The Irish Guy reacts to Gareth Southgate's final England squad for Euro 2024, after choosing to omit the likes of Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Harry Maguire. Business enquiries: irishguybusiness@gmail.com
@@daniel4002 tornament is in a week mate doubt its changing much everyone in the squad has been playing well almost all season the the ppl who were dropped just haven't been in form for months
@@donaldblobfishI mean Englands best defender is Stones and Ben White is probably the 2nd best but he doesn’t care about playing for England. Makes more sense why Luke Shaw was picked
@@edi0157well not always. When he played for Ireland he loved him. But once he declared for England he basically wanted him dead. Definitely not a new op tho
@@ronweasley1354 I mean, yeah, it s not new is what I meant as it s been a while since he switched, he s played for the senior team since 2020 and the youth England side since 2016 (but there was still hope for the Irish then I guess even if he repeatedly turned down senior Irish caps)
The shock isn’t that Southgate didn’t choose out of form players, it’s that he chose 50 attackers and 4 midfielders. That’s what doesn’t make much sense to me.
England is stacked up front and not much in the midfield. He even says that much in the video lol. Who would you even bring? Kalvin Phillips and Jordan Henderson?
Vieri missed both Euro 2000 and WC 2006 because of injuries (the 2000 Serie A play-off, when he collided with Buffon and they both ended badly injured; in 2006 it was injuries, plus lack of games, plus lack of form, plus being over the hill, plus Gillardino/ Inzaghi/ Iaquinta/ Del Piero/ Totti having great seasons; did I mention Luca Toni winning the European Golden Boot with some 31 Serie A goals!?)
Grealish needs a move away from City for his own sake I don’t see him getting any minutes next season especially if Doku continues to find form and i expect high things of savio
My guess is also Walker, not only because they play at the same team, but also because he does strike me like someone who can't face reality and reality is that Grealish sucks ballsack.
Just another yearly reminder England love overhyping their own. Imagine being angry a forward with 3 goals a season is left out. No Shit😂😂😂 imagine bringing him over the likes of Foden, Bellingham, Palmer, or Eze after the seasons they had😂
Irish guy about to make an essay about why Jack Grealish not being included in the squad and that Jack Grealish in his prime is as good as out of form Eric Djemba Djemba 🤣
Yeah, while I hate how football youtuubers only make thumbnails that are just "my face making an expression that matches the vibe of this video", I'm glad when they do it in a way that sums it up
Honestly this is the first major tournament where ive looked at the england roster and wasnt pissed at atvleast one decision. Southgate...actually picked the right team. Maybe I'd have swapped Maddison for Ivan Toney or Harry Maguire (yes, i know, but he still plays pretty well for the national team) for Dunk, but i dont hate it at all. Now my hope is Greg Berhalter picks an equally good squad for Copa America....although i doubt it
Towards the end, he was doing quite well and did save them a couple times when Kim looked shaky. But other than that, I agree that he’s been shite for most of the season. The Board of Directors and their elderly advisors over Bayern are insane, though. I doubt Kompany will work out well.
I never minded Dier. He was brought in ro Bayern for depth and to help Kane get comfortable faster. He succeeded in both. Even if the team didn't have it's best year. The Company appointment, however.... @heijimikata7181
@@aarondoesyt3194let’s be honest, Southgate was never picking Tomori even though I agree. There’s 2 players not in the Premier League in the squad, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane. Southgate would only picked Tomori if he was indisputable in his position. Instead he picked Konsa, Gehi, Stones.
His comment on guardiola is spot on. Pep is amazing, but his tiki taka tactic with man city turned great players into machines, no imdividuality. Everyone can do the same thing in every position and it doesn't matter. Bcs it works amazingly, every team wanted to copy it, turning the premier league into a tactical football game instead of players just tried whatever works on the situation. Noticed how there's a decrease in goals from outside the box? No 25 yard screamers, volleys from outside the box...etc
Isaac stood on the cracked sidewalk, blending into the shadows as the sun dipped below the horizon. At 5 feet 3 inches, his stature made him look like he belonged among the children who filled the streets of this Los Angeles neighborhood. His dark eyes, once filled with dreams of playing professional basketball, now harbored a heavy burden. His heritage, proud and rich, seemed like a distant memory as he found himself lost in a world he never wanted to enter. Growing up in Mexico, Isaac had been an avid basketball player. The game was his sanctuary, his escape from the harsh realities of life. When his family moved to LA, he had hoped for a better future. But the streets here were just as unforgiving, if not more. Opportunities were scarce, and he soon found himself struggling to survive. Desperation led him down a dark path. He fell in with the wrong crowd, people who saw his diminutive size as an asset. They introduced him to the world of drugs, and before he knew it, he was a part of their scheme, selling fentanyl to children. It started as a way to make quick money, but the grip of addiction-both to the lifestyle and the substances-tightened around him like a vice. Isaac hated what he had become, but he was trapped. His height made him an effective dealer; he could easily blend in, approach kids, and lure them into his deadly trap. He would show up at the local playgrounds, shooting hoops with the kids, earning their trust. He would talk about his own dreams of making it big in basketball, weaving tales that mirrored their own aspirations. Then, with a sorrowful heart, he would introduce them to the fentanyl, promising it would make them feel invincible. One day, Isaac met a boy named Alex. Alex reminded him of himself-small, eager, and full of potential. The boy’s love for basketball was evident in the way he handled the