Well, as a doctor myself, the thing with the jewellery at work is actually that it is a focus of dirt and bacteria, which carries a higher risk of infection for your patients!
I was thinking the same!!! All that dirt is being passed among your patients. Good god she’s in anaesthesia, these patients are getting surgery! All the dirt gets trapped in the stones too. In my country the hospital quality inspection teams would write you the riot act for it. Only jewellery allowed for docs/nurses are plain wedding bands with no stones.
@@marynorton6068 It’s not like she’s wearing the jewelry in the operating room. She removes everything if she has to scrub in. Just like doctors do with their wedding bands. It’s really not that different.
@@nailartguy3363 LOTS of Anaesthetists don’t scrub in. No point, they’re fiddling around the head and mouth of the patient and machines which aren’t sterile. Secondly, where the F is she going to securely store hundreds of thousands worth of jewellery in a hospital while she’s in theatre?? In those flimsy changing room lockers? You’re lucky if your pen doesnt stolen in a hospital😂😂😂
A lot of these videos are just full of tacky stuff that people buy just because they can. I think she actually has a unique and colorful style, which is cool within the realm of designer items.
Your mention of the crocodile farms really interested me, as a reptile enthusiast, so I decided to do a bit of research. I came across a video that showed how these crocodiles are farmed and killed. These animals are incredibly intelligent, but they’re being kept alone in small pens. Then they are brutally murdered from their spine being severed then their brains mashed around with a screwdriver. This unfortunately often doesn’t even kill the poor thing. I don’t know how these celebrities with all this money can support these brands that do this. They have enough money to support good ethical brands but no. Note- the companies that farm this specific way have been identified as HERMES, LOUIS VUITTON, VERSACE, and GUCCI. If you want items from these brands, PLEASE buy second hand. Don’t give these nasty corporations anymore money please.
I really don't understand how animal cruelty is suddenly okay just because high fashion brands do that. Not only crocodile leather but real fur too, it's also incredibly brutal, but no one bats an eye when it's on the runway
This is so disgusting that I want to puke. As a huge animal lover, and a fighter for the planet and all the beautiful woods, jungles, seas, savannas and everything else that was here long before us that humans have actively destroyed; the inhumane way these brands keep behaving against animals and the nature as a whole makes me furious.
Oh wow, I just looked it up as well. That is absolutely horrific, it made me want to cry. Not a reptile enthusiast but it’s still revolting that so many people are okay with this. 😢
I eat animals for nutrition, but breeding and killing animals solely for fashion is unconscionable and morally bankrupt. Buying secondhand is the only way for me.
To add to the chicken feet discussion: not only did it offend a nation, it is incredibly classist. My mom grew up in multi-generational poverty and lived in a big household with at least 8 cousins plus other relatives for part of it. They ate whatever was available just to survive. So, yes, she ate chicken feet among other things I personally have no need nor desire to. Food born from hard times deserves as much respect as the best fine dining establishments in the world. Some of the people on real housewives forget not everyone can afford a new Birkin every year. It's disgusting how entitled they act and talk.
I remember working in a Chinese restaurant where the owners made this for everybody and I can’t remember if I tried it or not, I’m thinking that I didn’t. I regret that. That could’ve been a cool experience I could’ve had for free from people that know how to properly cook/prepare this.
So, if they leave a piece of jewelry inside of you during surgery, that's kinda telling you how much to sue them for, cuz that's definitely giving they have big money
For me, the purse collection is quite sad. I don’t imagine that those crocodiles are living their best life in those concrete pools… At any rate, if I were a crocodile that’s not the life I’d want to live. So, watching the purse collections is a downer, for me at least. I wonder if any of the big luxury brands are making high end products from plant based/non-animal sources?
I love how rich people are like Birkins are SOOO special 😍 as if we didn't know that they love them so much because they are expensive and allow them to show how much money they have. Birkins are ugly and the crocodile farm is a big no 😶
God I love Iris Van Herpen. This closet shocks me though. Like. A 40k ring? The amount of people that could be helped with that kind of money. Also chicken feet are delicious! Even if her cast mates didn’t prefer them it’s so easy to just shut up and not embarrass yourself in a restaurant.
Every rich person collects Birkins. Why can’t they ever collect something interesting??? 16th century taxidermy, dragon figurines from around the world, fertility relics (aka historical sėx toys), something with PERSONALITY. If you’re gonna be rich at least be interesting!!!
nouveau riches collect Birkins, generationally rich people do no collect such stupidly overpriced bags just for the sake of buying something expensive to show off
I really like her! She’s funny on tiktok/ig and I like that she has an actual career. Do I love all the excess materialism, no, but at least it feels like she actually is interested in fashion and isnt just buying labels to but labels. Also - I think it would be so cool if you do a series one day visiting artisans in Italy! I had a bag made from scratch in Florence, and I love it so much.
