarecrow at the beach cleanup that has the same range as the one of Ben but a different design, however we can only buy it from the Pufferfish stand at the beach cleanup. Not really a tip, just a collector's hint ^^

That's exactly why I stopped playing it when I heard how long it would take. I want to experience the whole thing (even though I already *put 27 hours on it) so I opted to just stop and wait. I'm afraid that it if I played too much I wouldn't be able to enjoy the whole thing

Wow a whole year? 😭 I may stop playing soon then but I’ve challenged myself to get the greenhouse before winter so I’ll continue for now but I’ll probably just put this on hold until it’s updated properly.

@@AramasG yeah, I mean, apparently there's a few minor updates in between, but if you look at their update plans on the main game page (road plan? I think that's what it's called), the 1.0 isn't planned until next fall/winter. I've put the game aside for now until the next update. The greenhouse is totally worth it tho, so keep pushing!

Oh yeah! Every now and then when you go to sleep it triggers a meteor event. You can get gold, and even osmium (currently the only way to get osmium in game!).

Oh, is it the Spring update? I thought it was the update with the bug fixes / quality of life changes update. Either way, it's exciting! And don't you worry about my video. ;) It already got about 150 times the amount of views I had expected for it. I think it has helped out plenty of people and made them laugh and that's most important to me. :D

Think of this way: you have to wait longer but you'll have a fully complete game! Definitely worth the wait imo. ;) (By then you can also actually romance and marry Yuri, haha!)

Oh boy, you're right I just tested it myself. That makes glass even less of a bottleneck, that's great!

No idea! I'm not a data miner so I'm not sure what *actually* works towards a rank up, I just decided to share my trial and errors in the hopes it'll help people out. But it is actually a good point you bring up, because I remember having donated one book total. And some people seem to get absolutely stuck just before rank C, so maybe that could be a solution? Worth trying out at least.

but the kiln says scrap or sand tho :thinking: I guess it just doesn't say you can use stone too?

I found this such an interesting comment, I immediately jumped into my game to check it out, haha! Are you by any chance playing on a laptop or maybe a computer with not the best graphic card? I fiddled with the video quality settings (i play on 'high' but set it to 'low') and while the bigger signs only became more pixelated, the smaller "closed/open" signs sometimes became borderline unreadable. Is that what you're experiencing as well?

@@heartforpixels good point! I didn’t even think about my graphics card! I am playing on a PC with a decent graphics card - but probably not a GOOD one … my brother slapped it together for me so I probably should just be content it runs at all! 😆😆 And thank you for responding! To answer your question - the signs are barely legible - like the diving sign I can not make out a little fishy at all - but yet I can see everything else really Well! I’ll try messing around with my settings to see if it helps

@@deannascorner8112 My signs were like this too! What you need to do is go into Settings, click on Display, go down to Quality Preset and change it to Ultra. Press E to apply the changes and then save the changes! Hope this helps! 🤗

Admittedly, the ocean maps are a bit of a maze. In the Google Sheet I linked in the description there's a tab with "diving maps". So you can trace down where you're stuck! There are also a few non-turtles who I assume will ask for something in the future, but do not block your way currently. So you can just pass them if you'd like. Hopefully that'll help you out!

Hm, that's strange. How far along are you with the temple offerings? That's another huge factor for a C rank. Or otherwise maybe the mines or Sam's quest? Again, it's all still guess work what does and does not work, but I feel like your museum is filled more than mine, so it can't be that!

I think I heard on the discord they counted 115 donates for rank C.

I'm in the same boat! I've done as much fishing as I can possibly handle, it's so boring... I've done all available quests, minus the winter temple offerings which can't be completed until Rank C, and finished the mines. So what I've started doing is using the black market (M, T, Th after 8pm by the lighthouse), you can usually buy 2 artifacts and 1 coffer plus a geode to open up. and hoeing up the beach for coffers to crack open at the blacksmith to get as many items as I can to donate at the museum. Edit: so I've donated 120 items to the museum and still haven't got a rank c so I'm slowly losing my sanity 💀 I've also checked my friendships and have at least 1 heart with everyone, highest being 4. I guess the next thing I'll do is scour the mines for more gems to donate but honestly it's a little mind numbing and I might give it a break until a new update comes out 😂

That's strange because all I did was clear the two mines and clear the diving as far as it will let me . Then I donated some stuff but not everything. I definitely did not get a shark in summer and still managed. Idk how many artifacts I have though. What helped was to check the trashcan everyday for random items. I haven't even finished the fall bundle either . Edit : make sure you go to festivals and make friends in the game apparently that also boosts you up.

