We don't know if it was Ryze in Arcane, although it certainly was referencing him with the way the teleportation looked. However, it is implied that Heimerdinger is so afraid of magic because of the Runes Wars, a glimpse of which is shown in this trailer - the city destroyed by a World Rune. The timeline doesn't really track, but Arcane is sort of doing its own thing, anyway.
Does that imply Brand had anything to do with it? Or we don’t really know since like you said it’s a different universe all together? Ahh! We’re so excited to learn all about it 😄
I don't believe it's Ryze that shows up in Arcane, just a reference of him because he is/was so important for Riot. The mage in Arcane is very pale, just barely blue. Ryze is really really old, so by the time Jayce got rescued, he should be very blue, as we know him, because of all the magic he as in him. But that's just a theory, i think Riot didn't confirm anything.
@@marlenesousa2402 you're right about the timeline being evidence that it is not Ryze. There's also no reason why Ryze would need the gems to do magic. Besides, Runeterra is a planet filled with mages.
@The Media Knights yes, Brand is the destruction you see in the cinematic. He was Ryze's apprentice, but he just wanted power, so he consumed a Rune and destroyed a full city. That's also why Brand looks like a living fire, a walking Rune.
@Marlene Sousa that explains it! Just read a little about it. Kegan’s story and his ultimate demise is quite sad. I wonder if there’s any of him left within Brand or if he’s truly home completely. I really wish Riot can someday give us a prequel to Arcane and that we could see these events happening in real time!
The forest at the beginning where ryze teleports inside is the Petricite Forest in demacian territory. Petricite is a material in the universe that absorbs magic and contains it. That's why when Ryze released the World Rune inside the pillar, it lost its light. Ryze stored it inside the forest in order to stop its magic from leaking outside
I'd love to see you guys react to the cinematics based on Viego, he's one of my favorite characters especially lore wise. There are multiple videos in connection with him, so it'd likely take a bit longer, but the story is so beautifully painful and worth the watch. I love watching your videos and it's always so nice to see people who pay such great attention to detail and actually discuss the material. Looking forward to more!! :D

Hes not in Arcane- unless they plan to change the lore- he should already be the color blue by the time the Arcane flash back takes place. Ryze has been blue for a long long time since the Rune Wars. Again unless they change it because the Arcane lore is already different from the League one

You might want to check out "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done" by Necrit. It gives a great explanation of the current world of league of legends and how they could very easily make it into a MMO.
It's almost certainly Ryze in Arcane, or someone very related to him.. Ryze is called THE Rune Mage.. It's no doubt a reference to him, in what way exactly we just don't know yet. But... it would be quite the coincedence if a random rune mage just stumbles onto a protagonist and give him the one thing he needs to further the future of big inventor city like that.. And his skin color doesn't matter, Ryze is a mage, why wouldn't he be able to disguise his skin color?
Ryze has seen some shit. He's basically what would happen if thanos recovered all the infinity stones and decided to put them back because they were too powerful to be used
fun fact he do the same things that Thanis do when he use stones and dont want they be use trees like that are consum magic world runes are strong but entire forst of stone trees can still fully consume runes magic and give they power to planet itself
Who is in arcane is another rune mage, Ryze is a mage so powerful that his skin turned blue from so much mana he has. he does not need to use stones to perform spells. Usually he carries a scroll on his back and a magic book with him. Quite different from the look of the rune mage that appears to Jayce.
Ohu my god yes Mageseeker game, Just like Ruined king Rpg is hot and I love this game finally a story shift for Demacia, stories of a few characters and settling a lot of things. I even started to like Sylas a little more, I just don't know what to do next, I hope that Riot Forge has some kind of story prepared similar to the event with Yorrick after the Ruined King RPG. There is still Ruination, Before Dawn and Absolution. All about the same Ruination event, when Viego, the Ruined King was about to destroy the whole world. Can't wait for reaction for those ^^ Sentinels of Light is the series I think.
Don't know if you guys will be able to read this but, the "Evil" that Heimerdinger saw in Arcane was actual also in this cinematic, which was "The Rune Wars"(that destruction part of the cinematic with the arc shaped flares) only in a different perspective, this time it's in the POV of Ryze not Heimerdinger. Both are witnesses of the catastrophic event, originally in the lore we only know Ryze was one and it was revealed in Arcane that Heimer is also another witness.

Love your guys reactions! It could possibly be Ryze, although Ryze's whole goal is to keep powerful magics hidden, so it could just be a rune mage. Also fun fact, the area that he's bringing the stone and the trees that surround it are petricite, which absorbs magic. Which explains why he feels so weak in the area. Demacia, the counterpart to Noxus is built out of it, and they despise mages. Also I said it before and I'll say it again "Tales of Runeterra" is such a good little series that gives you a glimpse into the world building of different territories of Runeterra and will make you beg for spin-offs. If I had to suggest other cinematics, "The Path, An Ionian Myth" into "Kin of the Stained Blade," they are both related and are a great little anime story. Also "As We Fall" is a great and beautiful music video, and awesome that it represents LGBT. Also Star Guardians are always a fun time! Hope you enjoy them!

Maybe It is something only in my Head. But the Last rune color missing in the shrines os BLUE the same color of hexcristals in arcane. And the "utility" page rune of league.
I would highly recommend the entire Ruined King Viego vs Sentinels Of Light story, if you guys have time to do a longer video. The story is split up into multiple parts. Luckily you guys have yet to have seen any of the parts. I made a playlist which contains ALL the cinematics in the correct order. It will take at least 1 hour to watch them all, as I also included the theme songs to add depth to the characters. Ryze is the most powerful "mortal" mage in runeterran, there is also Syndra who have potential to become more powerful than any mortal can but she kinda lack control and.....ngl kinda dumb
