The whole idea of these “dance practices” is so that you can see the whole choreography and not cut up portions, due to the mvs, or live camera work at performances, where you get changing shots, and individual closeups.

I think sometime during the transition of the 2nd and 3rd generation of idols they just started releasing a version the videos they have to send in for music shows. which have to be a more perfected version so that the show knows where they're going to be and how to work the camera. There is a clear diffrence in say seventeens adore you and mansae dance practices and then from about Boom Boom onward they're a bit more professionally filmed. the only dance practices that seem like real practices i can think of were some of the older shinee dance rehearsals or some of the sm idols in that room with the cloud background

@@tomuchcamoflauge yeah but there still for example are some behind the scene as in practice videos like the one in which Yoongi is learning THAT THAT or the 3J Performance yeah they pretty much know the choreo mess up a little but yeah it is still a practice video. That is something I do as well when I learn a dance and pretty much know the dance I record it and look what I could do better

Since you like to see the real practicing, like this one, you really need to check out the 3 Js practice for Butter. It is a dance break for Butter that Jhope, Jimin and Jungkook did for theMegan Thee Stallion version. It is incredible to see the absolute perfection the dance line puts into that!

OMG! Can't believe you did this. 😅 I'm an ARMY myself but have never binge-watched these dance practice videos before. And yet here I am spending 2 hours watching this. Your effort is much appreciated and you not talking much didn't bother me. Just knowing that someone is watching it with you, I guess is more than enough. And yep, remove all the fancy costumes, cool lightings and amazing camera angles and still you get a great performance from BTS. MMA 2019 is something else. 💜

K-pop trivia- DPV's (mirrored dance practices) started with SHINee and Sistar. For some fans, that's how they got into K-pop and its function has evolved to cement better choreography. The contrast between past (2gen) and current production of DPV's is remarkable and has curated billions of views generating more money for the artists' and their companies. Thank you SHINee. You deserved more than what you got.

1:51:46 this man right here with rm is their main choreographer who has been with them since before debut and is a huge reason for their insanely precise choreo… he said he wanted to help build a group that was flawless on stage with physically powerful and emotionally powerful delivery but he wanted them to do it until they could do it in their sleep. He was super hard on them and they hated him a lot of the time bc of it lol but they were young and they know that he’s someone they trust and respect and it’s cute to see the relationship change bc they’re al adults now… his name is son sung deuk and he has won awards for work with them in fairly certain but you’ll notice him in a lot of the big rehearsals for big award shows and stuff or even all the first live performances on the billboard music awards and amas and all the talk shows…. He travels with them and works with them to this day. Of course they do work with other choreographers as well.. but he’s the one that’s been there since the beginning

For the Mic drop performance dance practice that was the original Mic Drop produced by P Dogg who is BTS's in-house producer. The song is entirely in Korean while the English version is remixed by steve aoki that's why it sounds different

@ 8:59 you said that they were off? while that is true on some minuscule level. That portion of the fake love choreo has JHOPE as the lead in the front, the others follow him as if they have no mind of their own. Its another detail in the choreo that is intentionally /off/ to show the sadness of the song. Just a heads up! :)

Their choreo is not just cool looking moves, it's also visual storytelling. The moves relate to the words or meaning of the song. For instance: in Fake Love, a song about being false to yourself, there are motions that are like Hear/See/Speak no evil, covering their ears, eyes and mouth, as well as moves that are mirror based, just like the mirror visuals used in the video. It's also a marionette based dance, because they are like puppets (or dolls as RM says in his lyrics) so many moves are puppet based. Look for the jerky start and stop motions, the little bounces, the starting fan out with the puppet poses, the way their arms are held out stiffly in that puppet pose many times, the way Jimin controls them from the center position at the 9:00 mark, they way they all drop like puppets at 9:33 and then rise up again, etc. The big image of hands behind them at the start of the MV is both mimicking the hands doing Hear/See/Speak no evil and representing hands pulling their puppet strings. The ending with Jin and JK's hands in the air is over lyrics about blooming an impossible flower, and so on. The Choreo for Spring Day is sad and shows people being isolated, pulling people up from the floor, people being trapped, people weeping or grieving, as well as wave like motions, etc. All the choreos are like this. There is great detail in the meaning of the moves. In Anpanman they strike superhero poses, and at one point in Anpanman, they all strike poses mimicking the Avengers. At another point RM feeds a bit of his anpan head to Jimin and helps him up from the floor, just like Anpanman. Here is a link to a Fake Love performance with a great dance break that really showcases the puppet/marionette theme. The way their mic mix is, their breathing is a little heavy here, but the dance break, which starts about halfway through, is fantastic, and it just shows how hard they are working. Notice the white gloved backup dancers acting as puppeteers during the dance break, the clockwork sound effects and all the obvious puppet dance moves. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-df3AuWkaM_A.html

