When I started watching the show I couldn’t understand why I, a 49 year old man who is decidedly not sparkly, identified so strongly with Quinnie. When it was finally stated that Quinnie is autistic it all started to make sense. My entire life finally started to make sense. After months of blog reading, RU-vid watching, article reading, etc. with a drive to know everything typical of an autistic person I made an appointment with someone who specializes in autism. She was diagnosed as autistic as an adult herself. She confirmed my self realization with a diagnosis - I’m autistic. Thank you so much for helping me discover that I’m not broken. I’m just autistic.

The scene of quinni trying to wear fake eyelashes was weirdly very affirming for me. I didn’t wear much makeup for a long time because it was just uncomfortable. I don’t like full face foundation or fake eyelashes mostly. Eventually I did start wearing eyeliner and mascara a bit. But now I think I’m more willing to try wearing glitters and colourful eyeshadows! I got anxious about doing that before because like all the makeup tutorials are like “oh these eyelashes will pull it all together” or be like “no blemish’s” “let’s even put that skin tone!”

I've never felt more seen than with Quinni on this show. I made my parents watch it and as soon as they finished it my mom went and bought me your book for kindle 😭 Every little detail with her on screen was absolute gold. I loved it so much and can't wait for season 2!!! I'm so happy this show exists. That this character exists.

I can't begin to express just how real Quinni makes me feel. She makes me realise emotionally what I only knew logically, that there are people like me. That there are other people in the world who punch the floor and their thighs when they have a meltdown, who scream because there's no other way. People who can start out a train ride perfectly normal and end up overwhelmed and overstimulated. Quinni tells me that I'm not alone.

Finally finished season 1, can’t wait for season two. The portrayal of Quinni is so good, I’ve never experienced that type of representation before. In short thank you for bringing Quinni to our screens

quinni (and you) mean so much to me, more than I could possibly portray with my words. as a young queer afab autistic, quinni is the first time I have ever felt so seen or represented. the way she stims, the way she infodumps, her sensory overload, how she doesn't always understand sarcasm or people not being straightforward. I see myself in all these aspects of her and more and ive never had that before. and ive never had someone like me to look up to before. you are such an inspiration to me and keep me going. I dont really fit in anyway irl and am very lonely and sometimes I wish I was normal or feel like I'd be better off not here. but seeing a character and a person like me in the media makes me feel like I'm worthy and should exist. I love quinni with all my heart. I love you with all my heart. thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything, you have no idea how much it means to me.

Quinni means so much to me! I could see myself in her and I'd never had that experience before. And for someone who's masked heavily without even realising it (late diagnosed) that is a deeply healing experience, to see oneself. And that was what I needed to fully step into the positivity of my recent diagnosis (age 37) and really feel that yes autism may be my challenges, but it is also 💕my magic💕 To thank my parents for their support on my diagnosis journey I bought them a sweet little unicorn soft toy with the words "Thank you for helping me find my magic" on its belly (🤗🦄💕) and after I gave it to them and super enthusiastically explained all about Quinni and what a profound difference seeing her character on screen has made to me, my mum messaged me later to tell me she's named the unicorn Quinni!! So perfect!! Also one of the beautiful things that stood out for me for Quinni was how accepted and supported she was by her friends and family. That meant a lot to see. As well as noticing in her dialogue, she's actually probably the most caring and empathetic character (she'd never want to deliberaly hurt anyone and often points out when someone's being unkind and how another might feel, etc) which I thought was very clever on the part of the writers. It showed they'd really done their research. And how often do we see an autistic character portrayed as having empathy..?! As well as being dynamic and expressive and friendly. So so welcome to see that. This character has helped me so much. She made me feel represented and connected me to my younger self in such a healing way. Seeing her helped me feel much more positive and confident about my recent diagnosis and discovering what living authentically actually feels like. I know it's just a tv character, but at the same time it's kind of Everything..! 💖💖💖 Thank you Chloé, you are amazing and I'm so grateful for you and your light 🌸🌼🌹💐🌻🌺🌷🏵

my childhood and adolescence it was very difficult for me to feel identified with my peers. Now that I know that I am autistic, I really like to feel identified, that makes me happy.

I don't even think you'll read this but i started watching heartbreak high and I loved Quinni as a character, then the show kept going on and I noticed the part where they got overstimulated and LITERALLY I ALMOST CRIED BC THATS EXACTLY WHAT IT FEELS LIKE!! And it affects so many of my friendships and family life bc i get brushed off as not caring or being too sensitive and your character made me really really happy

I'm torn on the Quinni X Sasha storyline. On the one hand, it was so reassuring to see a NT actually care and accepting about Quinni. But on the other hand, the two were a bad fit for each other. Especially as seen in Episode 6. Since Season 2 is around the corner, I wonder what fans want to see. Should Quinni and Sasha try to patch things up? Or should there be a new love interest for Quinni? I had an idea for a possible new character for S2, they're a refugee character that was recently resettled in Australia with their family. As a result, they struggle with English. However Quinni ends up bonding with them, and she ends up finding new ways for the two of them to communicate with each other, and she shows her new LI a side of Australian life that most NT's would take for granted.

