I can top that, 2019 is the only year NEITHER Mr. MITB or Ms. MITB held the briefcase going into SummerSlam. Bayley cashed in the same night she won it and Brock Lesnar cashed in a month before.
@@hutrod7721 I mean if we're assuming Gunther is beating him clean at SummerSlam. If Priest loses the first time without interference, he can go off and do his feud with Finn, but then if Triple H does want him to be a main event, after that he has to win the title back clean from Gunther.
To add to the point on HHHs long term booking philosophy - not all feuds need to be booked with a view to them being long term - sometimes its best to strike when the iron is hot rather than thinking "well this guy is over now, but we can make him lose, do the story for another 6 months/year and then put them over" - i dont think its happened yet but eventually we will hit a point where a wrestlers popularity cooling or a long term injury will completely derail a storyline that they were taking a long time to slowly tell. Quite frankly its been amazing that theyve managed to keep the Punk v Drew feud alive for 6 months now without a single match happening between the two with Punk rarely being on TV due to his injury. WWE wont be able to cover every feud the same way that hits a roadblack like this. There should be a mix of long term and short term bookings in wrestling at all times.
Exactly if you don’t strike while the iron is hot then what’s even the point. They did it for Tiffany Stratton they should’ve did it to Jey uso just like La knight should’ve gotten it last years money in the bank.
@@MDestron2282 I mean La knight is still massively over along side Jey uso so if either of them had won I’ll have no problem with it. But sucks that wwe doesn’t capitalize from it
"Long-term booking" is as equally motivated by profit making as it is by grand payoffs. It's better to stretch these stories across 100 two day PLEs for record profits than to think of new stories.
La knight is going to have his moment at summerslam against Logan I feel I don’t really like mitb been done to death they should make it every other year mens one year womens another if anything
To add on to how bad the Austin Theory cash in was: Seth Rollins was doing open challenges... Theory could have hung on to his briefcase by just waiting and answering Seth's challenges.
Drew having the worst cash in? Theory exists also Corbin and Sandow both had rotten cash ins too at least this sets up a story beat the other failed cash ins didn't.
that was bad, the Otis to Miz change and his loss. Damien Sandow I know a lot of people were mad about that one. This one at least did have some real storyline behind it. Drew keeps getting screwed. And it builds the feud for him and Punk. Now they should be facing off at Summer Slam
People are so reactionary I swear. Do you really think any of those guys are gonna dethrone either Cody or Gunther when he wins the title. This served a story purpose and got rid of future booking roadblocks that the Mitb briefcase always seems to present.
Exactly. MITB always poses booking problems somewhere down the line. I think it was smart to squash it immediately bc it not only enhances the feud between Drew and Punk, but it removes the briefcase from being a problem for future booking.
Like some win, with no plans to ever make them a star. People forget that, or forget many times the holder looks dumb for not using it every week, or ever PPV. People nonstop meme and shit on Priest for not using it, so now people angry he did use it. Plus I understand the anger if it was LA or Jey, but Drew it made sense he be impatient and rush to use it, even before the match finish. It fits his character
I feel like people are reactionary to protecting HHH. Let me explain why Drew winning the title would've been a better choice. 1. Takes the belt off Damien. He's not good enough to be champ. He botches a lot, can't talk on the mic, has a weird moveset for his identity/size, ring attire isn't great, and he doesn't have a character.... He's not over. 2. The overwhelming majority of people would prefer Drew as champ. He deserves it more in every single way. 3. Punk coming out interfering was obvious. If he would've came out but failed to cost Drew ..... That would've been cool and unpredictable. 4. It makes Drew vs Punk that much more interesting. 5. It's so predictable having all your champs have long reigns. So it would've been great to shorten his reign. Even though most of us think he should've lost it long ago. Priest is not championship material. 6. Drew vs Gunther is a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better match. With Punk in the middle meddling around... even better. That'll actually increase ratings.
I totally agree with you by the way. It's also the first time there's a decent story behind a loss. Austin Theory comes to mind with them not having a story behind it.
It's what was best for business imo. It will develop those big feuds, and honestly I wish this was the last MITB for a long while. I wish they'd replace it with one of the old school PPVs like Judgement Day, Bad Blood, or In Your House like NXT has done.
