@@ChaseCarneson and than i noticed she was a gargoyle, barbie milf princess of the twilight (bit absurd) or uranus which they just realised a music video for
Just wanted to point out the lyric at 14:15 for all the non italians here because it's brilliant wordplay. Carpenter in italian is "falegname", from there "falegn-amen". I love them
Knisa grey is better than Sasha Grey. (Presses pause button) "No!". Chase, you are the first reactor who acknowledged that line AND replied to it without really doing that. Genuis!
@@ChaseCarneson Now you need to react to their song Uranus and yes that's the title of their song ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OSWszdSHkyE.html
You can tell when other reactors get to that part and don't want to say anything. It might just be a twitch of the lip or an involuntary slight widening of the eyes. You KNOW they know who Sasha Grey is, but they never acknowledge her... until NOW! 🤣🤣🤣
Imagine, peacefully eating your lunch, and suddenly, your phone pings. Your friend has send you some nice new music, cool. You open it, choke and for the next 6 min 40 seconds you are cackling like a loon an extended Ikea ad. The boss walks in and now you have to explain why you are lauhing by yourself in an empty lunchroom. I am not speaking from experience. 😄😄😂
I just realised it: at the end, on the TV is playing "trading places". That's an inside joke for italians, because that's always played on christmas eve on italian TV since the first 2000s. This video is SO DEEP.
Thank you, I was so confused. After Norweigan Reaggeton I assumed they were Norwegian. But this one is unmistakably Swedish-themed. If they are Italian that explains why they struggle so hard with åäö in ikea names xD
Gloryhammer is basically a DnD/Warhammer 40k campaign with power metal soundtrack. Angus McFife is the character he plays in their songs. Each album is a continuous story. I would recommend Unicorn Invasion of Dundee, Universe on Fire and Masters of the Galaxy. I chose one song from each album.
One of the things I love about Nanowar of Steel is that while they're making crazy, multi-layered parody songs, they write some of the best melodies and killer riffs out there. The big riff when the band joins in is one of the best riffs I've heard in ages.
never heard the song til now, found it hilarious, but wanted to note there is a hebrew pun. it says "shema' Yggdrasil, Odinai Eloheinu, Odinai Ehad." it's an intentional butchery of a hebrew prayer (a quote from deuteronomy) that is the ultimate rejection of polytheism lol. they changed "Hear, Israel, ADONAI (a traditional way to refer to God instead of pronouncing the name Yahweh), our God, ADONAI is one" into "Hear, Yggdrasil, our Odin is our God, our Odin is one!"
You were wondering where to go next with this? Well, Nanowar of Steel just released a new song called "Uranus". So, the ESA (European Space Agency) have a planned Uranus Pathfinder mission to be launched in 2022. Nanowar of Steel wanted to commemorate the mission. This is, however, Nanowar of Steel, yes it's THAT pronunciation. Also, to add one personal request/recommendation: Continue with more Gojira, they released a track from their Red Rocks live show not long ago; Pray (Extended). ...and people said the Magma album wasn't heavy enough
For non Italians: the word around 14:16 _FALEGN-AMEN_ is a pun with Italian word _falegname_ = woodworker Honourable Mention to Chase, who really got an hard time with keeping his focus and get us some cool tips about the music! 😁🤘
Un termine più preciso per tradurre _falegname_ potrebbe essere _joiner_ ma non l'ho mai sentito usare. dal Merriam-Webster: *woodworking:* the act, process, or occupation of working wood into a useful or desired form *carpenter:* a worker who builds or repairs wooden structures or their structural parts dal Collins: *woodworker:* a person who works in wood, such as a carpenter, joiner, or cabinet-maker
Nanowar of Steel’s totally serious song “And then I noticed that she was a gargoyle” should be up next. For Gloryhammer, just know that there is a hammer, an evil wizard, Dundee and Fife are really important places, and there are unicorns, a Hootsman and lots of hoots. They have a live concert from Wacken 2019, that is available on RU-vid, and the description has the starting times of each of the songs, so you can pick out whichever you want. Their videos are very good too. Hootsforce, Siege of Dunkeld (In Hoots We Trust), Land of the Unicorns and Gloryhammer are all great songs!
