I love that you got to see more of the chaotic side of BTS. When they aren’t busy practicing and being serious and professional, BTS are often very goofy and chaotic.

The karaoke version was a whole chaotic mess 😂 I’m so happy you found it lol they actually posted a making of video as well for that one, you’ll see each subgroup choreographing their own video and it was an even bigger mess haha In case u want to check them out, Butter actually had other remixes with their own MVs! The Hotter version sounded more electronic while the Cooler remix sounded rock-ish, and both MVs were full of funny outtakes. They used the same sets so it might not be worth a new video for you but I’m greedy so I highly recommend watching them ☺️ Butter really was such a fun era! Also you got it right-Yoongi did have his shoulder surgery before Butter came out!

The attention to detail is amazing to the point that even the elevator buttons have their logo on them. - Yes, this was Suga's first mv after his shoulder surgery. - They filmed for Jimmy Fallon on the World Cup Bridge in Seoul a couple of days before the official bridge opening. (S. Korea was in national lockdown because of the pandemic so they couldn’t travel abroad) - It took J-Hope an entire hour to not look disgusted eating that butter. 😂

yoongi is often called minstradamus or another saying we have is "what yoongi wants yoongi gets" haha bc whenever he sais he wants or wishes for something as part of bts, it becomes true soon! he said billboard is next > in the following years bts music indeed entered bb charts he hoped they will get a daesang (grand prize at korean award shows) > soon they got their first one and never looked back he said he wants them to become the most influential artists in the world > they were named next generation leaders by time magazine he said he wants stadium tour even if it's possible even for a few artists only to gather that much audience > here comes the LY tour soon he wanted #1 on billboard 200 with an album > welcome, Love Yourself: Tear he said he wanted a #1 on bb hot 100 > enter Dynamite, the first song by bts we charted #1 for two weeks he also wanted to attend grammys > they attended even before they were nominated. same happened with performing and being nominated - yoongi wants yoongi gets that's the rule of the universe when we chared butter #1 on bb hot 100 week after week after week yoongi on a vlive said he thinks butter is able to stay first on a six week too. his wish is our command :) butter overall stayed at the first place for 7 weeks in a row. because he also said that he thinks permission to dance that was released by that time will replace butter. exactly this happened on the 8th week, and then butter replaces ptd back for the 9th and 10th weeks. and then we repeaked it one more time in september when remix with megan dropped, so it's 10 weeks on the first place for butter haha after that billboard got salty and changes the rules so the radio play is now the main driving force to chart :/

They are the strangest combo of utterly hard working professionals who are soooo un serious and ridiculous given the slightest opportunity. Love them.

Trivia Time! The bridge is in Seoul, crossing the Han River. The World Cup Bridge was nearing the end of its construction when BTS filmed here. BTW, there are 31 bridges in Seoul.

There are THREE other versions of the Butter video: "Hotter Remix," "Cooler Remix," and "Holiday Remix." Trust us when we say WE WILL WATCH YOUR REACTION TO THOSE AS WELL!. We love it! These videos have to be watched and rewatched (or rewound) to catch all their crazy antics. It's hilarious!!!

It amazes me every time that they built that gold deck with the lights. I know they avoid CGI etc and that it’s not necessarily a difficult build, yet somehow this being practical always makes me 😳 I have no idea why that gets me given their other sets in videos and performances, but it does.

Jungkook's long hair can be written in history books this is so iconic he had long hair twice in 2019 and 2020 it's gorgeous

The "hats" they were wearing karaoke version are their BTS 21 characters. They have a line of characters that they created that are really cute. There are BTS 21 mvs and merchandise.

The plentiful karaoke (noraebang) in Korea have tons of accoutrements like cymbals, hats, crazy ties and wigs, etc. BTS happen to be wearing their BT21 character hats. The private rooms are basically alcohol and snack central for anyone from singles to after work parties. Those huge ass bags of popcorn are normal offerings at markets. Korea has aspects that are truly magical. 🤣😂🤣

This was great, thank you Mike 😊🙏 Butter was the right song, for the right time - given what we had all been going through. I love the “Hotter” remix video for Butter, it is hilarious and I highly recommend it - but you gotta watch what happens in the background, the whole way through…And yeah, the choreo for the 3J’s, for the Megan rap is so cool - the making of video for that shows just how hard they worked for that (roughly) minute of video… BTS somehow manages to turn their hair into art, and part of the performance 😂🤷‍♂️ It’s often distracting… Jimin’s unicorn hair was fabulous, and I loved Jungkook’s long purple hair…Not crazy about Hobi’s Buttery-yellow, but he goes short and platinum right after this (for PTD) and that is incredible on him, he looks like such a superstar, or maybe an angel... Joon always rocks pink, although he says he doesn’t like it himself, I think he looks amazing (so does most Army). I have never coloured my hair, so I’m fascinated with the effects they achieve, it’s like I live vicariously through these dudes 😂 💜💜

JKs hair was actually purple, the chroma key in the "gym" scene made it look blue. Also helooked different because his face had thinned out from an extreme diet he went on for the BUTTER promotions. He only drank water for 5 days. Not the healthiest. But fortunately he did fine. Love your reactions so much.

As everyone's said, you missed a couple - the Hotter Remix and Holiday Remix are my favs. They did a whole BTS week on Jimmy Fallon where they performed songs in various Korean landmarks - the performances are amazing (no surprise there)! By the way, Butter was the 2nd English single, Permission To Dance was the 3rd one. The PTD video is a sort continuation of the Butter video. The waitress appears on the 1st scene with the butter on the flapjack. But Butter stayed on the charts the longest.

Hair commentary is welcome!! The 'karaoke' video is one of my faves. I think there is a vertical version too? Can't remember. Anyway, in Korea, they call it nore-bang ("noh-reh-bahng", literally means song room). People often go in big groups, get drunk, and do exactly this - get super chaotic and kooky together. But I think the costumes are just BTS being BTS for us

Never apologize for your hair. It is great! My own hair (43y.o. female) is almost to my knees. My husband cares for it due to a promise I made him when we got married. I would wear it as long as he wanted if he would brush and put it up for me. He has kept his word for twenty years. So long hair is to be loved in my opinion.

tho butter came our right at the end of my masters when i was a week away from defending my thesis, it just made my life so much brighter. i still love this song, it's probably my fav out of all their singles and title tracks. still every time i hear it or watch the mv, it makes me ~happy~

They’ve all tried the longer haired look. Jimin, SUGA, RM and Hobi all have longish hair at the moment. I prefer the shorter styles but Yoongi looks cute with his longer hair. The other thing they try is a perm. Tae looks great with a light perm but ended up looking like Bob Ross for a while when he overdid it a bit. It suited him though. When I was young butter was expensive so we only had it if we didn’t put anything else on the bread. I love the taste and will eat a little bit on its own.

Dear Mike, it would be good if you watch some good documentaries about them. You don't need to react to them! But I think it will be very interesting for you to know their backgrounds, their path, even to understand better some lyrics (like their cyphers -that are awesome! -, outro:tear, etc) The main ones are Introduction to the members (there are more than one, all good) and Rise of Bangtan (the most perfect documentary, have a lot of episodes, most of them have bonus and deleted scenes too, Aneesa did an awesome work!) There are actually making of videos (Bangtan B0mbs) for the karaoke and 3J performance. Talk about professional dancers! They are so exacting. There are other versions of the Butter MV too, really worth watching. And Megan joined them one night in LA as did Chris Martin, wonderful surprises. The bridge performance was epic and one of the first of many epic performances. Did you notice their hair colors were different?
