REACTING TO Floor Jansen "Adagio" Lara Fabian (cover) 

Ok, due to some comments, I think that most of you have misunderstood me. I didn't say Lara is better that Floor as a singer, I just say that IN THIS SONG, THIS SONG, In my opinion, I prefer Lara. Be respectful, please.

It's not about whether one singer is better than another. Floor made a cover of Fabian's song. And as Floor always does, she has done this in her own way. So if you want to rate the cover, you actually rate the way the artist has filled it in. Without a doubt, the Fabian original is the most beautiful performance for a lot of people. But I praise Floor because she gives her own interpretation to every cover she does. For the rest, it's just a matter of taste, and there's no arguing about that. 😉

Floor is a dramatic soprano,a storyteller, she feels the emotion of the lyrics.Floor sings what she feels.None better.

I think a lot of people don't realize that Floor is going to make any song her own, and interpret it in her own way. She is not going to do a karaoke version of the original. Also this recording of Floors was done in her home studio, if it was recorded in a more professional environment or perhaps remastered, I think the opinions would be different as well.

Honest opinion but.......for me Floors version is much a storytelling version. Really amazing how she can do that in any song that she preform. Thx for this reaction. For me I'll go for the Queen of the North 😉👍😉

No other artist touches me like Floor does, but anyone has a different opinion and I totally respect your honesty.

Although I prefer Floor's version, it's because she sings it in a more metal style. But, I also think Lara's version is so very beautiful. If that were more my style of music, I'm sure I would prefer her version. Ultimately, we are just lucky to live in a time with such wonderful singers!!

I just love both, Lara as well as Floor in the way they perform and sing. It's like comparing apples and pears. You can love only apples or only pears. But there are people who love both. That is the same with Lara e Floor, both women are unique in their own way. Variety is the spice of life.

I always choose Floor above all others, simply because I think Floor is the best female singer of our time. No doubt for me there...but thats just my humble opinion

After listening Floor and Lara back to back Floor's voice is "sharper" whereas Lara sounds "softer". Difficult to explain, but hopefully someone catches what I mean. Not saying which is better, that's absolutely impossible when it comes with these two fantastic artists.

I have met Lara Fabian twice,here in the Netherlands. And i have a ticket for the concert from Floor Jansen and Henk Poort together on May 30th here in Amsterdam. (Was first october 18th and then december 13th,but changed into May 30th) Lara Fabian is also very great and i agree with you. For me the song suits better to Lara.

I have seen a couple of Lara Fabian versions - studio and live. I prefer this because I find I relate more to the beautiful timbre of Floor Jansen's voice in comparison to Lara Fabian's. I think this was a challenge for Floor, even more than her cover of Alone - and I really think Ann Wilson is one of the very best. But to put yourself in a position where people will make the comparison to a great singer is tough. I'd disagree with the suggestion in your concluding comments that, somehow, Floor does these covers to make them 'better' than the original, or some other version (of course Heart's Alone is also a cover). She is obviously choosing songs she loves and sings with absolute respect for the other artists. No doubt she really loves Fabian's voice and this song and isn't in any way trying to be 'better'. Creativity isn't a race. What she does is 'make this her own' by producing her version. It is different. It is no better nor worse than Lara Fabian's version. Some, like myself, will prefer Floor's version to Lara's; others, like yourself, Lara's to Floor's.

I think there is a battle going between fans of both singers, the singers theirselfs would laugh about it. They have both other versions of the song and both are beautiful. Witch you prefer, is for everybody different. I know witch one is mine and i hold it by myself (I'm not in a battle, because I like them both but prefer one of them)

Floor hit the same notes that Lara did in the song BTW.. but it's a cover, and as you can see, Floor is no a copy cat, she likes to do her own version of whatever song she is singing, so.. thank you for your reaction!

So some people prefer one version over the other, it is all subjective. It is unnecessary to compare that way. Very different singers.

She is absolutely right. She didn't say that Floor is a better singer. She just said that in this particular song she preferred Lara's version. There is no need for people to make such comments. This is just a reaction with people's comments. Be nice and respectful to each other. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Both versions are amazing and they are both amazing singers! You can't compared Lara Fabian who sang it during a concert and her who made it in studio (and best track was certainly that).

I’ve listened again to the version of Lara and definitely Floor has more feelings, more life, Lara sings well but Floor gives life to this song!