She was a Gargoyle is freaking amazing. I show it to everyone I know, and even though they ask what the hell is wrong with me, I keep showing everyone.
With regards to Gloryhammer: Firstly it is an RPG Band in the sense that each Memeber plays a role in their narrative universe that continues over all the releases Secondly my react recommendations: Universe of Fire Rise of the Chaos Wizard Gloryhammer (probably the best of these to get to know them) Have fun and thanks for you reactions
"i can never go again to ikea without having to think of this" cant celebrate christmas or go to church anymore without thinking of this and just imagine bursting out in laughter at a funeral...FUN...eral...ah im doomed XD
Nice reaction! As a swede this song broke me too. They do it so well, the early reference to systembolaget, the ikea longboat and then the random reading of the ikea catalog... impressive
Nanowar of Steel had fanmeetings in IKEA shops during their last tour, there's a video on their channel and it's totally worth watching! If you want more Nanowar, please watch 'And then I noticed that she was a Gargoyle' or 'Ironmonger'! (their last track Uranus is cool too) And please react to Gloryhammer they are excellent (I'd suggest starting with their title track 'Gloryhammer' and then whatever floats your goat... Do yourself a favour and get into the lore first, it makes everything so much better^^).
Nanowar of Steel's "And then I noticed she was a gargoyle" and "Uranus" for a great laugh. Also "Barbie MILF of the Princess Twilight" for a little bit of Rhapsody of Fire Parody and and "Ironmonger" for some power metal feel that feels a little like Manowar.
It is amazing to hear just how well put together a parody metal band singing about Ikea with a church choir would be. The production is extremely high quality.
This reaction is so great, so serious and funny at the same time. I love how you try to stay so serious and give real, fact based comments while maintaining to not die of laughing. Man, this is so fun to watch, because you show us, what this is about. Serious musicians putting a lot of efforrt in procuction while at the same time having a lot of fun.
and the song ends with Trading Places on the TV in background. For non-Italians, EVERY Christmas that movie is on TV in Italy, typical christmas movie for a er, typical christmas song
This reaction was everything I thought it could be and more. This song just makes me happy like nothing else I have heard. My friend has started using Valhallelujah in everyday speech for bestowing high praise on something because of this song. It was a great time watching you enjoy this.
"is this the gloryhammerguy" *ya goddamn right* I found them with Hootsforce , a video whose comments are amazing. One in particular i like is "The perfect balance of epically stupid and stupidly epic."
The best part about this whole song is the gradual descent into madness that is IKEA... they start out with the Christmas theme.. move into Viking-coir and finally drop the curtain with Odin. It truly is one of the greatest and best descents into ridiculousness.
The best part is that they played this song in some IKEA markts! And no, the didn't have some little gigs or so in there. They just showed up and played until they got kicked out! XD
Fun Fact: In the end, you can see "Trading Places" being broadcast on tv. In Italy, the movie has been broadcast on one of the same major network, on Christmas' Eve or Christmas, from 1997.
during the end... they also managed to fill in even another joke by playing with the word AMEN singing "FALEGN-AMEN!" which in italian means carpenter.. indeed nanowar of steel is a crazy group.. with with great music skill
well, this is the new second best ever reaction to this song. The top spot of course goes to Nanowar's own video of Ikea furniture reacting to this song... :D
This is a song about the drama that afflicts a man who on Christmas Eve will have to assemble a shelf, bought from IKEA and with instructions in Swedish.
One of the best moments is right at the end, when on the tv you can see some frames of the movie "Trading places": here in Italy they show it every single Christmas, so much that it became a meme.
