REACTING TO (KPOP) BTS CYPHERS 1-4 FOR THE FIRST TIME 

In cypher pt. 2 where they said "go back to hawaii" they were referring to a rapper named Bfree who was born in hawaii. That rapper criticized RM and Suga for being idols and not being real "rappers". Thats why Jhope also pretty much let them take over the verses and he stuck with introducing the two because it was basically a clapback against bfree.

Hobi has flow and style, namjoons has language and wordplay, and yoongi has raw emotions 💜

BTS has the BEST rap line In KPOP.

Am not Joking when I say Suga's verse in many BTS songs are freakin' fast. Lol

Rm's verse in part 2 makes me feel some kind of way every single time

imagine cypher 4 in concert. the place turns to a pit but everyone's bouncing and screaming "i love myself" and honestly that's the best part of it all

The beginning of Cypher Pt. 4 is RM mocking the haters. Its the criticisms he received as an idol for not being a good looking enough, or not being good with his diction etc.

Cypher 2 will always be the one that steals the show, because of the real genuine anger that Suga and RM put into it. It was a CLAPBACK against Bfree who basically tried to come after both Suga and RM for leaving underground rap to be idols. Jhope took a step back on that track because it was really for RM and Suga. I don’t know if you really caught the lyrics, but Suga went INN on them. Grown men would cry if he said some of that shit to them. RM brought it with the flow and insane switch ups, and combining that with Suga’s pure savageness in his lyrics it’s safe to say we can all see why Bfree never came at them again. Especially Suga’s “go to Hawaii” which was him telling Bfree to just go back to where he came from because he’ll never be at their level anyway. It’s also a very clear display of what each of them brings to the rapline. RM brings his insane lyricism and GENIUS wordplay, Hobi excels with the flows and the general vibe/style, including his incredible use of the uniqueness of his voice, and Suga brings the speed and the raw, broken down emotion. Each of them is necessary to create the insanity that is the BTS rap line, and they mesh their styles so well together to create masterpieces.

RM in Cypher 2 is fire!! When he says "are you ready for the show??" Ya'll we are never ready!! the heat, the bars!! RM's bars and flow switches throughout cypher 1-4 is just wheeww.

I'm sorry... but may I also point out that RM worked the word Hegemony into his verse. That's freaking impressive! Where my nerds at?? As a bibliophile I got way too excited.

Supreme Boi was in the original line up for hip-hop group BTS, but decided to drop out when the CEO changed to debut BTS as an idol group. However, he stayed to become one of Bighit's producers.

Regarding J Hopes line of all the girls call him PIPI .. 삐삐 (romanization is pipi or bbibbi) is what Koreans use as like “beep beep” as in a beeper so he’s just saying girls call him a lot.

In cypher pt. 3, The one you thought that it was about American rappers, it wasn't... It was about korean rappers that try to rap in English just to look cool!! Also, I think they came in strong in pt. 2 because it was about this one rapper that insulted RM and Suga and that's why j-hope doesn't have much lines in that one.... The other cyphers were just generally about haters, media and all!! In my opinion it's a story - in the first one, they defend themselves as rappers, in second and third, they attack the lousy rappers that insult them, and in the fourth one, they don't care about haters because they know who they are and confident about themselves and love themselves!!! So, they ask the haters to love themselves (you hate on others coz you are insecure and don't love yourself) If you see this progression, the beat the rap style everything just fits! Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!! Great reaction though, guys!

the "bae" in cypher 4. SUNBAE (선배) rom: 'seonbae' a "senior" - someone who has worked/been in the industry or institution longer. a group would call another group that debuted earlier "sunbae" (sunbaenim to be polite)

The cyphers are all on the albums, they are official songs. The first Cypher was released when the group debuted back in 2013. 💜 I love how much you guys were vibing with Jhope in the first cypher, he often gets overlooked cuz back then he was just starting out as a rapper (he only became a rapper once he joined BTS, while Suga and RM were both already rappers a part of the underground hiphop scene), now he's found his niche/style and has the coolest flows. RM is very heavy on worldplay, his lyrics are often entendres and carry more than one meaning. Suga is more straightforward, he's raw and relies a lot on his cadence because of it.

Rm is so so mature and talented.

Yes, supreme boi was one of their producers. But back then, bts was supposed to be a hiphop group and supreme boi was suppose to be a bts member but after the ceo decided that bts will debut as a kpop group, supreme boi alongside with 5 other underground rappers left the group because they think being a kpop idol wasnt for them. So supreme boi chose to be their producer instead.

You guys also need to take into account that most of these very loosley "translated" lyrics DO NOT do the artists' lyrical genius justice. Suga is known for his flow/swag/cadence and he is considered a lyrical genius for his wordplay... makes more sense if you understand Korean. He is the one that's frequently compared with Eminem. The way Suga/Agust D. manipulates the beat is insane. You can get a taste of this on his D-2 mixtape... ALL of the tracks were written/composed/produced SOLEY by Suga. RM has an IQ of 148, taught himself English (which is perfect) and his lyrics are insanely complex. He is literally a genius. He went on this Korean TV show called "Problematic Men", which is a show that only invites those that are considered to have genius-level IQ's and RM (being the youngest of the cast) blew the rest out of the water. There was no competition. What would take the few that could even fathom the questions...RM was able to answer even before some the the questions were done being asked. Same as Suga (& j-hope), RM is one of the members that has had a hand in producing all of their albums. Compared to Suga and RM, both of which were already deep into the underground hip-hop scene before their debut, J-Hope had zero experience as a rapper. That fact makes his talents even more impressive....bc he is now considered one of the industry's top hip-hop artists AND he has an impressive number of self produced tracks under his belt. His flow is incredibly unique (due to his Korean accent/different dialect from the rest of the boys) and his delivery is unparalleled. There's a reason why these guys are GLOBALLY ackowledged as the best... not just in "Kpop". Let's also not forget... these guys can also dance.
