Hmm really? Personally, I find it fulfilling and satisfying. Every time I find a shiny, I admire it, then knock it out for the EXP. Other time's I just run away! I love doing that. Never caught a single shiny in my life, but I've seen hundreds. Even transfered a shiny Geodude once from Yellow over to Crystal! Hated how it looked though, so I just released it. I once found an Emerald game copy in a flea market, bought it, only to find out the previous owner had boxes full of legit shinies in their PC! Almost the entire dex. Deleted the save straight after that, who needs PC clutter anyway-

Non promoted gmaxes are near impossible to catch anyway. There are a few servers that hunt alot of shiny gmaxes, so theres ypur best bet to find more ^^ But the catch odd is only 9% with a repeatball, 8% with an ultraball and I think 1% or 3% for pokeballs, something like that. It also cant be influenced with paralysis, sleep etc. So the odds of actually catching it was slim either way :/

@@elissafrasure8523 yeah, the catchrate is pretty terrible for most gmax Pokemon. I really don't get why GF even put them so low. Without the day skip method, even just getting to see a gmax was super rare (they have a low odd of even appearing, most of the time a 5% chance in a purple beam). Imagine if date manipulation wasn't possible, they'd be so rare. And then you'd wanna invite friends to a rare raid, its rarety encourages to share it. And then just to see that you as the host have a 100% catch rate while its nearly guaranteed that non of your friends will catch them since their catchrate as friends at best is 9% with a repeat ball. How is that fun nor fair? You can imagine how disappointed invited people were, it discourages you to even participate in those gmax raids since you'll mostlikely not catch it anyway. No idea why GF thought that was a good idea. Thats also why masterballs are so sought out for this time around. Luckely date skip is a thing. Like I mentioned, there are many servers with many kind people hosting amazing raids. You might wanna check those out if you're looking for specific Gmaxes or wanna get some shinies ^^ (these are the odds for non promoted gmax tho. Promoted ones are waaay often with a much better catch rate. But who wants to wait till their wanted gmax is promoted?)

I once succeeded catching a shiny Audino in BW, and then forgot to save. And powered off the DS.
