The Bills have been a superbowl darling for 5 years. But lets be real, their window closed last year. As a Rams fan, we're too high on the list, we should be 8 at the highest. But I do think (am biased) we're going to win the superbowl against the Chiefs this coming season

If you’re going to downgrade the Rams due to the possibility of Stafford getting injured, you’d have to do the same to every team. CMC might get injured too (2 seasons ago he was “injury prone” and now that’s out of the question?). “Aging” right tackle, so for example Trent Williams isn’t aging? “The young guys in the niners oline will get better” and Kobie Turner, Byron Young, etc wont? I respect your opinion man, these arguments just seem very cherry picked, Imo we have a very complete roster, good oline, great qb, great Rb and WR room, great young DLine (you cant replace Aaron Donald, but now your pass rush won’t be as one dimensional) + McVay and Stafford aren’t regular season merchants, they’ve been there done that. As a final point, Sean Mcvay has lost a gazillion coordinators (like Staley, with whom we had the no.1 defense) and the team has remained competitive

When superbowl CHAMPION Sean Mcvay gets introduced as "Mcvay is still calling plays" its proven without a doubt, Mcvay is the better coach head to head against shanahan and recieves none of the praise. Shanahan tried replicating our formula for success (after 9er fans tried to delegitamize it) and still couldnt get the job done. If im not mistaken there are TWO SB winning HCs in the NFC n shanahan definitely aint one of em. The Rams are the better team and deserve more respect because Mcvay has proven he can do more with 'less' while shanahan has done nothing with the best roster in the league

You brought up Stafford's health concerns last offseason but didn't discuss the season he had following those concerns. He'll be just fine behind an improved offensive line. Also don't underrate just how good of a head coach McVay is. Makes a world of a differnce AD or no AD. You glowed about Shannahan. He's pretty good but with that roster has been a choke artist when it counts. I give McVay big respect for what he did last season with the roster he fielded every week. I'm gonna be that guy to defend Colin, Rams over Niners is not crazy. I still would lean Niners, but Rams have an offense that is as good as almost anybody in the NFL, are very well coached, are mightily improved at CB, losing Donald is HUGE, but Kobie Turner was a sneaky star DLmen as a rookie, you add Verse and Fiske in draft, and this defense is suddenly looking pretty solid. 49ers have questions at OL, they did do some replacements at DL, but I think losing Armstead isn't something to not look at. 49ers also rely a lot on the health of their top weapons, and now they may have some questions to answer with the Aiyuk situation. The Rams ended the year super hot, and now had a bazillion picks and with how well they draft Rams winning the division is not out of question. I personally have both teams finishing 11-6, with the tie breaker going to the 49ers due to sweeping the Rams since they matchup well with the Rams.

Sean McVay regular season record 70-45, playoff record 7-4 Kyle Shanahan regular season record 64-51, playoff record 8-4 Sean has won the NFC West 3x and Kyle has won the NFC West 3x Sean McVay has missed the playoffs 2x while Kyle has missed the playoffs 3x Sean has only one season with a losing record while Kyle has 3 seasons with a losing record. Rams were the second youngest team in the league last season. So when it comes to window open the Rams are looking better for the future. Better offense? I'm going Rams Rams offensive line was ranked 10th last season but has improved this offseason with the addition of Jonah Jackson from the lions and moving Steve avilla to center and keeping Kevin Dotson. Not to mention we have depth at the o- line with the 2 guys we drafted this draft with limmer and leveston and don't forget about Logan bruss and noteboom on the bench. Running back - I'm going Rams Kyren Williams was second in rushing and he missed 4 games behind Mcaffery. (Mcaffery 1,459 rushing yards- kyren 1,144 rushing yards) you add Blake corum to the mix and that's a deadly 2 punch as he is a carbon copy of kyren. Oh I forgot we also signed Boston Scott lol Wide receivers - Rams you have this season a healthy Kupp, Puca on his second season after a record breaking rookie season, Robinson resigned as a reliable 3rd option plus Ben and atwell is still there off the bench. Tight end - kittle looked brittle in the Superbowl and the Rams have Colby Parkinson and Davis Allenn who we drafted in 2023 and played exceptionally well the games Higbee didn't play. We drafted the best kicker in the draft and last season our punter was one of the best in the league. So yeah when it comes to offense McVay has a lot to work with especially with an O-line that can create gaps for the running backs Now let's talk defense - The Rams have dogs and they are young and hungry Last season defense was the Rams weakness especially when it came to the secondary and rushing the passer. But they totally addressed that issue this offseason D-line Rams you got Byron Young Edge coming off a rookie season where he got 8 sacks and Kobie Turner who also a rookie got 9 sacks as a nose tackle. Now you add Jared Verse and Brendan Fiske to that line and you also have guys like Bobby Brown, Brennan Jackson, Tyler Davis, Michael hoecht that's a scary young D-line. Safety you got Kamren Curl, Kamren Kinchens, Quintin lake, Russ yeast, Jason Taylor Corner you got Tre'Davious White, Darius Williams, cobie Durant, Tre tomlinson, derion Kendrick Linebacker is the weak spot but you still got earnest Jones, Christian roseboom, troy Reeder, Jacob Hummel and Brennan Jackson Oh and yes while the Rams backups beat the 49ers backups last season it shows we have more depth then people realize and we were a different team when they beat us the second game of the season. Another thing the Rams lost to the lions was by one point with a ok defense and the lions got lucky the refs didn't call pass interference on Puca or ruffing the passer on Stafford. The Rams have a better team now than they did last season and that's without Aaron Donald.

It’s not exactly uncommon for a team to suddenly turn things around in a season. It’s also not uncommon for a good team last year to just collapse next season and be bad. The Texans were hot dogshit the past few years and all of a sudden they are a great team. The Bengals suddenly shot up to being one of the best teams in the league a few seasons ago. The Cardinals got off to a blazing start in 2021, but fell off a cliff, like the Eagles did last season. The Packers are looking to be a contending team all of a sudden, when their future looked real bleak. Needless to say, power rankings before the season even starts are worthless really.

Not doing that leaves you open to fair criticism, and it also prevents you from putting out a better product; one that takes into account Colin's arguments for why he ranked each team where he did.

Their lack of receivers is overrated, and they have some pieces on defense that can make it good if they are actually utilized correctly which they weren't by staley. I do believe it'll take 1-2 years for the chargers to be a legit threat in the AFC, but they are going to be at lease league average if not slightly above. and with herbert and harbaugh, you never know, they could finish top 10, we just have to see it first

Very good analysis! Colin is trying to make popular picks, not neccessarily accurate, for the likes. If the niners had picked up Fautanu and Jackson Powers Johnson in the draft, they would be #1. Being in an obvious superbowl window, they should have used all their 2025 draft capitol and done a lot of trading to also pick up Pearsall around 40 and then a great edge rusher, corner and DL. I’m a Rams fan, of course I disagree… Several points - Kobie Turner was doubled more than AD last year. - Both him and Byron Young were number 1 & 2 sack leaders amongst rookies ( I get it, it’s the AD effect) - The Offense line got better & picked up Corum who has similar traits to Kyren ( you know, pound for pound RB 2 behind CMC) - Secondary got better overnight with majority of players being ball hawks & lumberjacks - Lions needed the refs to beat us, Packers never saw Stafford in 23’, & mark my words the Niners don’t wanna see them boys come January 24’ - BONUS. Hurts was clearly playing thru injury last season (For some reason everyone skips over that part)