ball, his eyes lighting up with each successful shot. Isaac saw a reflection of his younger self in Alex, a painful reminder of what he had lost. He tried to keep his distance, but the need for money and the demands of his superiors were relentless. The day he handed Alex the tiny, deadly pills was the day Isaac’s heart truly broke. He watched as the boy’s innocent trust transformed into a deadly dependency. Weeks passed, and the vibrant boy who once dreamed of the NBA was reduced to a hollow shell, consumed by addiction. Isaac’s guilt became unbearable. Every time he saw Alex, the weight of his actions crushed him. He tried to help the boy, giving him less potent drugs, hoping to ease him off, but it was too late. The fentanyl had taken its toll, and Alex’s health deteriorated rapidly. One tragic evening, Isaac found out that Alex had overdosed and died. The news shattered Isaac. He stood on the same court where they had played, the echoes of their laughter now haunting him. The dreams of basketball, once a source of hope, were now a reminder of his failures. He looked around at the other children, still blissfully unaware of the monster in their midst. Isaac knew he had to change, but he was in too deep. The threats from his associates were real, and the grip of his own addiction was unyielding. He longed for redemption, for a chance to undo the harm he had caused, but he saw no way out
This guy is going to say that Bowen has been ghosting since that hattrick against Brentford Then he's going to pull goal stats as if Sancho has been a goal scorer a Dortmund😂😂😂 make it make sense
I do agree grealish has been poor but ireland’s squad is pure garbage its filled with championship, league one players, grealish walks in that squad on name alone
There is not a single English Man United player who should be allowed within a country mile of the England squad. Shaw must have compromising pics of Southgate... I think everyone with a pulse knew Grealish was not going to cut it, and over a decade of cheating, filling the squad with players they couldn't legally afford without breaching over a hundred rules (allegedly) will carry a haircut who sometimes falls over to win a pen all the way to a title. Plus they guy only completed 90 mins in league games 8 times this season. Only actually being unavailable for selection 3 times, 2 twice through injury and once through suspension. He absolutely should not be going to a major tournament.
He had 3 goals, but still, city is scoring at the same rate as last season or the season before. They aren't reliant on him for scoring lol. He's not a flop, he did his job. 3 PL 1 cl
Don't you dare compare Henry to Grealish! Henry still puts up incredible numbers in his sleep compared to him in an era where players were usually washed after 30 in which he almost was when he went to Barcelona.
Maddison deserved to make the Euros. First off, he did not slow down in the second half of the season, just Spurs where not as good so he was not getting the same hype. In international breaks he dominated but big name youngsters got more attention. Even if he slowed down being the best player in the prem for the first half should guarantee a spot in the England squad.
I swear Irish guy doesn’t watch grealish play, he only judges him on g/a he’s class for city. Also he keeps saying that pep robs players of their creative freedom, but look at doku foden KDB in the current city team, they’ve definitely not been stripped of their creativity
Wharton had a 100% pass completion on his England debut. He's a good player who deserves to be in the squad. He'll be the controlling midfielder for england (in the future, not at this tournament)
Great call on pep. Buys marauding winger Turns player into a more disciplined team player. Players does his best but is compromised by change of style New marauding winger purchased as replacement because first one isn't good enough
Tough week for England: 1.Grealish, Maguire, and Maddison out of the squad. 2.Injured Shaw included. 3.England lost to Iceland in the send-off game at Wembley. Now, I'm really doubtful about England's chances in Euro 2024. They will either crash out in the group stage or better, the quarter finals (again).
I agree with the Maguire omission, i think Dunk should have been cut too... There's a pretty big gap between Dunk (32), Maguire (31) and Guehi (23) with only Stones plugging that gap and he's 30! We need to blood some centre backs into tournament football! So i would've taken one of either Branthwaite or Quansah.
@@ashtongodfrin6999 still omitted, he could still have taken him but played later when recovered, he's taking Shaw who has had zero game time since February so he's obviously thought Maguire would be one risk too many. That's called an omission.
I dont think the dropped players are to controversial but i would prefer maguire and grealish in there for some more experience but if it means AG10 gets more gametime then its fine
Ive also just realised if you wanna play for england then dont play abroad cause dier wasnt even in the provisional and tomori hasnt been in the setup for a couple years and now sancho
@@user-gb5bd6lj4w The view from Germany, who don't drag players through the mud because of vendettas, was he was absolutely terrible. Playing a lot in the worst performing Bayern team in a decade isn't the flex you think it is 😂
Might be because of how good the Premier League is, so there's the mentality of "unless you're ABSOLUTELY World Class, you have to play in England to represent England"
i dont see anything wrong with the squad man ik maguire is injured but only one who shouldnt be here is luke shaw man is injured for long so many times and barely plays
ive never gotton the hatred he has for grealish given he stopped playing for Ireland at under21 and rice is stood there with 3 actual Ireland caps still in the team why grealish gets more anger puzzles me
I feels like Grealish isn't a stats player Exactly how he scored 5 goals as a Treble winning winger and was brilliant especially in the Champions league proves that even if he isn't what he was at villa he is still an EFFECTIVE PLAYER
Brilliant in the champion league and got no assist or goals in treble winning szn bro your joking man city didn't pay 100m for him to pass the ball back stop being a losers and just admit he's not good