I still think Baron failing his cash in was punishment for him getting into an argument with that doctor who tried to down play concussions while Baron having a background in football that it's a serious thing, cuz even Cena was out there distracting him
Do we really wanna see another year long angle of someone trying to cash in but unsuccessfully doing so? We just had that story with Priest. I'm glad they did it this way. We can focus that story on Tiffany.
THe writing with Drew made sense. 1) It removes the MITB Briefcase from the equation for hte coming year. WHen Damien Priest had his long run with the case, or basically every time that happens, people complained about how he wasn't cashing in on a good situation, even pointing out that the WM Cash in wasn't really "the best moment" because there had been better ones beforehand Now imagine, purely as an example, Priest and RHodes have a HiaC match that leaves both of htem completely drained and unable to do anything when the cage gets lifted. But nobody cashes in. "Why didn't *insert name here* cashing in?!" (Because, of course, the plans say so). Then he cashes in 2 months later in a less advantageous situation. "Idiot!" blabla I've now seen people go "Chad/Knight/whoever shoulda cashed the briefcase in on their midcard title!!!" Ya know, the same thing people called a stupid decision, and how stupid it made him look, when Austin Theory cashed in on the US belt... 2) "Why didn't Punk let Drew win the belt! THen he'd face him for it at SS!!!" For one, Punk wouldn't. Gunther has his KotR win shot at Summerslam. So either GUnther would get screwed by making it a Triple Threat (with him as the THird Wheel), or Drew retaining would be set. In any case, Gunther should be the next WHC champ. And if Gunther takes the belt, people would ask: "Why even have Drew take it at KotR!" And: Punk, for now, doesn't really care about the belt! He wants to make Drew suffer for injuring him, for running the pleasure he took in that and hten the SD attack. It's not about the belt. I mean, for other feuds, we love to criticise WWE just putting a title on one of them to make it seem "bigger" just for fans to go "Eh, the feud didn't need the title. Felt kinda tacked on and that guy deserved a better run..." 3) This neatly sets up Punk VS Rollins for later, since he screwed ROllins as well. While I agree that Punk or AJ screwing Drew in the MitB match could'Ve been the better call, it also could've led to other old complaints coming back. I think a major reason for the cash in complaints are a combination of "It wasn't the guy I wanted to win!" + "And they waste that immediately!!!" Making it seem, for them, far worse.
Thank you. I shouldn't be surprised that people aren't connecting what happened with the MITB and Drew. Like the story development for Drew vs Punk and Seth vs Punk are pretty clear.
Drew winning MITB felt so unnecessary. They could’ve announced a triple threat between Drew, Damian, and Seth and we could’ve gotten to the same outcome.
But Drew losing to a cash in at Mania only makes it a deeper story. Heck, Punk himself is a MITB all-timer. The only thing that would have been better would have been for Drew to 'leave the company' with the belt after cashing in.
Chelsea Green winning the briefcase and cashing it in to win the title and then bringing back the Divas Title like she said would give her nuclear heat !
Fun Fact: 2019 is the only year both Mr. & Ms. MITB has cashed in BEFORE SummerSlam. Every other year apart from 2017 and 2024 Mr. MITB has held onto that briefcase past the biggest party of the Summer.
i didnt think it was a bad show at all, maybe one of triple hs peakest shows under his main run becaue usually his ppvs are pretty good but i dont think the show was ass like everyone else is saying
I’m thinking Priest was pissed at the end of the match because he has no clean victories defending his championship. It’s either his own crew or Punk shenanigans (Or maybe I’m just covering the botched kick out the poor bastard)
I don't think he was supposed to kick out. I think the pin was supposed to be interrupted by Drew's cash in, but backstage botched the timing of his entrance.
@@kidneystonermusic ....he wasn't supposed to kick out. The story is that Damien keeps getting wins by unwanted assistance. Its supposed to look like he would have lost if not for the cash in. In that situation by the time he would have realized that the cue had been missed it would already have been too late to kick out.
@@VBane then you do the professional thing and not lay there like a fool. People complain that wins and losses don't mean much anymore, but now even kickouts don't matter.
