How it feels to play medic is currently in the works but Lazys not doing too hot when I last checked, saying he had to rewrite the script and the animations are taking a HUGE toll on his mental psyche. He’s seeing therapy for it and I respect the man!

Fun fact: Did you know that, according to the comics, that because the Demoman has been drinking scrumpy for so long, that it's essentially the only thing keeping him alive at this point? Even tap water is poisonous to him!

You haven’t seen Lazy’s video, “Why TF2 is a Masterpiece,” yet. I think it’s more important than some of the extras clips. TF2 has some God tier players, but it’s welcoming community invites all sorts of newer players. Anything can happen in a casual match. The entire enemy team could just say, “Fuck it, we are all spies now.”

How to counter demo as engineer: Shotgun. They focus the gun, you kill him while he’s distracted. If they destroy it, so be it. You can rebuild it.

As someone who started playing for the first time in like a decade you should know that you only get default equipment at the start. You can buy weapon packs but there's another way to unlock gear. Many pieces can be unlocked by completing a set number of achievements for a given class. If you go to the "Start Server" option among the game modes, select "itemtest" from the map, and press F7 once you've loaded in, you can spawn bots that you can kill to get achievements that would otherwise take a ton of time. I found out about this after watching a video about getting all the achievements in 50 days and went from less than 50 achievements after playing for around 2 to 3 weeks, to 150+ in one day. However, don't let the name of the map fool you; some items behave differently, some can't be tested at all, and a few achievements don't work even if you fulfill the criteria. (The "Force-a-nature" Scout weapon has 6 rounds instead of 2 and only reloads 1 shot at a time for some reason in itemtest, the Spy's "Cloak and Dagger" item doesn't exist at all, achievements for getting kills from behind with Scout weapons don't work at all, and cosmetics never appeared whenever I tried to spawn them so I couldn't even *TRY* to test one of the achievements.) It should also be noted that unless you buy something for at least $5, you'll have a pretty small amount of inventory slots (each new item for a class takes up a slot). This means that if you don't intend to discard several items, you'll need to drop a dash of cash to get the most out of it. Lastly, Mann vs. Machine is one of the best ways to get acquainted with the game without jumping straight into multiplayer. It's a horde mode-esque wave-defense game mode where you fight robotic bot-controlled versions of existing classes with other teammates. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the strengths and weaknesses of classes without being thrown into the deep end.

You guys should watch the extras videos. They cover a lot of stuff and are very high quality and have their own SFM bits.

You guys should set up a TF2 server and invite the community to play instead of joining random servers, they're pretty cheap to buy and even easier to just run from your personal PC. If you play TF2's casual mode you'll experience the hacker surplus, and it's hit or miss with the public servers run by groups like Skial. I used to run a server from my home pc, they're not really resource intensive.

8:45 That really was a no-win situation for him, because LP talked about the mechanics of Demo’s sticky bombs in a behind the scenes video. TLDR: In order to prevent demo’s from suicide bombing enemies, the sticky bombs detect whether the demoman is close enough to be damaged by them along with the enemy. And if the demo man has less HP than his enemy, the number of sticky bombs that will detonate will only be JUST enough to kill HIM, and (possibly) not whoever he was killing. So it Demo shoots all 8 stickies into one spot, and an enemy Heavy rounds the corner, and Demo detonates the stickies when his HP is low enough that 2 stickies would be enough to kill him and not the Heavy, only 2 stickies WILL detonate, and the others will disintegrate, leaving the Heavy alive. (with a chunk of health missing)
