Lovebites (stylized as LOVEBITES) is a Japanese all-female heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna. Its lineup currently consists of Haruna on drums, Midori and Miyako on guitar, and Asami on vocals. After signing to Victor Entertainment, the group released both their debut EP and their first album in 2017, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, before performing their first overseas concerts at the end of the year. With another EP and album released in 2018, Battle Against Damnation and Clockwork Immortality, Lovebites quickly garnered international attention and won that year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band. They released their third album, Electric Pentagram, in 2020, and it reached number 9 on the Oricon chart, becoming their highest-charting to date. After releasing the EP Glory, Glory, to the World in March 2021, bassist Miho left the band in August and Lovebites began a temporary hiatus.

Haruna reminds me when I was a kid we used to hear a freight train coming about 90 miles an hour and we would run out and hang on to the flashing lights by the track you had to hang on to something so you wouldn't get weirded out and jump on the train or something that was always so fantastic all the sound in the ground shaking and the lights flashing that's what I feel like when I'm listening to her music wild, love you HARUNA

I'm a huge metal fan, grew up listening to all the greats in the 80s. The big 4, Maiden, Helloween, Manowar, Priest, Motorhead, Testament, Ozzy, WASP, you name it. These ladies are definitely in that category from a metal perspective, but then to pull this off, c'mon man! They are in a category of their own. This is like Ozzy, Metallica, and Maiden playing a song together - unheard of! That is just how GREAT lovebites is...they are the BEST. 🐺

In 1831, the "November Revolution," an anti-government movement initiated by soldiers and the people against the Polish parliament under the control of the Russian Empire, was unsuccessful due to the direct intervention of the Russian army. Chopin learned of this news on his travel destination. He lost his hometown. Around the time the Russian army invaded Warsaw, his agent in Paris announced "Etude OP10, No12". His agents over-promoted it and eventually became known as the "revolutionary etude." Miyako composed "Swan Song" with reference to this practice song and Dvorak's "New World". Asami, who has been studying classical ballet since the age of two, wrote the lyrics by superimposing the image of Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". This song is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to regain freedom with the country, and is a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can produce.

PS- if you like Seghei Rachmaninoff, check for Ciprian Porumbescu - Ballad for Violin and Orchestra ...you're going to be surprised how much similar these two composers were.

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now one of the best metal guitarists in the world. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor).