When I said Drew had the worst MITB cash-in of all time I was still acting emotionally because the PPV had just happened but now that I’ve had some time to process it and think some more… I still 100% think his is the worst. Austin Theory’s cash-in was stupid but it clearly came from Theory getting the briefcase while McMahon was in charge and Triple H not liking the direction his character was going so he tried using a failed cash-in as a character growth moment. Braun Strowman announcing his cash-in ahead of time made sense for his character and although I’ll never defend the choice to end a Hell in a Cell match by no contest, the angle of Brock Lesnar coming out and laying out Reigns and Strowman was at least something new. Drew McIntyre literally said before the match what he was going to do with the briefcase if he won, eliminating the suspense of when someone will choose to cash-in. And anybody who’s been paying attention to WWE at all knew exactly what was going to happen the moment he unhooked that briefcase, that CM Punk was going to cost him his cash-in later that night. The main argument I’ve seen in support of this is that it furthered the feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk, which it did not. Instead of using the uniqueness of the briefcase to do tell a new story beat, they instead chose to just retell the same story beat from Clash at the Castle. You could say it further the feud between CM Punk and Seth Rollins, since Punk screwed him out of a title shot too, but then what does that have to do with Drew McIntyre, the man who is actually cashing in? Ultimately this just felt like Triple H didn’t want a briefcase floating around to mess up his longer term plans, so he just used it in the least creative way possible to get it out of the way, all while reaffirming that the stipulation match that the PPV is named after does not matter
I like that Drew failed his cash-in, not only because it works super well for his story with Punk and it re-ignited his issues with Seth, but because Priest had that fkin thing for 9? months and now next year when Money in the Bank rolls around again it's gonna feel exciting to see a Mr. Money in the Bank again.
I disagree with the briefcase not having a place in the Bloodline drama. Imagine Roman comes back, feuds with Solo's group with Solo having won the the WWE title and he and Roman wrestle for the title and position at head of the table, but they have the stipulation that whoever loses can't compete for the title again and is ex-communicated from the Bloodline. Roman gets screwed, so now he has to figure out a way to get the Bloodline back. This lead him to back to Jey, Mr. Money in the Bank and Roman has to finally resolve his issues with Jey to get another shot and taking down Solo. Roman has to actually back up his gaslighting from before and Prove he actually does want to do what's best or his family. So eventually Jey calls his shot on Solo and Roman ensures that Jey wins, gets his first title, and turns the whole original bloodline face. I'm just saying there are story options with Jey having the case,
I get people not liking the McIntyre cash in. It wasn't a good cash in. However if people say that this is the WORST cash in of all time, I would like to remind you of the Austin Theory MiTB run.
The mens MITB ladder match a sponsored match, because it had the Vought logo on it from The Boys. Maybe it had to be used the night of cause you wouldn’t want the show that is on Prime being advertised via MITB briefcase on the USA network.
To me, a good title reign is one that lasts for at least 3-4 months, with a majority of solid title defenses, and the champion actually making it seem like the belt they hold is really important to them, not some afterthought.
A cash in, success or failure, should always serve a story, don’t give a case to someone just cause you feel you HAVE to have some shock moment the next year, it served the story of Drew being his own worst enemy, he ALWAYS thinks he has the work done before he actually does, gets cocky and then loses. Just like him announcing all along he’d cash in the same night, congrats, you gave Punk his shot well in advance to screw you.
Honestly though if you have someone else win the briefcase they’d just end up cashing in and losing because the 2 world champions are practically set for the rest of the year at least with Gunther and Cody or they’d hold it for 10 months and people would complain about that like they did with priest. I honestly can’t see how this was a bad cash in when it keeps pushing the Punk v Drew story and reheats the Punk v Seth story
I don't think it was bad, it served an obvious and worthwhile purpose, I just personally think there were other possible ways to have Punk cost Drew without Drew winning the briefcase. We've also seen on numerous occasions that HHH has no problem with slow burn storytelling, so I don't think he'd be worried about holding off on another cash-in. I don't have a problem with the finish, it just wouldn't have been my first choice. I do appreciate the element of Punk pissing off 3 different people (Drew obviously, Seth can't challenge again, and Priest still hasn't proven he can win by himself, which was his goal) all at once. This is gonna be a very, very interesting SummerSlam. These layered levels of storytelling could payoff big time or it could blow up in HHH's face.
I liked the faiked cash in, I liked that Tiffany won, I think Priest and Rollins had a pretty good match and I love that Sami finished with just one Helluva Kick, just like I loved when Cody finished AJ Styles at Backlash with only one Cross Rhodes. I hope this becomes more and more common and finishers are really finishers that actually finish the match. That'll be beneficial for WWE because it'll make it more different from the competition.
