Hi Janine, I really admire your approach to business, but I think Codie's point may have been overlooked here. She's highlighting the challenges of the average person starting businesses like restaurants or hotels. It's oversimplifying to gauge success by looking at examples like Gordon Ramsay or Lululemon. If we only focus on the biggest success stories, every business would seem fantastic. Starting a restaurant or hotel involves numerous risks, especially for newcomers with limited capital. While all businesses have their challenges, some are inherently more manageable for average individuals. Naturally, the level of risk someone is willing to take varies from person to person. Certainly not implying that I possess anywhere near your level of expertise, but dismissing Codie's perspective as uninformed ("She has no idea what she's talking about") isn't entirely fair. She brings significant experience from her time in both the corporate world (at Goldman Sachs and Vanguard) and her own entrepreneurial endeavours, which have contributed to her wealth-building journey. In any-case, all different perspectives and keen for more content - a collaboration/podcast with Codie would be interesting. Cheers,

I have to disagree with you. C Sanchez is presenting probabilities and I personally had or invested in some of the businesses she had mentioned and can confirm what she is saying. Not sure if you had or currently own businesses to share your experience. Again she is not saying all retailers are bad but presenting probabilities and nothing wrong with that.

Codie is trying to appeal to the average person who wants to start/buy a business. A restaurant would be a very costly investment for your average person and you wouldn't have the same notoriety and customer base as a millionaire such as Ramsey. Your commentary seems out of touch with the average person looking to get into business.
