@@Strong_TGK I wish Maven had a gimmick or move that stood out. Would Orton be a superstar, let alone a legend, without the RKO or having a great body? Who knows?
@@kenterminateddq5311his drop kick stood out and the issue was WWE didn’t know how to market Maven nobody wanted Randy in the main event in the early 2000’s EXCEPT HHH
Athletes wishing to go back "I would have made that shot" "I would have run that race" "I would have won." Maven: "I wish I had been nicer." Man, you are a Prince among men, don't let nobody tell you otherwise.
@@MavenKHuffman Hey Maven, I'd love to see a video dedicated to how you and other wrestlers kept yourselves in such good shape while on the road all the time. You've probably touched upon it briefly in some other videos, but a full breakdown would be great.
@@Zoogleashey mate. I’m not hater. Loved the business back then and especially in the 90’s. But the honest answer is nutrition and plenty of jabs. And I’m definitely not hating. I completely understand!
He said its an easy move to take but recently wrestlers would land on their side taking the F5 making it look not as devastating when i think of the F5 i think of the one Maven took
@@iamgodspeed6443why? bumps are the first things you learn (i went to a wrestling school when i was around 12, i wasn’t allowed to learn the moves or take bumps but i learned chain wrestling, and they told me and my parents that bumps would be the next step when i’m of legal age.). I’m 16 now and not much has changed. Anyway, why would they not want to take a stomach bump? It’s not difficult, i don’t believe.
@@ThatZidaneGuy, I've read that a fair amount of animations are based on Maven's sells, and it checks out. He's made much more of an impact than most would realize with how real he'd been.
Your selling of Austin's Mule Kick was absolutely picture perfect lol. The fact, the grabbing your balls, and then falling over like a dead body in rigamortus was just hilarious. Not to mention selling of the stunner was beautiful too.
What I like about Maven’s channel is that he looks at the wrestling business from a different angle. Not the same old gossip stories everyone has heard a million times.
Seeing the Tough Enough footage, I was thinking it would be an awesome video to try and arrange a Tough Enough season 1 reunion with Chris and Josh and the others. Hearing all of you break down and discuss what you were thinking at the time would be awesome.
@@brolysupersaiyan1634 My guess is Triple H would still be the same way to recruits, Upfront and Serious. You have to have that dawg in you if you wanna make it in the World Wrestling Federation-Entertainment.
@@brolysupersaiyan1634I think since Kayfabe was more important then that’s how he acted on the show. I hope now he would be more soft spoken because personally I fuckin hate the ‘drill sergeant’ way of teaching.
Maven , in all seriousness i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤ You might not know this but you are actually my favorite wrestler, i remember, i was at high school, watching WWE, smacked down, Raw, I remember all my friends loved the show it push me to be better person. You actually help many kids , at my school i took the bus , i had a family yet all kids in Bus, went to foster home group home kids with no families no mom no dad, and i remember all kids talk about you , and it made me like you thay much more thank you. It really help my friends I remember tgey talker about the show I love watching when it aired. But I got into wrestling because of them and because of them I got to cheer for you. May the lord bless you and love you. ❤ I'm still you're fan , and love watching your RU-vid series, it helps me through my days at work, and helps me in my days in life. I love you thanks for making my childhood the best!!! ❤
Top 5 moments of Maven ranked for me personally : 1 Undertaker Elimination 2 Wrestling Triple H for WHC on Heat 3 New Years Revolution Promo 4 Heel turn on Eugene 5 Survivor Series spot with Snitsky Honestly wished things could have went better for you brotha. I remember as a little kid watching you even though i was a huge SmackDown mark 😂 Telling my mom I hope you beat Shelton for the IC title. Love the progress of the channel! been here since the first video. Stay blessed and God bless
My family started watching WWF in 1997 and quit around 06. When Stone Cold came out it was the loudest place ever and it is still unmatched to this day. Absolutely a legend.
Could you do a video discussing what WWE producers do in terms of putting matches together? Like, if producers have certain trademarks that we might be able to spot (Dusty finish, etc), and what input wrestlers can have on how matches are put together? Maybe a touch on the cinematography and camera work? Top stuff as always Maven. Love ya.