Things I want to see in the John Cena Retirement Tour: - Cena winning the 17th world title. - Cena having a tag team title reign with Austin Theory. - WarGames Match with Orton and Punk on his team. - 7 match ups I want to see... Cena vs Dirty Dom, Cena vs McIntyre, Cena vs Gunther, Cena vs Kross, Cena v Pete Dunne, Cena vs Breakker, and Cena vs Rhea Ripley! Yup! Cena competing in an intergender match and he can compete as The Peacemaker for all I care 😂
Corbin losing to Jinder wasn't Vince not knowing what to do They were punishing him because he argued with their quack doctor, that tried to downplay concussions.
One of my main issues with WWE these days, for all the praise they get for telling long-term stories, you can so often see the major beats coming from a mile away. Sure, it's better than the nonsensical "swerves for swerves' sake" booking Vince used to do, but while WWE now is consistent, it rarely feels that dramatic to me because you so often just know exactly how things are going to go. Especially now with Triple H's glacial storytelling pace, it becomes very easy to piece things together well before they happen.
In this day and age there’s just really no way to get around it. They did an angle where Drew beat punk completely bloody and forced him to get stretchered out to the hospital. Any other era, we’d be like ok punk is out of the equation and wouldn’t expect the run in but now everyone knows everything and fantasy books every possible outcome then posts it on RU-vid and we all expect the exact plot point.
@@steelvader1852 yeah, people say I hated the booking, so I'm gonna book it the way it should have been. Like that would of gotten the crowd any more excited.
Late with my Hot Take: As much as I loved the women’s match, I worry about Stratton. She had a lot of in ring confidence in NXT, but she seems to be have more fear of messing up on a bigger stage. Really hoping I’m proven wrong, but I see moments of hesitation in strings of moves. She’ll improve with time though. She just needs more main roster experience. Just hope fans allow her time to find her groove.
@@WrestleJuice I thought I was gonna be alone in feeling that way. 😂 I was ready to get crucified. She’ll be great, but it’s gonna take time to get used to the crowds.
@@mutedmayday Yeah, she did have a slip up in it,but I think that’s because she is probably a fan of Trish. I just see her speed isn’t like Iyo, Asuka,Charlotte , or even Lyra. I just think she doesn’t want to botch so badly that she’s overthinking things. She’ll improve, but the crowds are a lot bigger outside of NXT. It’s the same with Jade IMO. They haven’t found that flow yet, but they will find their confidence in time.
My problem with the Drew cash-in is that it didn’t need Money in the Bank at all. It could’ve been a regular triple threat and accomplished the same exact thing. Also, that’s twice in a row where Damian Priest is the least important part of his own title defense lmao
I just wanted to say I am tired of the wrestling Internet community not realizing how niche we are in reality there is no booking situation that we cannot conceive on this here Internet when it comes to professional wrestling no matter what they had booked somewhere somehow on Reddit/ Twitter wherever someone would’ve put forward a theory and figured out what they were planning so to say they could’ve executed this differently and given us more twists and turns or surprises is the perfect example of why we are called fickle and why McMahon refused to give us what we wanted for so long. 😂 The wrestling community that’s online is to then we know all the tricks we know all of the backstage stories we know all of the rumors and we actively seek them out so we make it impossible for them to surprise us and then when the story plays out just the way we’ve investigated until we found out it’s going to play out we are upset because we weren’t surprised🤣🤣🤦🏽♀️ there is no one on the roster that they are going to put into a world title picture who could have held the money in the bank briefcase that’s why they used it as a tool in a story instead of on its own I don’t understand how people don’t understand that very simple concept 🤷🏽♀️
I feel like Triple H probably doesn't like doing MITB because it's a vehicle that literally interferes with trying to write long term stories if you always have to factor in this one guy with a free title ticket. Also I'm pretty sure Priest not having any clean wins is the point. They've been saying that on tv. That's his character motivation.
Seth and Drew were the 2 ppl that called out Punk before he came back to WWE. When he came back both of them showed there animosity towards Punk. The results is long term booking and Punks revenge on Seth and Drew. Bad Blood = Drew vs Punk vs Seth 🔥🔥🔥
I don't think HHH is wanting to do fast track booking. Yes, Bron is good and he is the future of the company, but HHH doesn't think he should get the title that quick. He is going to build him. Yes, he took a loss to Sami, He is also building Sami, they are building a World title thing for him, not necessarily winning it, but a serious shot at the title. Bron it will be interesting to see how it goes for him the next few weeks.
