Are they even a golden generation? The British media won't tell you this but the so-called 'best league in the world' is the best because of all the foreign talent. Look at the top 8 teams... their best players are Egyptian, Belgian, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese. Consequently the English players are overrated and it's no shock they only preform for their clubs. We saw the exact same with the 'golden generation' in South Africa 2010 and they got bombed out of it all tournament.
@@IrishBorussen its not that complicated, england have world class players in half of the positions as well as decent depth, theres no argument whether these players are 'overrated', bellingham has been the best player for the best club in the world currently, kane putting up lewandowski numbers and winning the european golden boot, scoring a hattrick against yours truly, and you yourself admitted that the premier league IS the best, be it because of foreign players or not. and in this best league in the world, trent, rice, saka, gordon, they are phenomenal players with phenomenal performances and stats, foden the player of the season, palmer matching haaland in G/A, theres no doubt that this is a golden generation
@@upisntdownsilly You're right about quality there's no denying there are some incredible English players, just the media both overhypes and erodes them at the same time. Bellingham and Kane are the two who defy that overrated tag because they're truly world class. I don't buy that to be honest. Very very good players but they get overhyped coz of their nationality and don't really show it for England. Rice dropped an absolute howler yesterday, Foden has been anonymous but surrounded by Spaniards, Portuguese and Belgians he looks incredible (granted he's not playing through the centre), Saka blows hot and cold, Gordon can't get a look in. Long may this golden generation continue... so golden I've heard more chants about world wars than football haha
As a Belgian, I saw our golden generation get completely wasted by bad managers such as Martinez and Wilmots. I'd take them any day of the week over the disgusting negative football of Southgate FC. At least our games were exciting. This England team will put you to sleep and when you wake up, you're out of the tournament.
@@squidly1369The coach determines how that team plays and who plays where. Even if the players are playing poorly, Southgate doesnt put them in positions to win. Trent as a 6, Foden at LW, Kane dropping into midfield. They will not succeed in these positions.
Guys Kyle walker did an interview after the game apparently Southgate doesn’t tell them to park the bus or drop back at all they all do it on their own apparently
Loved watching all 4 defenders and the two defensive midfielders all marking Yusuf Poulsen, like he was gonna control the ball and take on 6 players. Could’ve just stuck Guehi on him with one of the others to cover and that’s enough, then stones and the fullbacks can push forward but nope
Just compare argentinas game today vs England. Argentina wasn’t parking the bus after their first goal against Canada in the 49th minute. They knew they needed another to feel comfortable they kept playing their attacking game. Maybe learn from them

Gareth Southgate is a great person, he’s a role model, and an ambassador for England, but as a manager and getting the best out of the players we have, he’s way too cautious. Kane was tracking back in because there were holes in the middle. The midfield sat on the centre backs, and the is no balance... I am envious of the teams attacking down both wings

Rice wasn't great today, but he's simply left alone today, he had no partner with him in midfield, Trent played 50 minutes and didn't get a single interception, block, nor tackle in, it's literally Rice vs the entire Danish midfield.
We absolutely do need to get rid of him cause it is completely negative, the moment Denmark scored, they started pressing us and we had 3 players who were pressing. Also when you are parking the bus and then chasing the ball it's insanely difficult and tiring. With the talent we have, we shouldn't be playing this way. As a Leeds fan if Bielsa was England manager we'd be unstoppable. Hell if Bielsa was England manager last Euros we would have won it. Southgate's tactical ineptitude is criminal.
The strongest part about Kane’s game is his about to be both the best striker and best playmaker on the field. You need inside forwards to make run off of him. Gordon is the exact profile for the left, he will provide an outlet equal to what Son was able to do for Tottenham. Saka can play this role equally well. Drop Trent and play a midfield on Jude, rice, and either Foden or Gallagher/Wharton depending if you want to play attacking or defensive. Trippier has been okay, but if you want more solidity play Gomez, who was excellent at LB for Liverpool this season. Too many ball reliant players on the pitch currently that he’s getting the best out of nobody.

you can't pause a Mark Goldbridge video and make him look good, trust me. I've tried not to do him dirty, but every time I pause, he has some odd expression on his face or he looks super bored or like he falls asleep. It is impossible to pause the video randomly and make him look good. you have to really focus on when to stop.
Goldbridge would manage England better than anyone right now, he understands what it means to England he understands what it SHOULD mean to these lads, as an American, England is much like Brazil constant flow of young talent that are frequently compared to and expected to be better than some of the greatest footballers that have ever walked the earth, and the minute the players don’t meet that expectation it’s almost like the whole country turns on them. Truly sad to see guys that should be in university being subjected to the same level of scrutiny as a fully grown adult let alone one of the legends of the game.
