Boris Karloff didn’t sing the song in “The Grinch”, he was the narrator. The song was performed by Thurl Ravenscroft, who is also one of the singing busts in the Haunted Mansion (the actual ride, not the crappy Eddie Murphy Movie, his voice is all over the original Disneyland and those cloned rides in Magic Kingdom) and was best known for being the voice of Tony the Tiger.

I was a young 18 year old on my way to classes in college, and there was this little hole in the wall coffee shop that only sold coffee and the Balls in the blue bottle. The “flower holder” in the New Beetle (a small vase that say in a mounting point on the dashboard) was actually a nod to a popular aftermarket accessory on the original Beetle. They were never that popular on this side of the Atlantic, but they were huge in Europe. The original vases would clip on to vents on the dash or (since the dashboards were metal) had magnets on the back. Most Americans probably just assumed what the Jaboody Guys did: that it was a flower power thing. I drive a 2006 TDI. It didn’t have the vase when I bought it, but the mounting point is still there. I don’t really want to get a vase, but I’d like to find some use for it, maybe a big Sharpie could fit in there.

I finally had a Sobe strawberry daiquiri and a the citrus one. Both are good but only at mom and pop gas stations. The bottle is plastic and if you go on the Sobe website you can use your zip code to find where the drinks are at. But I randomly found it.