Jungkook's hobby is filming! he films and edits his own videos, they are released on bangtantv with the name of his studio GCF (Golden Closet Film). there are several of them from different places he travelled to on personal and work schedule like Tokyo, Osaka, etc. but one of his videos is an edit of this dance practice. I recommend you to watct his videos in chronological order, there are around 5 or 6 videos of his I don't remember now, and they are short, so it's doable! this way you can really see his progress from video to video p.s: bangtantv has a separate playlist for it that is organized in order. the oldest one is GCF in Tokyo

A big reason why Mic Drop was different to what we're used to is bc what we're used to is the Steve Aoki remix!! That's the one that the MV uses. There's also a remix w a rapper called Desiigner And I think there is laso a Japanese version? I usually dont listen to japanses versions, bc I want to be familiar enough w the korean that I can try to sing along a bit 🥲 But yes!! The steve Aoki remix is my favorite for mic drop that I'm so not used to the korean in the regular version 😭

Obviously, they can be off sometimes during their performances, especially when they are performing live because things happen. Sometimes there is water on the stage and someone slips or falls, sometimes someone forgets a move, sometimes someone might be sick and is a little off their normal game or energy, etc. which is normal but in Fake Love specifically when you mention them being a bit off that is actually how the dance is. If you notice J-hope (at the center) moves first then the rest of the members mirror him a few seconds later, like a delayed reaction. There are multiple times within their choreos where one member's action or move controls the actions of the others and this is an example of that. In Fake Love, especially in their special performances that have extended choreo or dance breaks, there is a lot of allusions to puppets/dolls and being controlled, hence it is shown conceptually in the moves.

35:50 That that is harder than BTS’s latest choreography because “Permission to dance” (their latest song) has a purposefully simple choreography so that people can do the dance. But at the same time, this must have been filmed when either BTS had recently had a consent or were (soon) preparing for one and then they would presumably have been running through lots of older choreographies some of which are very complex and energetic. But I guess that’s easier to him because they’re choreographies he’s done so many times.

Jungkook being main vocalist and sub rapper at the same time..is the beauty of jungkook lol he wasn’t only rapping he was still main vocalist from the beginning… their music was just more hip hop focused. Honestly their earlier dancing was actually more precise and hard hitting with a lot more switches in fast ways… some of their best choreo is baby bts . Ida s has a video called “Bts best dance break practices” that has a bunch of those good ones or also if you watch rise of bangtan you will see all of that behind the scenes that your missing from everything you’ve seen… bc rise of bangtan basically covers everything you’re doing but also a lot more especially background that is why a lot is still difficult for you to comprehend … but you know it’s there if you want to educate yourself on that stuff .. or if it doesn’t matter then it doesn’t matter . Up to you man

As another commenter said these are filmed so the whole dance can be watched without interruption. The other part of it is that ones you're looking at could be considered more of a rehearsal than an actual practice. They've been through the learning and failed attempts stage and now they are rehearsing the dances. I was out getting into a lot of dancing lingo they don't bump into each other because they practiced that spacing referred to as Windows. They know they can back up without looking and they won't be running into anyone.

The thing that makes PSY’s choreography unique is that it’s almost all non-dance moves. He turns mundane activities into dance: walking out a door, looking at the sun, pointing up, down, left, right, having a brawl. And of course A LOT of pantomime about riding a horse. I think I spotted only two parts that are true “dance moves” - the shoot and light feet. The rest is very much like a Broadway musical style of choreography, which you do not see a lot of in K-pop. Another group that does this is Seventeen.

that part where you mentioned that you can still see them where they are slightly off is actually not hahaha, that was intended. They do a lot of what they call an overlapping choreographic form in which one to two or more dancers perform a sequence in intervals. J-hope is the center on that part and are leading the others. You can also see them do it in their "Butter" grammy performance where they lift the side of their jackets over their face before that awesome interlocking jacket dance break. You can also see that in most of their choreos. Most, if not all, of these released dance practices are already the "perfected" or final versions, they also release some crack version hahaha like "Go Go" where V dressed up as Snow White and the halloween version of "War of Hormones". Check em out too, it's really fun! If you would like to see the production part, you can watch the shooting sketches or behind the scenes usually released as Bangtan Bombs. They have some vids/songs that show the choreo process like "That That" and "Butter Remix" dance by the 3Js (J-hope, Jungkook and Jimin).

