Here in America we have all these big talent shows that were either started here or adopted from another country. I am so surprised we don't have a show like this here. This is amazing to watch!
Many American TV shows have been bought from The Dutch. Another big one is 'Big Brother' wich was originally a Dutch show. But the rights to copy that show were sold across the globe by The Dutch inventors.
The main rule in this show is that singers can bring their managers and producers. So the collaboration is between artists and not their entourage. This cannot be done in the US
I was there at Wacken in 2013, when Floor and Nightwish co-headlined the evening.... 80.000 + insane Germans, Dutch, even Mexicans and Braslilians were there. Perfect feast of friendship and music (and a whole lot of beer, constantly...)
I was there too 😀It was amazing. Till this time I just knew Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon and she combined both styles of singing. I knew Floor allready from here band Afterforever.
I actually feel proud of our Dutch singers. We are a tiny country with so many talented singers. Must be something in our water. (and we have a lot) What I really love in Holland is that there is no envy or competition among Dutch singers. They love to sing together and try different genres and have a lor of respect and love for eachother and their work. Floor....I know her from After Forever, we have the same age and it still amazes me what the stage does with her. She is a very humble quiet sweet person, but in stage she becomes this absolute Goddess with a voice that I never heard before. This month I went to see Nightwish in the Arena in Amsterdam with my teenage daughter....and we still feel like we have fairy dust all over us. Magical. Tuomas, Emmpu, Troy, Kay Floor......AND HENK POORT YEAH on stage with nightwish...what a beautiful evening to experience with my daughter. Every time I see Nightwish live, it is pure magic. Holland has so many talented female Metal singers too. Ofcourse Floor but aso Sharon from Within Temptation, Simone from Epica (with bandmembers from after forever) Anneke and so many many more.
Tim *smoked* Nemo! Brilliant! 🏆 Also, a beautiful song that Floor wrote, too, and *wonderfully* performed! The trumpet player and the saxxist were *genius* doing that harmony! during 'Hotel California'! 😎 Holy Whaat?? She sings *folk* music?? O.O Sweet Iesu!! Henk *drilled* 'Sound of Silence'!! "😲" Well, I know this was Floor's show, but I have to say that I personally loved Tim's astonishing performance of 'Nemo'-that was lit! Total fire!

Still highly impressed by Tim, Samantha and of course Henk. Maybe the most from the later two, because they were so far out of their comfort zone that their contributions must be really appreciated.
The singer with the song Strong, she did it very beautiful! And Henk Poort with his version of Disturbed with the song the Sound of silence, was also very beautiful!!
Aw, man. To see Floor cry during "Strong"... It's weird how you feel like you know Floor, from seeing her in all the videos and interviews etc. What an amazing human being she is. So talent, yet humble and dedicated to her craft. So epic, and yet also so willing to share herself and be vulnerable. Finally, I gotta say that I love Rolf, too. He's so sensitive and cool.
I agree with you! Strong is such an amazing song, you can feel her emotion so deep. Such a beautiful song she wrote for her mother...How proud her mother must be.
Same here man. I was all teary with her and Emma did an amazing rendition. Tbh when I heard she was a RU-vid cover singer I wasn’t expecting much but she has a beautiful soft voice
I think Floor has done more to smash the stigma and stereotype of metal than anyone in recent history. She's absolutely right in that people don't even give it a chance, because they've already convinced themselves they won't like it, or maybe they just don't want to like it for fear of seeming unpopular. The fact that she's the only one there who has played to an 80k crowd kind of destroys that lie, and maybe more people shouldn't be so stuck up about certain genres.
In Finland Nightwish is quite loosely considered as an metal band (when comparing to the stereotypes) thanks to the symphonic elements in their music. It's just great music that most likes regardless of the age (0-100+) and music genre they usually listen.
maybe in netherlands , even before she was big other singer had done that already, picking up on the tail end doesnt make you the leader! tarja, inspired simone from epica, other famles singers , maybe read a book with pop ups!

Yes I got to say I love the format of this show. Just a group of singers from different genres singin tributes to one another and discovering and sharing meaningfull music between them. I wish they would do this in latín América it would be so awesome

this series made me laugh so much, even tho, this series, season was just about artists coming together, doing songs for each other, EVERYONE, wanted to impress FLOOR, even uncle Hank xD haha the most haha, still, this whole season was a joy to watch and wow, they all have such beautiful and amazing voices

Wow! As a Chilean, They Dance Alone produces a lot of feelings in me. Sting composed this protest song. The song is a metaphor referring to the mourning of Chilean women (arpilleristas) who dance the “cueca sola”, a solo variation of the national dance of Chile, carrying in their hands the photos of their missing loved ones. His song as a symbolic gesture against Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.

I just put Tim's Nemo on at 75% Speed it fits pretty good with the original tempo of the song :DD But I think his original adaptation fits the extra speed quite well. And once again thank you to Denise for translating, German and Dutch do have some overlap but I would have never understood everything, let alone the context!
@@stubones That's why Tero made it slower. When Tuomas wrote the song and first practiced it, it was supposed to be a faster at this level of speed. So Tim actually did the version of how Tuomas wanted nemo to be.
Have to say that Henk, Ruben and Samantha really killed it for me. I really enjoyed their renditions of the songs. Felt like Nemo was a bit too big for Tim but he still did it well. Emma impressed me with Strong too. Thank you for the subtitles Denise.

Tim's version of Nemo is sweet! i love it❤️ Ruben, wonderfully soothing and beautiful version. Emma's version of the song strong hit hard. this was my mother's life and this is the same for me. pains, they are hidden behind a smile. Rolf's version of Hotel California was amazing! I enjoyed it very much, what a wonderful childhood memory it brought to my mind. Samantha's version of the song mama, oh how beautiful, flowing, full of emotion, wow! and Henk, what a great bet on the song soun of silence! absolutely amazing sound!