@@heartforpixels So, i just finished my 4th temple. I think I'm just missing the winter one. finished all of the underwater things. or at least I think i did. at least I know I finished the quest. I have turned in A SHIT ton of stuff. finished both mines. and I'm still not C rank. I think I'm only like 1-3 more items I hope.

Oh yeah no, I definitely think Coral Island will pull a Stardew Valley when it comes to the pigs and other animals. No butchering animals in this wholesome game!

In your journal you can see all the items you've found, and if you hover over an item you've donated then a small green museum symbol appears next to the info on the right side of the screen. So if you want to know how many items you've donated, you can count them all.

You can swim past it indeed. But in the google excel sheet I linked in the description there's a tab called "Diving Maps" that should help you retrace where you are and where you can go next!

@@TheOis1984 Check if it says that you are at 18 of 20 beacons and then you will only have to get a bronze large milk via farming to open the last bit you can open currently. I believe the large milk turtle is in the very north.

I mean... you can just play other games and come back to it once the 1.0 update hits? I know I will.

Donate to the museum. Also, you can check your progress now in your menu, so definitely check that too.

Hm, I personally turn like 95% of my trash into scrap, so I haven't run into this problem. I don't think glass is *that* cheap at the lab, so I'd still prefer to craft glass through stone if I do run out of scrap eventually.

Just an FYI disliking seeing a flag, doesn't make you homophobic. I dislike seeing country flags in people's back windows in their cars, but doesn't mean I hate the country they are from.

Your comment doesn't offend me and you seem genuine enough so I'll engage. Please keep in mind that: 1) I'm not American. Never even set foot on the continent. Neither is the development team of Coral Island btw, they are Indonesian based. Being (openly) gay isn't just a US thing. 2) There were a few threads (closed down by the developers eventually) on Steam that were arguing that this game is ""pushing an agenda"", which is an argument I make fun of in this video, because yes. yes this game is pushing an agenda. Of the impacts of climate change. An agenda FAR more prominent than any "gay agenda" in the game. That's ironic to me. That's the joke. 3) Every time I debate this stuff, this part of myself, in real life but ESPECIALLY on the internet, I have to consider how genuine someone is. Whether they aren't that knowledgeable on the subject, or just trolling, trying to ruin my absolute fucking day for the lolz. I can tell you're not one of those trolls. Many of the people in that thread that I screenshotted were. If they don't take me seriously, why should I give them the benefit of the doubt? So forgive me for treading lightly. 4) Considering it's illegal to be gay still in so many countries. Considering I could be sentenced to DEATH if I was simply born in a different country. Just for being who I am. Just for being non-binary. Just for being queer. Just for being "myself". As long as that still is an actuality for a vast amount of countries in this world, I will swing my pride flag proudly. That "pride" that "abudandency" and yes, that "in your face" that "noise". It comes from pain. It comes from our elders, who were murdered, and sterilized, and beaten and god knows what else. It's because we know, with one regime change, one different political step our country takes, those rights we now have, can be taken away again. We don't have the luxury to have a sexuality that will always be considered "safe". So the fact that we DO have those rights; that's worth celebrating. I'm not going to discuss the entirety of gay history with you. It's not the platform for that. And you're right It's still taboo in so many countries. It's why it's important to talk about it. It's why it's important to be PROUD. Because so many people do not want us to be.

@@heartforpixels also, since the game developers are indonesia based, i think it's really brave for them to accomodate LGBT cultures despite it's being their "agenda" or not. Because Indonesia is still a very homophobic country (i'm indonesian), so kudos for them 🙌
