During their predebut project, they cultivated a MASS international following. It was one of the only times a group from an unknown company had so much attention on their first music video. Thankfully, after they got their first ever music show win for So What on one of the biggest broadcasting music shows, they should gain more popularity in South Korea.

'WE ARE LOONA' is actually have a deeper meaning since LOONA was the one who stated this. They have two dedicated videos which talks about their message they want to give in their music.

The thing about the Loonaverse story is that while it spans over all 32 (now 33) MVs (+various teasers and videos from Cinema Theory), it's often less present in some (especially early) videos on the surface. But once you really get into it there's a lot of connections between the videos. If you do reactions in order then around the first subunit's song Sonatine the MVs have English descriptions included which are the basis for all the lore ^^

The crunchy voice of go won is like a inside joke of loona. It was once in the description of a MV. I thinks it’s in the love4eva description. BBC themselves described her voice as Crunchy

If I must describe what I'm feeling when I first watch them together its like a gigantic sigh of relief and excitement. I was crying throughout the music video. Hi High was a cute music video that has a happy and cutesy vibe to it, but I was crying so hard. Not just me, but thousands of fans also felt the same way. We have been waiting for so long, following them through their long hardships. They were unknown, unheard of, underrated, flops through and through, but they kept going. They only have 50k followers on Twitter, 100k subs on RU-vid, and 100k followers on Instagram when the project was still on predebut as I recall, but now they have over 445k followers on Twitter, 950k subs on RU-vid, and 950k followers on Instagram as of today. They are an amazing group that shown growth since the beginning. There were no advertisements of them internationally and only miniscule advert domestically, yet they are now known as one of the group that have an established fandom internationally thanks to the works of the fandom who promote the group by themselves without anyone's help. I really wish one day LOONA can become one of the top groups that I can proudly brag about. LOONA is the greatest group of all time and they are here to stay.

Fun fact: The girl at 14:29 (Haseul, the leader) can sing opera! she studied opera music in college! There's some clips of her singing opera on yt, she's really talented :)

There were doubts and uncertainties when this project was first started. We were not feeling that this going to work but they really kept it going through months and months of projects that finally led to their debut on August 2018. LOONA is the girlgroup that is making history in the music industry.

I was literally shaking watching favorite let alone Hi High, the whole project was so amazing to be a part of. I watched Heejin's solo in 2016 not knowing what I was getting into and now here we are, I love them so much and they've climbed up my bias list past every group to be my favourite girl group. I've been a fan of Loona since the first solo, Heejin's Vivid, came out back in 2016 but I only became an Orbit with Kim Lip's solo, Eclipse, in 2017, and surprisingly it was because I didn't like Eclipse at all and wanted to know what happened to the other girls and their previous concept Today I adore all solos and I'm very happy I decided to look more into them, since becoming an Orbit was one of the best decisions I made while stanning kpop. i’ve been with loona since heejin (first girl) so when hi high happened i cried a lot even tho it’s such a happy song 😭 one thing i wished for a lot back then was for them to finally be together! the waiting was really painful at times but when they finally debuted i was so happy and so heavily invested. i envy new fans being able to marathon everything tho tbh

Chuu is an amazing singer indeed. Her mom is a classical singer, so she learns from the best. ;) She is the one singing the very high-pitched 'fly like a butterfly' (the highest one) on 'Butterfly' but it was revealed that it was altered in the studio by the producers to be an octave even higher than she was sung in the studio. Jinsoul is also another talented singer. She and Chuu are the ones doing the crazy 'ad-libs' on 'So What'. ;)

I stumbled across LOONA right at the beginning with Heejin. I had NO IDEA what I was getting into. The reveals were always vague, the story details were just enough. They had fan events with secret movies moving the story along, the MV descriptions would point toward the story more. I've never experienced something like that. When they released their first MV together (favOriTe), it was surreal. They've also been through immense adversity with coming from a company of less than 20 employees, tons of legal things, the main producer/mastermind behind the project ditching them because he's an asshole and wanted to keep them super indie/unknown... Seeing them now, I'm so proud of them.