In a way I think this is good, a year without the MITB case for once. We don't have to worry about WWE shoehorning someone into the title picture because they HAVE to use the case.
There’s a difference between good stories and good title reigns. Titles are kinda more important because titles have lineage and keep track of history. New fans 20-25 years from now can look through a title’s lineage, find a wrestler, and watch their defenses and matches. The week-to-week stuff is important now, yes. But from a historical standpoint, are we going back to watch 2004 WWE shows to see a champion’s weekly Smackdown or RAW segments, or are we going back to watch their PPV matches? Damian Priest has had that title for 3 months, wasn’t even on one of the PLEs since then, and he hasn’t been the reason for his own wins.
Fucking hated that Drew cash in. As soon as Drew’s music hit I knew Punk was going to screw him. They wasted MITB for a story that already has enough heat behind it. Drew has now been screwed out of the World Title THREE times in three months as well as the Backlash France number one contendership. It’s ridiculous and shit at this point. Drew should just absolutely squash Punk at SummerSlam. Just once it would have been nice to have both MITB holders have their briefcases until after SummerSlam. A much better use for MITB would have been Ilja winning that qualifying match, winning the briefcase and then announcing his cash in at SummerSlam for Bash in Berlin.
Who did you want to win? Also who would they win the title from and where in the storyline would it make sense? MITB can elevate a wrestler but it’s also a hindrance when it comes to ongoing storylines. No ongoing storyline would make it make sense for anyone to win it, except for Drew.
@@jholetroblesvergara Doesn’t have to be a successful cash in. Plus there’s time between winning the case and cashing in to you know, BUILD SOMEONE UP.
@@KegOfMeat alright so how would they have had Drew win MITB and for the briefcase not be ruined in your eyes? Drew basically declaring that if he wins the case that he’s gonna end the same night being the champion didn’t ring any bell? Or if he held onto it longer, people would just want to get the whole “Punk is gonna screw him over anyways” angle over. Or if he wins the title, Punk is gonna screw him out of his title on SummerSlam and give the title to Gunther. Like what storyline sense would anything else different happen last night?
Couple things Steve gets wrong here. Chelsea and Stratton do not occupy the same space. Chelsea is comic relief that isn't at all known for her in ring ability. Stratton has all the wrestling talent in the world. They don't occupy the same space. Second, Sami beating Bron was the right call. Keep this feud going. Bron needs to destroy Sami with a frightening attack on Raw, and then Sami can drop the belt to Bron after he returns from "injury." The belt is a pretty big deal now. You don't just hand it over to Bron.
I'm fine with sami winning, I'm just not sure it should have been that clean. Sami is supposed to be an underdog type babyface, but decisively wins. Not much of an underdog. And you're wrong about Chelsea. She is known for her wrestling. She just hasn't been able to show it
@@danday9697 I'm not wrong about Chelsea. She has always been known for her character work. Do you remember when she was Laurel Van Ness? She is fine in the ring. Nowhere near elite. Her character work is elite. Stratton is going to be elite in ring. Anyone can see that.
I'd like to see MITB in the future alternate between men and women year on year. Having two short MITB reigns in a year kills the gimmick, but having two long MITB reigns ends up with the same storyline.
Fellas I've cracked the booking!! The world title scene has probably already been figured out for the next 6 to 12 months so you'd rather have a former world champion fumble the cash-in. Doesn't damage any of the other guys
1. Cena’s Mania match should be against Randy Orton (despite how many times they wrestled, it was never one on one at Mania) 2. His last match should be to tie the World Championship record
I think Tiffany winning tells a similar story to the Naomi/Bayley storyline that could’ve happened. But on a grander scale. If Naomi wins, the potential drama between her and Bayley would be great. However, that would probably lead to a Heal Turn from one or the other and it doesn’t seem like their current presentation/character would suit that turn. With Tiffy winning and Nia winning the title at SS, the potential cash in during the lead up to WM can lead to her Baby Face turn that’s been gaining traction since Elimination Chamber. I don’t think WWE were expecting her to be so over with International Crowds. I do think they need to do a better job with Naomi. Hopefully we see a Midcard Championship introduction and fued between her and the likes of Chelsea Green etc
Personally, we're due for a big cash in like Rollins or Ziggler. The feeling that he wasted it would be way less prevalent if people had reason to pop for Priest's cash in.
these takes on Sami are getting absolutely ridiculous. Sami Hogan?!?! GTFOH. Sami has lost the majority of his matches for the better part of a decade. Seriously look at his cagematch...he's lost like 55% of his matches since being in WWE. he's only really started winning this year. People need to chill with that crap
I personally enjoyed the show. Of course it was stumbles along the way but I’ve learned to appreciate that it comes with the gig. I do think they could have did the cash in different AT FIRST but soon as Seth came around that corner, no words needed to be said.