I cried when Quinni had a meltdown. I've seen on tv when characters reach their breaking point, and I've never found it relatable. That scene made me feel seen. My high speed data ran out when there was twenty minutes left of the last episode, so I didn't get to see all of Heartbreak High, but I'm glad to have watched what I did.

I watched heartbreak high as soon as it came out and I stimmed so much watching Quinni. I’ve forgotten some of the things that happened, but I do remember I had to take a break from watching one episode. It was the one where there was an event relating to Quinni’s special interest and Sasha was rude. That episode was hard to watch because I knew exactly what that’s like. Hi Chloé! I have no idea if you’re going to read my comment or not but I just finished watching Heartbreak High and it led me to find your channel (can’t wait to watch more of your content) and I just wanted to say your character Quinni makes me feel extremely happy. 💜 I’m 27 and female and I was never given a formal autism diagnosis and it isn’t something I’m financially able to pursue at this time and so I have struggled a lot with imposter syndrome where I’ve felt like maybe I’m too “normal” to be autistic while still knowing I’m too “weird” to be considered neurotypical. One of my biggest struggles is that I grew up with a younger brother who is also autistic and completely nonverbal with motor control issues and so I’ve felt guilty for trying to convince myself that I’m autistic when I have seemingly higher functioning (sorry I don’t like functioning labels but I’m struggling to figure out the right words to say so I hope I don’t offend you or anyone reading this) than him and so I must be pretending. Anyway back to seeing you in Heartbreak High, when I saw your character I immediately thought their style and personality was everything I aspired to be and there was just something intrinsic about the character I felt I related to, and this was completely before I had any clue that you or your character was autistic! When I watched the episode where Quinni says she’s autistic my mind was blown and I literally cried. Watching the scene where she becomes overstimulated on the date felt so relatable and hearing from your character that they were autistic I truly felt validated that maybe I’m not crazy and maybe I do actually know myself well enough to understand how I’m experiencing the world differently than others may be experiencing it. Anyway that’s all I really wanted to say, right now I kind of feel like Quinni when she met her favorite author and I know I’m rambling and I’m not even sure if you’ll read this but no matter what I’m just so thankful for watching you on that show. I am so happy that you are able to help young people through being Autistic helping Autistic people see that they deserve to be respected and to exist😃😃💖💖💖💖💖!! In High School, one of my Boyfriends in my Learning Disabled Class is Autistic. When I went to High School, there was no mention of Autism and zero understanding. For me, I am Neurotypical and Straight and my Autistic Ex-Boyfriend in High School also is straight, but I thought that Sasha just loved Quinni and that is why she did not want to get her into drugs, even though Sasha was doing drugs herself. Just like my Ex- Boyfriend from High School who is Autistic was protective of me. It did not work out between us, but it had NOTHING to do with him being Autistic. However, my Ex-Boyfriend from High School is now a Psychologist with a PHD. I hope you do not mind me sharing this, but Heartbreak High reminded me of High School. Chloe, I also LOVE your Squishmallow Collection😃💖💖💖💖💖 ( I have 4 Squishamallows) since I LOVE to collect all kinds of Toys and🧸🧸 Stuffed Animals🧸🧸😃😃!!! Hi Chloe, thank you for your portrayal of Quinni! It's the best, most accurate autism representation I've ever seen and really never hoped for. I still can't believe it. Like the fact that Quinni's story line doesn't revolve around her being autistic. So many tiny little details, so relatable. I loved the scene where Quinni tells her gf that NO ONE would enjoy being stood up, pls don't make everything about autism. This was just beautiful. And how amazing is that we see Quinni in different states of "functioning". I think it's one of the biggest things that people don't understand - that "high functioning" and "low functioning" labels don't make any sense because it can be the same person. This is SO important! I can't believe the character was so well written, and you performance is just so spot on. I had to listen to "ok Sia" line 3 times, because I couldn't wrap my head around it actually being on a show, like how would the writers even know??? It's all beautiful. Your portrayal is beautiful. 💖

You look like this girl from that netflix teen show Jokes aside, I wanted to tell you that in my opinion you have one of the best acting of the series, that I loved the character of Quinni (I mean she made me watch the show till the end though teen dramas are usually not my cup of tea). Some scenes with Quinni were hard to watch bc awkwardly personally relatable (in the sense that the scenes themselves were awkward, but these scenes in particular reminded me of things I do that I'm still not confident with) So thanks ^^ I hated Sarah