It is absolutely hilarious how Hermes convinced thousands of people that a handbag is worth $10,000 to $200,000+ They're just absolutely laughing to the bank while people are trying to convince themselves that it was worth it and there's women out here with hundreds sitting in their closets.
oh absolutely. i mean they can do how they please but it's getting ridiculous. the saddest thing though are the crocodile farms...like how is a brand getting away with that kind of thing :/
I mean, people are telling other people NFT's are worth thousands (sometimes millions). It's worth that much because people are willing to pay that much, not because it's materially really worth that.
Real Housewives of Dallas was cancelled after Dr. Tiffany's season because it was the third season in the row with a racism scandal AND unimpressive ratings. It's been heavily speculated by fans that she was brought on to help rehabilitate the image of Brandi, who was caught making racist remarks about Asians. Brandi would spend the season sort of freaking out when Tiffany was around her. Fortunately for Brandi, she's not the biggest racist on the show so she isn't considered the villain of the season. There's an entire debacle involving Dr. Tiffany and her former cast mate, Kameron Westcott. Tiffany is largely referring to Kameron when she mentioned the chicken feet incident. This incident would snowball into the season's main conflict and escalate on social media. They attempted another season with an updated cast, but production stopped. IIRC, Lizzy, who recently left the updated version of RH of NY, was test filming for Dallas before she moved to NY. Dallas never racked up ski high ratings and the way that Dr. Tiffany was treated alienated a lot of their small viewership. I believe that Bravo decided to cut their losses and move on. P.S. I assume that Dr. Tiffany could afford Hermes throughout med school because her husband is from a wealthy family. Another fun fact: Tiffany did a house tour on an episode of RH of Dallas and Kameron made fun of her for it.
The Kameron Westcott "feud" goes way beyond chicken feet. Kameron hated Tiffany from the jump and the only way she knew how to "shade" Tiffany was to be catty and passive aggressive all under the guise of being a "dumb blonde who just doesn't understand Tiffany's culture". When she was called out by the cast and viewers for her racist behavior she doubled down while her husband and brother in law waged war on Tiffany on Twitter and in their "elite" Dallas circles. One attack was claiming Tiffany was hungover at her job which is obviously a big accusation since Tiffany is responsible for keeping people alive in surgery. Tiffany was always smarter, more charismatic, and funnier than Kameron so she took it all in stride and eviscerated Kameron at the reunion while keeping it classy. Bravo didn't want to alienate the racist viewers (of which there are clearly many - just check the comments on IG) a la Ramona Singer so they axed the whole thing. Just like RHONY. I wish Bravo would've taken a harder stance with both ladies and set an example that "being clueless" isn't cute, funny, or an excuse. But their hands are tied after having so many all-white casts for decades and only recently entertaining mixing in minorities. Except for RHOA and RHOP which are black led casts - and a wholllleee other conversation. The way Tiffany handled all of this was really impressive.
It's a shame that she's happy to spend $350k on a bag that she barely uses but then buys fast fashion to wear everyday :( like if you have the $support companies that support their workers rather than amazon
I also stan Iris Van Herpen. To have been chosen to receive one of her incredible creations and not wear it is is a crime. CREATE a moment if you must, but WEAR your Van Herpen!
I do understand what you mentioned about Hermes crocodile farms but have to note that the way they are treated and killed is horrendous.. I saw a video from inside the slaughter house and the crocodiles were getting skinned alive in a pool of blood, water and their brothers wiggling around them hoping they won’t be next. It’s actually very cruel and Hermes has the funds to make better choices. So I do fully judge them for animal cruelty when they could at least try to be humane 🐊 💔
@@peachlipstick I agree with you but I don’t believe the people that make the decisions for Hermes actually care enough to ever stop using real animal skin… but they could at least take a step in the right direction, give the animals some respect and allow them a happy life and a quick painless death (which is still the bare minimum if even)
Nobody who uses the hide of any animal for any reason is going to be skinning them alive. Like regardless of if you agree with the use of animal products or not, from a practical point of view nobody is doing that, for two main reasons. 1) if you skin them alive you're going to get blood on the hide (or pelt/fur), therefore making it unusable as blood stains, and 2) animals do in fact feel pain and being skinned alive would be very painful, thus the use as a torture tactic through history, so the animal would be wiggling and you would be unable to make clean cuts, thus making the hide/pelt unusable. I understand that's what you saw, but it is not unknown for animal rights groups to manufacture imagery or videos of that to make their point, and emotionally it's hard not to react to that. But like. From a (sorta cynical, business focused) usability standpoint doing that would be a waste of product and capitalism doesn't allow for waste of materials like that, especially something as expensive to produce as a crocodile hide.
The fact that the Louis Vuiton music box can't remain opened and you have to hold its doors with something else is a mockery. 🤣🤣🤣 Girl, some luxury brands are sooooo cheapo.
An architect, mind you, was involved in making shelves so as to exactly fit the precise combined dimensions of all the bags But Luke, without missing a beat, asks what we all wonder: “And what happens when you buy more bags?” (as more bags are to be bought…) 😂 🤣🤣 New architect? New house?
