Utopia is the follow up to her prior album Vulnicura, which is about the destruction of her relationship with Matthew Barney. I think in Utopia she’s confronted a lot of the pain she felt from that break up, and turned her heart to new people as we can hear in songs like Blissing Me and The Gate. Whereas Vulnicura was a breakup album, Vespertine is all about Björk falling in love with the same Matthew Barney, so listening to those two albums in context to each other makes them more intensely emotional.

If you're into the cinematic stuff, Arca's @@@@@, while daunting as an hour long single, is a stunning and perplexing odyssey with super crazy sound design and concepts. highly recommend :)

The part in courtship where you talked about online dating is so on point since Bjork called Utopia her tinder album, she just recovered from a heavy heart breaking divorce, she delves in that in Vulnicura the album prior to this one, and this album is kind of her finding love again while healing from the heart break and the pain her ex husband caused her

I will never understand why you don't get more views! You always have such thoughtful and introspective takes on the music, and you are never disrespectful of any art, whether or not you enjoy it. You also have given a platform to some seriously underrepresented artists, and for that I will always be thankful. You seriously are such a smart person! Thank you for continuing to be on RU-vid. 😊 Oh! And I have to add that while this album has definitive moments of pain and heartbreak, just be prepared for Vulnicura. It deals with the same breakup, and it's so painfully sad and dire that I cannot help but cry EVERY time I listen to it. Utopia was in many ways a rebirth of Björk as an individual after the breakup. Here I am adding again. Lolol. Tabula Rasa means blank slate.

I’ve been a fan of Bjork for 2 decades, but I must admit Utopia was my least favorite album. But then your reaction video made me see it in a new light. Utopia is not to be analyzed but felt. And this is exactly what you did. Your sensibility did it justice. Thank you! If I may request a reaction video, I’d recommend «The Spoils» by Massive Attack. Gorgeous song and video. This album , to me , is An Experience. You get struck with a myriad of feelings and thoughts that keep evolving and Everytime 1 re-listens to it. I can't count how many times I've played this and i still find lil Moments & intricate Sounds that lay beneath the surface. I will def join the bandwagon and Hope that you get the opportunity to delve into her Discography (especially VESPERTINE). I will Suggest these following Tracks: HYPERBALLAD JOGA UNRAVEL ALL IS FULL OF LOVE ISOBEL TRIUMPH OF THE HEART IMMATURE THE DULL FLAME OF DESIRE(Which os actually a Russian Poem, if not mistaken) . This is one of Björk’s worst albums in my opinion! I would recommend Post as a great starter album and then Homogenic and Vespertine if you were to do a reaction series!