I was there for the raw segment with Stone Cold. My mum got tickets and a plane trip all the way from England to Los Angeles for me to see that raw episode for my 12th birthday. Its genuinely one of the defining moments of my childhood and probably the best birthday present i ever got. Funnily, i was in the toilet when stone cold made his entrance, and the glass break and pop was so loud i heard it from where i was peeing. Safe to say i did not wash my hands, and ran back pretty much still in mid flow lol. It was the best part of the show -- and you are right then when stone cold was in the ring everything was just different. He was my hero at that time, and i didn't know he would be making an appearance, i was stoked as hell.
Remember when Josh hosted RAW for the first time and his nose exploded in a massive nerves-inspired nosebleed four seconds into the broadcast? Yeah, youtube needs that clip.
Gotta tell you... i was an 80s/90s kid. My Uncle, 11 years older than me, who has some pretty severe disabilities, was ALL OVER watching WWF. I loved watching with him. Taker, the ultimate warrior, legion of doom, hacksaw... such great, great memories. Your videos have brought so much of that back for me. I had pretty much stopped watching in 96 when i joined the military. Watching your videos makes me wish i would have continued watching. Thank you for making these videos. Keep it up, stud!
Speaking of crowd control. I once saw Corey Taylor of Slipknot tell a crowd of around 90,000 at Download Festival here in England to take 2 steps back, and the crowd did it. Turns out the barrier at the front had collapsed, and people were piling through. Everyone stops immediately and just obeys given the right person asks.
Thank you Maven for taking us back to the past. I always feel nostalgic whenever i watch your videos. I wish you could've stayed in wwe and be recognized as the other Superstar.
I'm pretty sure he was the first to take a chokeslam from The Undertaker and the first to take a cross body from Bruno Sammartini. Heck, I believe there's a video of him taking a suplex from Abrham Lincoln back in the day
@MavenKHuffman Hey thanks Maven! Yeah I was skinny teenager in Ireland back then and had just gotten into weights.. No cable TV, Internet so my best motivation was that 1hr WWF programme that got me fired up! Your content here is amazing. 😊🙏👍 Amazing insights into life as a U.S. professional wrestler!
You would actually be a great on camera "breakdown" personality for the WWE or ESPN. Im learning english and you speak very coherently and have a good clean look.
Maven you’re the real deal bro, so humble, it honestly makes me want to be a better person, you speak a lot of wisdom and share a lot of stories of wrestlers who people would think are assholes but are actually humble and have all these wholesome moments backstage.
Hunter was accurate in describing what the business requires from you. I know that the mindset within the company has become more friendly towards new athletes. Which is really good because they tell you upfront what you need but they don't try to make it sound impossible at the same time. WWE is way healthier internally than when Maven was there for sure.
Great stuff as always MAV!! Man I miss getting to watch you wrestle.... from your journey thru tough enough to winning it all..until your last match I always looked forward to seeing you on the card. Not to get in the feelers.. but I was going thru some stuff back then and you always gave me an escape. Your a talent that deserved a much longer run!! Your a great inspiration of trails and tribulations.. so thank you. Good shi man.
I'm obsessed with your videos! Totally missed out on your run on WWE, because I only came to Wrestling around 2008. It's incredible to see someone basically coming from a reality show having such memorable moments with the guys we consider the greatest in the business. Maybe you yourself are greater than you'd like to admit.
Trip saying he’s never done mud wrestling is hilarious. I know for certain I saw him in a hog pen wallerin’ around after losing a match with Henry Godwinn at “In Your House,” late 1995. I’m pretty sure that was him mud wrestling. 😂😂😂😂
He wasn't mud wrestling though. The match was in the ring. The hog pen spot happened after the finish. When he beats Henry, Henry slams him in the pen.
I was a fan in the early nineties as a kid and then again in high school. 2001 I went to college and stopped watching for most of that decade. This video makes me realize how much stuff I missed and how I wish I could have watched it live.
