This song feature's the newest member also bassist Fami took over in 2022 after founder/Bassist Miho left for personal reasons in 2021. There's another version of this song that has a musical intro and Miho on bass called The awakening/Hammer of Wrath.

They are immensly talented musicians. The 2 guitarists are among the best duos I've heard in 5 decades of listening to metal.

Thanks for taking another listen to LOVEBITES. Glad you liked this one. I can understand being a bit put off by the vocals. It took me a while to get used to Asami, but now I can't imagine the band without her.

So, I made the mistake to read the comments below and was expecting you to dislike and even be dismissive of the song and/or band. But, to my surprise, you liked it. You should even put the song on your playlist. Confessing that this isn't your favorite music style or favorite singer style is not uncommon among reactors, it happens now and then. Most of those reactors like them though, in spite of it being an odd genre for them. Nothing unusual. Lovebites is that good. Its hard to resist. Thanks for your reaction.

No matter what they look like, Lovebites make really hard and aggressive metal music. Hard rock fans often like this too, but cuddly rock fans and snuggle bears won't be happy with this music.🤘😅🤘

Vocals ALWAYS come down to personal taste. One of the reasons why I don't listen to Slayer (even though I love thrash) is because I don't like Tom Araya's vocals. Similarly, I don't listen to Death Metal because Cookie Monster vocals annoy me. I didn't warm to Asami's vocals initially, but now I can't even imagine LOVEBITES with a different singer.

What you are hearing there is the actual bass. See, this is Fami's (the bass player) first show with the band, and her first show in front of a big crowd. But it isn't because of that that her tone is big and beefy here. See, this song was written before she joined the band; in fact, there is a previous performance of this song with their original bassist, Miho. Her tone is more akin to a true 80s power metal band, like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. In fact, it is nearly identical in tone to Steve Harris (bassist for Iron Maiden) and Frank Bello (bassist for Anthrax). Fami's tone is BIG and BEEFY, which goes along with her natural playing, so that is what you are hearing here; this is just her natural tone and how beefy it is.

I used to dislike two things you mentioned in the past, Asamis voice (4 years ago) and excessive use of the double kicks (30 years ago). But both of them grew extremely fast and nowadays i don't understand how the earth could spin so long without that!! 😂

Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out, if you haven’t already, is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They love to go hard and heavy. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Their tiny bassist even throws in some growls at key moments. They’re scheduled to release their new album on June 28, and it’s a banger.
