The basic rundown of the lore is: There are two parallel versions of earth called alpha and omega. Alpha earth is where we spend most of our time, and the "good guys" are alpha earth's VALORANT team. It's kind of just a futuristic version of earth with some people having superpowers (radiants). They're kind of outlawed but that's not too relevant to the core story. It's also important to note that Radianite is an important element, they mentioned in one cinematic that it powers a large chunk of Alpha earth's energy. Alpha VALORANT represents the defending side of the game. Omega earth is the second earth. We see omega earth for the first time in the 5th cinematic (shattered) when alpha killjoy, Reyna, and neon enter through the portal. Omega earth is different in a few ways, one big one being that their cities (or at least, the one that we see) is underwater. Additionally, instead of being a shady hidden organization like on alpha, VALORANT agents are like superheroes on omega, hence the comics. Omega has a problem though, they need Radianite to sustain their underwater cities, and they don't have enough. So, they find a way to reach Alpha earth, and use the spike (bomb thing) to steal Radianite from areas where it's stored, so they can bring it home. Omega represents the attacking side in the game, except on one map which is located on omega earth. So, basically, the lore of the game is a cool way to explain why you can have two of the same character fighting each other, the explanation being that the defending agent is the Alpha earth agent, while the attacker is their omega counterpart.

Out of the 5 cinematics, I enjoyed the third one the most because it showed a lot of the agents. I hope they show even more like chamber, astra etc in the cinematics.

Funny thing is the cinematics are pretty true to the gameplay with agent abilities..

The story basically goes like this: There's Alfa Earth (our Earth) and Omega Earth (Parallel world) in both Earth's there is a Valorant Protocol (Organization that the agents are part of) Omega Earth Is dying bc of climate change so they travel to Alpha Earth to get Radianite (super important material that can give people powers and is a source of energy) to help them build cities that can withstand the climate changes, and like CSGO there's an attacking team (Alpha Earth) and a defending team (Omega Earth) fighting to plant and defuse the bomb, in this case the spike. In the last cinematic we can see alpha Earth going to Omega Earth to find out why they're trying to steal Radianite, that's when Killjoy (tech girl) discovers that they're building the life support system, also the place they're in is a completely sunken city in Portugal, that's why at the end you see the big dome underwater.

Yeah you talked over some info points and subtitles are a must because of all the foreign languages are translated but here's the gist: An alternate world that is similar but different than ours is making constant incursions all around the world to obtain Radianite. Our vantage point is from our Earth, who are constantly being attacked and raided so yes like in any war we believe our characters to be good guys. First episode shows off what Radiants can do. Second is more of the same just with our side being successful this time. Third you find out what we use Radianite for and that there is in fact a dual reality. Fourth is just more showing off of individual skills and team dynamics. Fifth is our first attempt at scouting them as our team goes to their dimension. There we find out we are viewed as the villains & it's not a weapon but life support system due to the Earth in this reality being flooded somehow. You see whales swimming in the horizon in the final scene.

So, the new episode is out! It's called "Revelation". It's VERY good

the over arching story, simplified: so there was an event called the First Light, which brought an element known as Radianite to Earth. This is the element that gives people their superpower and are called Radiants. Radianite is also used as a power supply and is so strong that it powers up 2/3 of Earth's power. This is all done by the Kingdom Corporation who used Radianites as power source and built an organization called the Valorant Protocol, a group of agents to keep the world peace and stop rogue Radiants from causing havoc. In the first cinematic, we see two Radiants (Jett and Phoenix) battling it out for the thing that Jett's carrying, the Spike which is a bomb that can steal Radianite. When the bomb explodes, it made Venice float which created one of the playable Valorant maps, Ascent. Because of this, the people of Alpha Earth thought that the Radiants were the bad guys who look to cause harm. So then they discovered that there's actually another version of Earth. The original Earth where most of the game takes place is Alpha Earth, and the other one is Omega Earth. Riot actually made this lore so that the fact that players battling 5v5 in maps using the same agents is canon and made sense. So during the first cinematic, it was actually an agent from Alpha Earth and Omega Earth battling it out instead of it being Radiants from Alpha Earth. Omega Earth agents are trying to invade Alpha Earth to steal their Radianite resources because theirs are running out. This is why in the last cinematic, they were seen as heroes since they're trying to save their world. if you want more cinematics to react to, watch agent reveals

So, basically they are fighting another earth which is basically a parallel world and runned out of resources, which would also theoretically be their future, so they are trying to steal radianite (an energy resource) from this reality to survive. The Spike teletransports radianite to their world.