Nice reaction! Found this video while scrolling in my recommendations, read the title and got instant flashes of myself in high school listening to nanowar and atroci with my friends... what a glorious time! Thanks for reminding me!
Gloryhammer is a similarly comedic band from Scotland, but with an epic sci-fi fantasy theme with songs about things like a hammer that was forged in the heart of a star and that is powered by lasers, an army of unicorns that shoot lasers from their eyes attacking a medieval kindom, an ancient wizard of evil named Zargothrax who is attempting to conquer the universe and, most importantly, an Austrian man who travels to California, becomes rich and famous as a movie star and proceeds to become the ruler of the land and an immortal god-king of legendary strength. Also, every location mentioned in their songs is a real place in Scotland.
they are absolutely brilliant! Proud to be italian ahaha... next stop is "and then i noticed that she was a gargoyle" or "barbie milf princess of the twilight (ft. Fabio Lione)"
Here's a few suggestions: Kontrust - Butterfly defect (live version), Bomba, Hey DJ and Sock n Doll. I recommend starting with Sock n doll :) Russkaja - Barada, Energia, Get Lucky, Roar, Wake me up, Traktor
Great video, I really enjoy see people reacting to this band. They released their first album in 2003 but they exploded only in 2019 with Norwegian Reggaeton. Many people will probably recommend you to listen to Uranus which is indeed a good song, you can easily guess the jokes in it, but in my opinion Ironmonger is a better song all around.
My favourite song is Giorgio Mastrota, that is a masterpiece. I think, for non Italian people, it's difficult to understand, even if I saw an English version of it
@@animapersa_silvia2119 The thing with Giorgio Mastrota is you can't really appreciate it without knowing the early 2000s television sales panorama in Italy. Their more recent work is just easier to access for foreign audiences in my opinion.
This has put the biggest smile on my face this morning. What an amazing piece. Time to go to Ikea and find myself a ship to build. Have a great holiday everyone.
I loved your reaction! And yes, the guitar solo is cool. I think "Uranus" featuring Still Panther will be easier to react to but it is still a masterpiece with a funny text . And "and then I noticed that she was a gargoyle" would be nice too. Both the pieces are gorgeous but the text of the second one is outstanding.
I was a little late discovering your channel and am slowly working my way through your videos (almost caught up!), but there were two songs I was going to drop everything and watch if you reacted to them, and this was one of them. You did not disappoint. What a great song and great reaction!
I am so glad that this was the first video of yours that I saw. it was so good. I adored your reaction, it was so hilarious. Can't wait to go watch more now. Definitely check out Gloryhammer (I love their songs Gloryhammer, Masters of the Galaxy, and Rise of the Chaos Wizards), make sure to watch the music videos. you'll be in for a ride. Also, Alestorm is a must.
Please feel free to laugh (or show any kind of emotion) as much as you want, during your reactions, Chase! I was almost expecting you to stand up and dance and sing along to the praise of Odin towards the end of the song😂 As a Swede I'm impressed how many swedish things and customs they managed to squeece in to this song. Not to mension all the names of IKEA's products😂! And they've really done their homework about the Vikings and Viking-gods.
Damn!! I wanted to be in on the premier!!! This is the best IKEA commercial I've ever seen! But, I had to go do a med test. Oh I'm so mad I missed this!
Omfg I couldn't stop laughing during this one lol. Such a good song. And I love how at a certain point you just couldn't take it anymore other than for the really funny lines. Everything else you'd just shake your head. As for where to go next, I'd suggest And Then I Noticed That She Was a Gargoyle for more Nanowar of Steel. As for Gloryhammer, you obviously have to react to them now that you see how good a singer Angus McFife XIII is. I'd recommend their song Gloryhammer as a good place to start for them
This reaction was so hilarius. I love it. I hope someday I spend my Christmas Eve in that same way. Great song and great video. I wonder how You survive this reaction? Only Odin Master of Ikea know it. :D