What I admire of you is your honesty. Lara or Floor, you choose for Lara. Lara aimes more on classic lisseners, Floor on metal lisseners. Perhaps you don't know, but Adagio is a classical piece, composed by Albinoni and first executed in 1708. It is still very popular and still very often played in concerthalls and on funerals. Lara gave it a text, a wonderful text and she sang it brilliant. By the way, Floor sings in 5 or 6 languages. You see, I am proud of Floor, she is Dutch too. I am 80 years and since over a year metalfan, thanks to Nightwish and Floor.

There are many great covers of countless songs that a lot of people think are better than the original but by nature, the original is perfect. I personally think Floor is the best singer on Earth for my taste but it should be pretty standard to separate an original from any and all covers. I could name 20 covers I like better than originals but I could never say they are objectively better.

Never compare, every singer has their own style....I listened to Lara and she was fantastic as well as Floor was fantastic....Floor also sings in five languages....

The only thing better about the original version is that Lara Fabian dressed more appropriately for this song. I mean her beautiful leather coat.

Lara obviously is a good singer. But to me when you compare her to Floor, it's like with all other singers you compare to Floor: they seem to sing the song, whereas Floor becomes the song. In my opinion, Floor is the best storyteller I've ever heard/seen. Every time Floor performs, she hits me in the heart and soul as no one ever did. But I can still enjoy all other good music... And when it comes to this song, nothing beats the instrumental, classical version of Albinoni's Adagio.

While l watched your video there was on the same time a classmate of Floor on the television Jaqueline Govaert with her band Krezip it was a performance from a longtime ago but still so good. Maybe you can do a reaction on it , Krezip with I would stay. Another classmate is Danny Vera je was last year number one in the top 2000 chart all times with his song Rollercoaster, also a great song. They did the rock academy for six years with eachother.

Bunch of heavier songs as well: "Call Me When You're Sober" and "My Heart is Broken" are favorites, but there are a few head bangers as well like "Swet Sacrifice" and "Weight of the World". Just a suggestion.

I have also listened to Lara Fabian as well, absolutely wonderful.. But, to start, Floor don't do covers like most do covers.. She takes a song and does it her way, I don't think I've ever seen a Floor Jenson "cover' where she has tried to reproduce the original performance,. She has always taken the songs and made them in her image.. Anyone can prefer a particular version of any song. But, you did say, Lara Fabian can sing "anything"... never heard Lara sing a Metal song, like Floor dose.. Maybe I missed the songs when she is singing with the deep guttural growls, like Floor dose.. I have, heard the the songs where Floors male vocalist counterparts in a song jump up into the tenor range to sing a section of the song so Floor can drop down to sing the low parts that they can't reach... You'll have to let me know about the songs that Lara sings where they do that. Otherwise, I'm kind of wandering, what do you mean by "anything"?..

I love so much floor and nightwish but the best version, most emotional of this song is Dimash.

As much that I love Floor technique, her tone is too bright/radiant, this song need to be a bit darker, bit of struggle, vulnerability in the voice as what Lara & Dimash done. But the distortion guitar lick sounded in this cover great though, kudo for that.

Lara's version of the song is great. I'm super familiar to the song but when Floor did the cover she put it in a new level and I loved it. I know most people will say nothing beats the original but for me it depends on the song. In this particular song, Floor's version is better. There's no need to explain, you can listen all of her singing style in that song. So, yeah , HAIL TO MY VALKYRIE QUEEN!

I think she really enjoyed singing this song, therefore I enjoyed too. Lara has a different approach. Also, great. Which one is better? Dimash :). While Floor is a great vocalist, I had to compare with Dimash, I heard him so many times. I would never know how many difficulties she had in this song, if I did not hear it from Dimash. At places, it was a pure struggle, like carrying heavy bags upstairs. .... Still, I loved it.

Классно ! Но на коду пошла один в один как Димаш , но наш Димаш лучше !!!!! Такую экспрессию создал Димаш в этом величайшем произведении , что повторить просто невозможно , тем более в его диапазоне 💖 .

This is not really a cover from Fabian! The peace, music and lyrics, was originally written by Remo Giazotto (1919-1998). This dude claimed the music was based on unfinished work from the renowned composer Albinoni of which he found the partitures after a WW2 bombing in 1945... later it became clear that he (Remo) wrote the intire thing himself and Albinoni had nothing to do with it...😊 The piece has since then been interpreted and performed by many singers (even The Doors recorded an adaptation) and often used as moviescore.

Lara Fabian is a great singer with great technique, but her singing style is a bit exaggerated. Jensen's floor is much more natural. The floor is unique in that. But that's my opinion.