This is actually for some reason one of those random segments that I just always remembered, and fondly at that. You guys were perfect cannon fodder for a prime rattlesnake.
I know it probably isn't worth making an entire video about, but one of my fondest memories from the era you wrestled was the energy that Lilian Garcia put into announcing your name every time you stepped into the ring. Did you have much interaction with the ring announcers to talk about how they would introduce you during your entrance?
Thank you for the memories of our childhoods and the ones you create here as well! On a personal note, I suffer from depression and your videos have been my daily therapy, so thanks for your content too! You never know what may save lives!
Without a doubt one of my favorite RU-vid channels. I just love these behind the scenes, tell it how it is videos. You are giving wrestling fans of your generation such an amazing look
Maven needs to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and also work with the WWE come on it deserves it this is one of the best channels on RU-vid please keep making incredible videos Big fan from Nicaragua
He shouldn't be in the HoF but as a backstage interviewer or commentator he would likely be HoF material provided he worked long enough. They really should hire him.
Sir I used to watch wrestling every chance I got, with my brother. I remember watching your matches. You were great. I haven’t watched wrestling in a very long time. But I found your videos, and I am hooked. You are so POSITIVE it’s contagious. I admire that a lot. And I’ve learned a ton that I didn’t know about wrestling. Just wanted you to know your videos are really helping me out of a really dark time right now
You were the first person on TV to take the f5. Spike funkaki and a couple other people took it in dark matches when he was first coming up that are available on youtube. But the F5 his first 6 months was amazing. He absolutely launched you and so many other guys. That's one of my favorite moves to take. But every once in a while you eat shit on it and it hurts. Haha but Brock used to just fucking throw people and spin them so much and now he basically just throws them up over his head and drops them straight down and it looks like shit
your videos are so awesome, maven. id love to see you break into a show similar to the undertaker at some point. i think youd do a great job. keep it up regardless man
Triple H had definitely looked at you with every comment about getting laid because you have that sort of atmosphere which others there hadn't which he could tell that you're handsome and articulate and likely to make it and marks would be drawn to you in attraction. He was very right. He'd seemed to hope that you wouldn't grow an ego, and had checked you at the gate. It would be amazing for you to have him on the channel, when he has time for it!
@@MavenKHuffman, definitely. He's making so many awesome changes to the company which have been a long time coming, and after this past Wrestlemania being such a major event even by 'mania standards, his workload has to be at an all-time high. Still, if you can catch him in the right timeframe like Logan Paul, you're at a great trajectory for views to be as worthwhile as shooting with an old student of The Game, it's possible. From that episode of Tough Enough to him loaning you ring boots and the Evolution offer storyline and other anecdotes which you have in the Maven Information Vault to he being WWE Head of Creative and you being one of the top wrestling content creators, it's one hell of a path, and top booking. He's really there for the best. Many all-time 🐐s will come, and I have a feeling that he's one.
Sold that stunner like The Rock, truly top tier. I never fully appreciated your in ring days but seeing them now with you on playback opens an all new appreciation.
It was cool looking back at tough enough and see all the guest wrestlers coming back during your WWE career milestones! I wish you covered that World Heavyweight Championship match against Triple H when you were acting GM! That was complete chaos in the ring 😂
Maven, you lived the dream even if it wasn't long lived my man. 3 things I would like before I die, to be stone cold stunnered, undertaker tombstoned and Kane chokeslammed. If Rowdy Roddy was still around I would just want him to berate me for 5 minutes.
Maven is exactly who I would want in my corner telling me and reminding me things I should definitely be doing as a wrestler.. well anything really lol
I remember people really dogging on Maven. Reality shows weren't always popular where i was from. And he proved them wrong. In his entire career i think thats something to truly be proud of. Couldn't have been more happy for him.
This was fun, Mave! Between you and me, and everyone who reads these, I never cared for Brock. Yes, he’s able, mean looking dude, I personally found his character to be boring.
Hey Maven it’s Myles from middle school! Still got a picture of you and the class before you left for the show. Hope you’re doing good 👍🏻. It was amazing when you actually won ! Hope this reaches you man.
