I love this song and I’m a huge fan of John Rich. Not only is he a patriot, he was highly annoyed at the way that our banks would just cancel credit lines on people if the government just asked them to or freeze their accounts. Some of his friends joined him to start their own Old Glory Bank. I don’t think they are big enough to handle big corporations yet, but it’s an alternative to giant banks who seem to do anything that the government asks them to do even if it’s not required.💕 Your mini reactor is adorable!💕

Yes Tom wrote it on the renegade album Tom sang the hook. He decided to bring in John for the video. At first I had a little bit of a hard time getting used to John on the hook because Tom sings it really well too.

3:33 Yup, Tom wrote it. John had reached out previously to tell him he's a fan of his work and they kept in touch. Tom wanted to put this out as a single but didn't think he had the pipes for it. So he reached out to John and said 'yo I got this song I think you'd be perfect for...' JR said send me the track and got right back to him saying he'd be honored to. I remember seeing John and Big Kenny open up for Tim McGraw at the Gorge in 2004 right after Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy came out. John is a straight up gangster; he couldn't stand Nashville so he started his little clique called Muzik Mafia where he discovered Gretchen Wilson among others and really went to bat for her. He also had this bilingual 6-6 rapping black guy named Cowboy Troy who was decent, a rapper named Chance who was pretty dope and Two-Foot Fred who was kinda like their hype man. He also put on Jason Aldean and wrote most of his first album back in 06. Eventually he got tired of the politics and started his own label. He was a major hellraiser back in the day; not many dudes can walk into Nashville and make the labels nervous like John did. He DGAF.

This song brings out so many emotions - the past, present, and future - all throughout with a really catchy tune and amazing video, it is all really great. Love this long!
