Reacting to *Insidious: The Red Door*

Some recent and not-so-recent horror that would be awesome to see on the channel: Talk To Me, Glorious, Barbarian (actually think you two may have watched this one already), Nope, Coherence, Lisa Frankenstein, Midsommar, Carrie, Possessor, The Gift, The Invitaton (2015), Suspira (remake), Creep, and maybe the IT series (remakes)?

Agree with Stella, if this leaned into the generational trauma a bit more it could've been great. The need to stay horror-centric actually diluted it. That tension of knowing what the younger generation doesn't but their reactions still being valid is so powerful. It's the seat of compassion as it demands you appreciate the nuance of both tragedy and empathy. Speaking of films by fathers, A Quiet Place by John Krasinski & Emily Blunt was described by them as "a love letter to our children." It has a horror/thriller focus, but it revolves around a parents' love for their children.

34:36 I actually wanna answer your question here about the demons in the real world, so pretty much the whole reasoning for the haunting in the first movie is mainly because of dalton being in his “coma” ,Elise explained his astral body was in the further and that the entities in the further knew that, so the demons and goblins showing themselves in the first was them trying to posses daltons body, that’s pretty much what happened here, all the those demons from under the bed smelt daltons open body and were trying to get to it. And she’s able to see them cause they came into the real world

Yay! The final Insidious movie. Makes me feel old that little Dalton is college aged 😂 So cool Patrick sang the song at the end as an awesome bonus. I love horror comedies so I'd recommend Freaky, Shaun of the Dead, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Jennifer's Body, Zombieland 1&2, Happy Death Day 1&2, etc. The Cell is creepy and The Faculty and Boy Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse are really fun and World War Z and Pandorum are cool. Psychological horror 🤔 Copycat, Murder by Numbers, Apocalypto, and Silence of the Lambs. I'd also recommend Underwater, Chronicle, and Cloverfield. 😉 Action/Disaster movies: Daylight, Vertical Limit, Volcano, Twister, San Andreas, Day After Tomorrow, etc. Dark Comedy: War of the Roses, Very Bad Things, Cocaine Bear, The Menu, Grosse Point Blank ...

There’s a spinoff coming this year probably, and then there’s gonna be a 6th movie that comes out next August and it’d be super cool if you guys could react to them both 😊

i know hayley has already seen it, but if Stella did not see "the haunting of hill house" i would LOVE to see a reaction of her. I'm pretty sure she would have a lot of....... emotions with this masterpiece

I really liked this final chapter of their story. But it does have certain issues. The first half is rather slow and boring. Not enough scares personally. But other than that I was very invested in the conclusion of the lambert family's story and I enjoyed how it came full circle in the end.

Also, did you say Horror Musical? Lisa Frankenstein 2024!