I would be nervous about telling the world I wear a 150K watch around town...I dunno. This is a purse collection, not a closet. I'm just bored with these by now. Investing in bags is the modern equivalent of buying rare tulip bulbs. Can't wait for that bubble to burst....OK, I got to the Van Herpen and I've softened a bit. :D
I’m sorry, a crocodile farm? Now I’m really feeling some type of way about Hermes. Also i kind of feel bad that it seems like she really had a bad experience with her reality show appearance.
Normal med students graduate with about $40 to their name and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt, not a birkin to treat themselves. This girl got bankrolled by someone. She’s an interesting character. She was kicked out of our online doctor fashion lovers/shopping group.
Lol i love how shes like "i worked part-time jobs...." Like girl... your part-time job and student debt doesn't pay for a brand new Birkin let's get real
A brand farming theyr own crocodiles ita not exactly intrigin... its basically diavolic, i mean lets be real, taking an animal and take theyr skin (while being alive) for a BAG its just scary, ita not even someone trying ro survive the cold or something... we should do the same like when we hate fast fashion because of human righs.
@@bighaneul89 usually the animals eaten for meat have some standards for their living conditions especially organic livestock, and are killed in a manner that is as painless as possible. Looks like Hermes doesn’t care about the welfare of the crocodiles, they are not even entitled to a painfree death. They are tortured quite horribly and needlessly before they are killed.
@@cecilyerker Unfortunately, the meat industry is especially cruel, esp. in the US, with horrendous slaughtering methods and a cruel upbringing/living conditions (Also, "Organic" is something that can basically be thrown onto any label for a variety of irrelevant standards, so it doesn't always help) - so it's honestly hard to justify the manufacture process of a lot of animal-derived goods, unless you take the time to do ur research and look into the farm you're buying food from, or brand you're buying clothes from.
Eh. I'm also not excited about this closet tour. She has the same thing as 90% of the other closet tour videos: Birkins and Louboutins. It's boring. The clothes don't end up being particularly special to me either. Not to my recollection at least. Vogue does videos where designers swap pieces and rework them. I'm sure you've seen it. Would love to hear your thoughts!
They don't buy them for fashion purposes, any unique Hermes bag is buy as an investition, and the ones like the 350k Crocodile lether are not going to leave the closet more than twice a year. Those bags go up in price by year, for whatever reason, so its like owning gold bars, useless for the day to day life, expensive went bought, investition for the future
Birkins are just ridiculous bc of you go to pretty much any Latin American country it’s really common for locals to make crocodile bags and other products and it’s anywhere from 50-400 USD… and they’re honestly always cuter and more unique than any Birkin 🇬🇾
For some reason, all the closets look the same. Same white Ikea style cabinets, which isn't bad, but it just tells me they've all been built pretty recently
This is the Dallas Housewife you should have started with not Kameron Westcott and her racist family. Part of the reason Dallas Housewives was put on pause was all the racist and disparaging comments the Wescott family was making about Tiffany Moon. Another reason I wish you would take the Westcott video down.
Hi, I’m new to your channel. Can you do a reaction to Carla Rockmore closet tour please? I find her style very interesting and would love your thoughts.
Ya, poor things. They can destroy ecosystems if not properly maintained. Hermès only helps this out by taking extra eggs from wild nests to their farms which is scientifically sound and the best way to maintain the population. But, let's let them not do this so the huge adult crocodiles can destroy the populations of other wildlife as they are a suoerpredator and dangerous.
First closet where I would just remodel the actual closet and keep all the stuff. Totally willing to negotiate for the music box. +1 for the gooped AND gagged Luke.
Luke, I really like your sponsor integrations! I like the way you speak about companies, and your discounts are really good. I used several coupon codes already for different services.
Funny how basic people just can't refrain themselves from showing off and get that pat on the back "look how i did well in life" validation seeking type of thing. This is just an advertizing to be burglarized 🤦🏻♂️
i wish these closet tours actually showed their clothes or delved into their personal styles much more, like if you have the same glass doors as everyone else i just don't give a hoot about that.
The reason they arent supposed to wear jewellery is because of how many germs there are inside the links etc So i really hope she was joking about wearing them at work.
I don't know anything about this women but all I've learnt from this video is that she has no respect for her patients if she's refusing to remove her tacky jewellery putting them at risk
making ancient majestic reptiles into stupid bags.. I'm so over it, idc if I even would be able to afford it. Overconsumption has to be looked at differently, it's just hoarding, nothing luxurious about it
I wonder how they make a custom last for high heels. Do they make you put in quicksocks (it’s a sock that gets hard after time) and stand on a heel? do they scan you while you stand on a heel? Or do they just make measurements and make changes on an ordinary last?
it is impossible that this woman lives in our world! you have to be really sick to show off your addiction to material goods in the eyes of everyone. a 350.000 bag ?? really ?????????
Not envious, but I feel like there’s just zero creativity with these kind of rich people. You could do anything, like buy a fuck load with 350k and you spend it on one singular bag?
Because you can? And because the bag will only go up in price. Shes most likely buying retail as well, so when she leaves the store the bags immediately become more expensive
Most of the comments I’ve seen about it have been super negative, so I’d love to hear your thoughts. Personally, I’m VERY excited and I hope there’s something I’ll be able to afford lol
