This comeback is everything

It appears that the lore for Aespa shifted for this comeback. The popular speculation is that the Aespa members are trapped in some kind of time loop / alternate reality thing . In the short teaser videos the members appear to be oblivious to some kind of phenomenon that’s going on….while being interviewed by the newscasters. In the Welcome to My World MV, it hints at a time loop. In the beginning the girls are walking in a dark forest and meet Naevis…then Winter turns around and she wakes up in the daytime scene where the members causally go about their business and meet up. Gisselle is seen putting down a drawing but we can’t see it. Karina picks up her phone as she leaves her room. Winter seems to be in a daze most of the video like she is sleep walking. The girls get in the car and they go a scenic location and get out and hike into the forest…while we see glimpses of an unknown object in the sky appearing to lead them. As they venture into the forest we see “flashbacks” of the girls repeating the same things they did earlier only we see a mysterious vortex come out of their phones seeming to urge them on … and we see Giselle’s picture she drew, which turned out to be the dark forest they are currently exploring. (How could Gisselle know what the forest looked like if she already hadn’t been there before) The vortexes in the girls phones lead them on .. and I am reminded of the movie Donnie Darko. I’m not going to explain that movie but it’s about time loops and alternate realities…The vortexes and weird blurred sky objects seem to be leading the girls to the location to meet Naevis, just like in Donnie Darko where the protagonist is lead by vortexes from his chest to go where he needs to to break the cycle. I’m not sure if Naevis appearing in our world set up an alternative reality for Aespa or not .. or if Naevis is trying to help the girls escape their time loop….time will tell. In I’m Unhappy, we see the time loop again. Winter is running away from the alternate reality and collapses. She wakes up in that alternate reality again…seemingly not remembering everything but knows something is not right. Gisselle is having the same unsettled feeling but chooses to put blinders on to cope with it. Karina feels the depressing effects of the time loop but chooses the blue pill to willingly be in denial. Ningning feels empty from the time loop by being surrounded by NPC’s who control her actions. Winter later seems to “wake up” to the time loop reality and tries to escape by running from the NPC’s. Karina finally chooses the red pill and runs away. Ningning snaps out of it, which is shown by the red lighting surrounding her ..and she runs away too. The last scene Winter is seen running in an empty hallway just like she was at the beginning of the video. I’m not sure if the girls have to do certain actions to break the time loop, or if their actions in the video broke it. We are only left to guess whether the time loop starts again or if they broke it. Salty and Sweet appears to deal with temptation. The computer chip in the jello seems to represent that the reality is perhaps simulated …the robotic mosquito seems to validate that. For me it seems that the simulation is tempting the girls to stay in that alternate reality by offering shiny glamorous things. That’s just my opinion so I may be wrong of course. In Thirsty the girls are in a sitcom type of alternate reality where they are the stars. In my opinion it all seems to be a distraction to keep the girls engaged and focused on that reality…by using friendships and the “everything is ok” world vibe that only exists in feel good sitcoms. I might be way off but that theory would fit into the overall lore of time loops and alternate realities. Anyway I can’t wait for the comeback, and hopefully some answers soon. Lol

SM has done a great job with "Welcome to MY world". This one is really epic...I can't stop listening to it over and over again. I dropped the order for the album a few hours ago (the order also included the upcoming albums from Dreamcatcher and (G)I-DLE). This is going to be an interesting month.

Both I'm Unhappy and Welcome to MY world have this latent, eerie, calm before the storm vibes. For some reason, that i can't quite put my finger on, it gave me a vibe similar to the movie Mother! WTMW is to me Aespa's best work to date. Vocal heaven and the MV is incredible. Sweet and Salty is just a Baddie anthem 😳 Karina really said : let me murder MYs real quick. Thirsty is just... Fun but kinda sus😂😂😂 Its most definitely Aespa Season and they are out for necks.

They're actually stuck in a time loop n winter wants to save the girls. If you see welcome to my world - few scenes repeat itself as if it's a time loop.

Welcome to MY World has made me look at Aespa in a new way. I'm Unhappy thematically reminded me of Dreamcatcher (especially Scream and Odd Eye) and the effects of social media.

The effort in this comeback is genuinely visible, thanks for keeping up with them, I was looking forward to your reaction once again.

The two episodes of SPN you referenced are called 'Mystery Spot' (one w/ the Trickster) and 'The French Mistake' (one where they play themselves)... two of my favorites! The level of comedy in the these two is perfection! "So what, now you're Polish?!" 😂 The end credits of Thirsty remind me of Pixar "blooper" reels. 😄 Oh, and the Angelina Jolie movie was 'Hackers', released in '95.

SM Ent have announced that Naeivis will debut soon as an AI artist. Aespa are welcoming her to the MY World. MY is the fandom name. It can be mean Miss You, My friends, or My AEs.

Hi hi. I just now wanted to recommend the new series that is about this world. Hyunjun Hur is in it an ex member of The Boyz. I don't remember the name but it has KWANGYA in the title. I watched the 1st episode and it makes sense. I think it will be fun for anyone who enjoys their storyline :D It is on Kookmin Bank's channel KWANGYA 2023.

i'am very curious with this comeback i feel they will switch a little bit they're concept and i don't know what to expect about Naevis if she really made a "solo " . that could be incredible but it's also very risky . SM is in trouble now because of the big issue with HYBE and i know than they delay the AESPA comeback multiple time . the comeback is tomorrow and we got LESSERAFIM at they're best IVE still around the corner with they're japanese release and soon (G)IDLE so i'am very hype with this month .

These videos shouldn’t confuse us like this. I would like to think that perhaps Naevis threw Aespa girls to different alternate universes (or just virtual worlds) where they live different lives. Thus, the songs are themed respectively.

They are selling the concept while others are pleasing the general public.

Okay guys stop taking reference from every single thing. I'm unhappy, Salty and sweet and Thirsty are just individual tracks just like Yeppi Yeppi , Lucid dream or Life's too short. Only intro and second song of their albums are related to storyline. Like Aenergy and Savage from Savage album, Girls and Illusion from Girls album and WTMW and Spicy from My world album. In I'm unhappy they aren't talking about anything related to illusions of mind or etc. They are just talking about their everyday problems like Giselle who is engaged in social media seemingly happy but actually unhappy. Winter is getting bullied, Ningning has anxiety problems while Karina has drug addiction. There isn't any real or fake world.

I don’t think the story is a time loop. I feel like the repeated sections were there just to show that naevis was with them the whole time while hey were going to the trail to hike. They have helped naevis in her world and how she is somehow here to help them in theirs since there have been anomalies being sighted within their world.