Im trying to type because i thibk i'd forget this once i finished watching On fake love the part where you said they're a bit off, that was the actual movr. Others were about 1 sec delayed than Jhope. But itvs always that way. The first time i've seen the choreo i felt the same wy that it's a bit off, but it's just how it supposed to be lol On Mic Drop, the audio difference was there are 2 versions of Mic Drop. The original one, it was used on the practice video you watched, it sounded more raw and fewer english lines. The MV was the steve aoki remix, more translated lines aere used for mass consumption. Regarding hip thrusts, you need to see Baepsae 😆 dance practice and live performance haha! Yes. JHOPE is the main dancer. Mr. SON is their main choreographer. You've seen him on the behind the scenes videos you've watched just now. You can see his full face near the end with RM rhe guy wearing brown when rm was holdong the stash/pole. He's been with bts since the beginning up until now. He presents the whole choreography and bts, mainly jhope, gives his own inputs and changes along the way during the practice. Ah, finished it! Just got to pause it to do something. I really enjoyed your reactions. Haha! More power to your channel! Congrats on getting 5k. You deserve more subs! #Roadto10k

Yeah it’s bc in Fake Love the others dance to the ad-lib that comes after every line during that part (j-hope’s verse). Also, BOTH Jimin and j-hope are main dancers. I think what you meant is that J-hope’s the dance leader?

Actually the "Mic Drop" one is the original remix by Desiigner, the one by Steve Aoki came later. Personally, I preferred the Aoki's one.

okayyy I don't know if you are aware but it's Festa right now! Festa happens every year before bts' birthday (13 june) and lasts round two weeks. usually we get some kind of schedule for it. during Festa they release never seen old content and completely new stuff. photoshoots, projects, even songs (free releases on soundcloud) like Ddaeng, Still With You or Bicycle and others! this year we are treated with dance practices that were never released before, we've seen these choreographies only in mvs and love performances :) some of them are quite old, like Butterfly and Am I Wrong, and it makes me wonder just how much content BigHit has in their bag that we don't know about...

You can tell how hard they work when they dance. It's powerful, but so clean. 💜 I recommend you watch the Halloween dance practice version. They are hilarious. My favorite is 21 century Girl and GoGo. 🤣💜

Thanks!! Every single minute of this was awesome... It's doesn't matter if you keep repeting "it's so good" hehehe because it is!! I love to watch their "practice" because this way we can see all of them at the same time, the footwork, we can observe individually anyone... a lot of details than we can notice because of the camera work... Thanks again, very good job!

This was awesome! Thank you! I kept waiting for the Danger dance practice to come up and after about 3/4 of the way through I realized you haven’t reacted to Danger yet lol! It’s one of my favorite dance practices because of the precision and footwork. I’m also anticipating your reaction to Bapsae (crow tit) dance practice as well as the many War of Hormone dance practices and the Halloween dance practices as those are all just fun. So many things I wanted to say while you were watching this but I can only remember a couple of them now so here ya go. Jimin is fierce but he is also the sweetest person ever and will always go the extra mile to make you smile. Also, there’s a performance of idol where during the part when the members and back up dancers are kickin it and the staff were underneath the stage holding it up because they feared it was going to collapse. I believe there’s a video of it. Finally, CONGRATULATIONS on five thousand subs, I just know this number will keep growing!

I can't sleep at the moment (it's the middle of the night) because the new album is coming out in a few hours, so it's great that I could watch these dance practices with ya! The one for "Dionysus" is FIRE! I'm waiting for 10k subs on your channel and for more BTS comebacks :D Awesome adventure with this long video :D I love watching dance practices, because they motivated me to start exercising regularly for the first time in my life - I practice kpop choreography every few days and it makes me so happy

idol dance is very heavy for the stage set up with all the jumps they do, especially with dozens of back up dancers with them. one time during idol performance the stage was so unstable and shaking that staff below the stage had to literally hold it up with hands and urgently set up additional impromptu supports

I've seen others mention it, but when they were doing the dance practice for the 2018 MMAs, JK was trying to get the guys to film for his "Golden Closet Films" (GCF) videos. He has a hobby of doing video edits, and he's extremely talented. He hasn't done them recently -- I think the latest one was GCF in Helsinki. I think it would be a great reaction series for you to do! Here's the his videos in order with a link to the playlist -- ru-vid.com/group/PL5hrGMysD_GvSDAB-u5HNy4NtUxYkHwrg GCF in Tokyo - Nov 2017 GCF in Osaka - Apr 2018 GCF in USA - July 2018 GCF in Saipan - July 2018 GCF in Newark - Oct 2018 GCF 3J @ MMA 2018 Practice - Dec 2018 GCF in Helsinki - Dec 2019

it's weird to hear anyone refer to anyone in kpop as 'not a dancer' because 98% of the people in kpop are professional dancers they just have other positions they're assigned. Same with anyone being surprised that a rapper can also sing , like it's a requirement to get into training.

also how do they line up without bumping into each other? they practice 15-16 hours a day so I guess it's the result of their hardwork and efforts, that's dedication! but still, they do make mistakes too - they sometime crash into each other, they slip, they forget the moves and the formation but hey they're human! and there's a compilation for that too 😆
