Reacting to BABYMETAL "doki doki morning"MV 

Good reaction. 'Doki Doki Morning' was their very first song. They recorded it at the end of October 2010 (Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11) and debuted on stage with it at the end of November 2010. The video was recorded and released in (I think) October 2011, so Su was 13, Yui and Moa (they are not related, but there is just a couple of weeks between their birthdays) were 12. Doki Doki is onomatopoeic for a fast or excited heart beat, so the song is about waking up and rushing to get ready for an exciting day ahead, meeting their friends at school and maybe having a party afterwards. It covers all the usual metal themes like which lip gloss to put on, getting their fringe (bangs) straight and so on. Yes live is where you will see and hear them at their best, they are a live performance act first and foremost, a recording artist second. Geoffrey Allan Plauche has made some excellent suggestions already for live performances, I will add a couple more. This one doesn't get enough reactions, maybe because it is not on any of their albums and is a cover song, but it is one they released on a joint EP while the original artists covered Doki Doki Morning (you don't want to see that). ⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰ 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' was their first released song, video, etc. At this point, BABYMETAL was still the "Heavy Music Club" sub-unit of the school-themed Idol group Sakura Gakuin. Pretty much everything that followed was because the music video for this song unexpectedly blew up. They had a later viral tidal wave with the 'Gimme Chocolate!!' video, but this is what kicked it all off to begin with. Their budget was super small to start with, even compared to the other Sakura Gakuin sub-units, and they got less promotion at the beginning. It's pretty clear from this music video it was a shoestring production. Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers. Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura. The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves. But the video started to blow up once it was posted online. The last performances of this song were at the two 'Legend S' concerts in December 2017, for Su's 20th birthday.

Yes, their 10th year anniversary is just recent. The sing is about waking up and the 'pressure' (can't find the right word, sorry) of a whole day since doki doki is like the sound of heartbeat. The girls here are Suzuka Nakamoto (i think she's around 13 yrs. old here), Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi (they're probably 12 yrs. old in this video). It seems that she is not into the heavy side of metal so what do you think of reacting to their song "Da Da Dance". Its a really catchy song and I'm pretty sure she'll love it. Nice reaction. While I recommend watching the official music video for Megitsune at some point, I definitely think y'all should check out some live performances next. As a general rule, we recommend proshot recordings of Babymetal's concerts. They're one of the rare bands that are actually better live. The songs are heavier, the instruments are still technical, the singing is on point and not processed, and the crowd interaction is phenomenal. Some of the official videos on Babymetal's RU-vid channel overlay live concert footage with studio audio, however, such as Gimme Chocolate, PA PA Ya!!, and DA DA DANCE. Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) is a must-watch, but it has been getting blocked for copyright a lot lately. This is BabyMetal's first ever song. Directed by Shimon Tanaka, shooting for the video was completed by October 2011. According to SU Metal, Tanaka had wanted to appear in the video, but found the choreography difficult to execute. The video was posted on the official Babymetal channel over a year later, on November 8, 2012. So Su Metal at this point in time is 13 years old (14 if ignore birthday) while both Moa Metal & Yui Metal are 12 years old. "This is like old school", no, this is almost pre-school LOL :-) Seriously, they were definitely still in school.

They are really cute but at the same time they can be super heavy and their live band is extremely technical. They have all kinds of songs. This is only one kind. People have a hard time wrapping their heads around all the things that they can do. People think if they're cute they can't be heavy or if they're funny they can't be technical. But neither of those are true. I'd recommend Headbanger live at Legend of 1997 for a song from their heavier, more serious side. Or Onedari Daisakusen is their cutest song. Live at Budokan or Legend of 1997 are both great.

Resistance is futile once you start checking out live shows they have won best live band several times and are better experienced live and as mentioned in the comments one of the rare bands that are better live especially Su's voice . Headbangèr live mentioned in comments is a good recommendation to react to . Although all there music is great and worth checking . Try avoiding complation videos it takes something from there performance in my opinion. 🤘🦊🤘