I’m sure you’re deep into it now, but if you run out of content to watch and still don’t know the story. There are hidden videos too. That were only shown in theaters in Korea. But some fans secretly recorded and they’re on RU-vid. If you search “Loona cinema theory” you’ll probably find a playlist of the hidden videos. Some are just choreography videos but a lot are a part of the storyline.

the loonaverse and MVs are so full of content, but the best stuff to watch after you're acquainted with LOONA are the meme/crack videos. There are also ships in the group that orbits love, especially chuuves (chuu + yves) and hyewon (olivia hye + go won). There is just SOOOOO much to watch

*long post incoming, I have so much to say about loona...* Thanks for watching LOONA! And yes, this video is the best introduction you could get about them and what the group is all about. As you now know, they're an amazing a super unique group! Each of the 12 members has a solo song, since they were debuted one by one before the full group debut. It was a 2 year project (with 3 subunits during that time as well!) and each of the songs is different in genre and sound, so there's something for everybody to like! I feel like most western kpop fans, especially people who usually enjoy boygroups or more bad-ass concepts instead of cute ones, like the songs from the odd-eye-circle members the most (eclipse, singing in the rain, love cherry motion, girl front and my personal favorite sweet crazy love). The girls from the first subunit loona 1/3 have a cuter, slightly retro concept. And the girls from yyxy are harder to pin down.. Apart from the amazing songs, the videography is really integral to loona as well. All the MV's are made by the same company (digipedi) and all the videos and other content that they put out are part of the loonaverse lore. It's similar to the BTS universe where the members represent characters in a larger than life story and there are crazy theories and analyses for all the videos. (please know though, that this part of loona is really hard to get into because all the references are super subtle, not obvious at all and require lots of knowledge about symbolism. At least in my experience most people who try to just watch the videos and figure things out themselves are just confused and I'm not smart enough either so ^-^'..) If you want to get into it though, definitely watch the MV's in order. I saw someone already linked the playlist from loona's official youtube, which has all their videos in order of release. This is important because they gradually reveal more and more of the story. And after doing that you should check out theory videos. Twinfish has the most elaborate ones I believe. She has a (very long) introduction video and then a video for each MV explaining all the details and possible meanings and connections. As you watch, you'll find a lot of recurring visual cues (e.g. apples, cassette tapes, moons waning and waxing, eyes opening, running, the fruits..) but deciphering the story from that is quite the challange. Know that starting from the sonatine MV, the video descriptions contain official lore. And the teaser videos are usually heeavy in lore as well, and they also held "cinema theory" and "study group" events in Korea where unreleased footage was shown that connected some parts of the story (you can find some illegal fancams of these on youtube but unfortunately it wasn't officially released outside these events). Well I'm rambling now, but you seem interested in the lore so I just wanted to make clear it's pretty complex. I didn't dive into it myself untill I was preparing for the So What comeback. I used the twinfish videos (there's a playlist with reuploads because twinfish herself is sadly gone from social media now) and they're mindboggling. I recommend watching them on your own because especially the first ones are hard to understand. She uses a robot voice and has no subs. I had to pause and rewind it many times to grasp what she was saying. Later on she narrates it herself though. Even though there are parts that I didn't understand or thought contradicted itself, these theories still brought the story to life and it's definitely cool to discover. But as you said, you can perfectly watch the MV's without any knowledge of the lore and enjoy them just as well. Loona also is one of the best dancing girl groups out there. They got some fame for their covers of boygroup dances, which they're super good at (bts fire, nct 127 cherry bomb, got7 eclipse and part of seventeen thanks for instance) and a few of the members did an awesome cover of sunmi full moon. Not every orbit likes when loona is compared to BTS but I do want to say that loona also puts out a lot of content and their loonatv episodes on their official youtube, remind me of bangtan bombs, as they are short behind the scenes clips that showcase the members' personalities. And they're all huge dorks so the memes are great. Please do the loona series! They're so amazing and it's a really rewarding experience and fun journey to get into them. And orbits love to watch it because it's like reliving that predebut time all over again! ^^ I listened to their songs from the beginning because I was checking out all new release is kpop at the time. But I didn't know about the loona project at first. I remember being so confused when I realised that hyunjin and heejin were not the same person XD. I realised this when I saw "I'll be there". At the time I though that was it, loona was a duo of hyunjin and heejin. But then more girls kept appearing and I liked all the songs! I got followed it casually and when Kim Lip's solo came out, I really committed and became super invested. So yes it was very emotional to see them all together for the first time. Actually they dropped favOriTe before hi high. It's from the same album and it was the lead single, where hi high was the title track. So favOriTe will always be special to me and many orbits I think because it was the first time we had an OT12 song. I cannot tell you how many times I watched the favOriTe teaser TT. And yes the predebut project was the perfect way to create really passionate fans. PS: Another unique thing about LOONA is that they don't have official positions like leader, main vocal, etc. because they can all sing, rap and dance. Haseul is kind of the unofficial leader though, and Kim Lip takes that role as well, especially now that Haseul is on hiatus for mental health issues.