I like what they did with the Mens Briefcase. We have not long ago had Priest hold that thing for a long, long time. Give the gimmick some time off. That and like others have said, the way it was done furthers two feuds really well. Another option though could have been give it to Jey, have Solo win at Summerslam, Roman comes out and beats the shit out of him, Jey cashes in on Solo.
Wild Theory! I know its insane. John Cena joins Solo’s Bloodline, In a shocking Hogan NWO fashion. Imagine, Face Roman vs Heel Cena Cody vs Cena, Orton, & KO vs Cena Imagine, Final-Boss Rock vs Heel Cena The possibilities are endless, more than likely we’ll just get the typical “Cena” experience. Most will say “why would he?” I have trust in HHH and Cena to figure out a figurative path. Just a thought I had at 3:30am
I feel like they want Sami to win because Gunther was so dominant that if the guy that took his belt didn’t look even half as strong as Gunther then it might make Gunther reign weaker. So by having Sami win all the time it makes him seem more worthy that he defeated Gunther
"The longer Sami Zayn holds the title the more fans will treat him like Cena". He's only held it 3 months. I like Bron but he looked pretty green in the match, his time will come
1. Agree. 2 feuds for 1 cash in 2. Agree. Bron should have not won, gotta make his call up beans, good first feud tho. 3. Agree. Jey is on a rocket without the title 4. False. 6 mans are cool, have been cool, and will be cool with the right participants and motives. 4a. The fans love SZ.
Ah, rasslin social media: The Final Frontier Of Fandumb. Drew being screwed was the only call to make. Punk isn't a babyface. We're meant to sympathize with Drew. Besides, they're telling the Punk/Elite story that was left unfinished, but in WWE style. MITB is what it's always been - a plot device, just like the Hell in a Cell that Punk and Drew will likely fight in at Bad Blood, signaling the winner as top contender. Geez, they could realistically book a Scramble match or Fatal 4-way at SummerSlam for the championship instead. And I don't think Gunther is necessarily a shoe-in to even win it all right now. It's not necessary. Another thing that's obvious: Priest's sole purpose is to defeat Balor clean. Then, he can lose to anyone.
I just realised Drew holds a record for one of the fastest cash ins and not be succesful. Everyone else who cashed in on the same night always got a victory. Kane, Liv Morgan, Dean Ambrose all had victories.
my hot take: i liked bron breakkers "old" theme, the on from nxt sucked big time, the new one was fast and intense, just wished he would run into the ring do some rope runs etc. the "new" new one from mitb is a good song but lacks the intensity.
Cena winning the world heavyweight championship will elevate the title's status as it will be considered as the one which broke the all time record and Cena will give it more credibility.
I find it funny that WWE doesn’t think things through but just stick to the plan to what they think works😅. The women’s MITB was pretty predictable for Tiffany Stratton to win but the men’s MITB, they did Jey uso dirty just like La knight last year😂. It was really dumb and hilarious for them to give the briefcase to Drew only to cash in later on the same night just to get screwed by punk which was obvious😂. They could’ve at least give that briefcase to chad gable so that he could cash in on Sami Zayn later on🤦🏾♂️. Reminds me to how they had Austin theory cash in unsuccessfully on Seth Rollins us title on raw for no reason
I lean more on the side the didn't like how they handled Drew cashing in, but I would not say it was the worst cash in ever. Austin Theory, Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, Damien Sandow, John Cena, the Miz in 2021. I would argue all or most of those were far more egregious. I don't think I'd even put Drew's in the top 5 worst.
I think it would have been much better to have Punk prevent the cash in and then every time Drew tries to cash in Punk is right there to stop him. It'd mean Drew would always be so close but because Punk he'd never be able to get the title.
