if i’m not wrong, Taka was actually sick during this concert so his throat wasn’t in the best condition, which is freaking crazy cause he sounds amazing. when i watch other “We Are” stages i can tell the difference but as a performance this is one of my favorites.. the emotions are just insane

The song was written for when the age for voting went down to 18. Watch the 18 fest version of this song. It is so emotional. They sing for and with 3000 + 17 to 19 teens. It is so special. ❤

Thank you for trying to react to their live. Hope you continue checking them here or on your own time as they are worth listening to. Taka's voice always amazes me, he can belt and scream while running around the stage for 2 hrs and still sounds incredible. Aside from singing he has this charisma in commanding his audience. And he was sick at this concert, imagine how his lungs survived the 2 hr show. This song is written for the 18yr-olds when Japan lowered the age of voters from 20 to 18. It is inspired of course of the experiences of the band. They formed the band in their teens and struggled their way up to make their name in the industry. Before joining the band, Taka ran away from home at a young age, quit school and worked in shops in Tokyo to support himself. He is a son of 2 famous singers in Japan but disowned him during those times when Taka did not want what his parents want him to be. So for majority of their songs, since Taka is the main composer of the band, you can tell that their songs inspired by his experiences in life as a teenager.

I went to their dome tour for Luxury Diseases earlier this year, they had We Are in the setlist and yeah I did cry my eyes out during the sing along. One of the best experience ever! Going to see them again for their Asian tour next week! 🎉

Apart from all the message and the meaning and just how awesome this song is in its own right, don't you think it would be one of the best songs to be singing along with in the crowd? All those thousands of people singing, "We are!" at the top of their lungs, all in unison. It's basically a song saying you're not alone; whatever you're experiencing, other people are having the same problems and we can stand together and support each other. It must be a trip to sing such a song with thousands of strangers. You're practically demonstrating the meaning of the lyrics you're singing! I'd love to be part of that. Awesome song writing.

They are definitely an out of this world experience. I saw them a year ago in a much smaller venue in the US, and the passion is equal. They are the real deal. The band is Epic Live. One OK Rock has always spoken truth in their lyrics. They have never held back punches. The band is amazing at what they do but it isn't just Taka. He has an amazing voice which many voice coaches cannot praise any higher and it is stunning but let us also give whole hearted credit to the rest on the band. Toru, those quiet, soft moments steal the show. Freaking magical. Ryota, it wouldn't work without those magical fingers. And Tomoya, find someone who slays it like he does. The lyrics you looked up are incorrect. It's not "not here to hold you" but "now here to hold you." Big difference. If you need lyrics and/or translations, I run a lyrics archive. The link is in my channel profile. This song was written for 18 Fes, which was a program on NHK where they gathered 1000 18 year olds from around Japan to perform with the band. At the time, 18 year olds were getting the right to vote for the first time but in Japan, you're considered a minor until you hit 20, so the song is to empower them. This band is so great live. Hope you check out more of their stuff and go watch them live if they come play near you.

After some kpop stuff got really dull recently (not your fault just the lack of good comebacks) its nice to see you listening to one of my fav rock groups out there.

One of my three favorite Japanese bands. All meant to listen to live, period, all the time. One Ok Rock, Wagakki, and of course the insanely talented Band Maid.

Also the fact that he can write these smash hits in two different languages incredibly talented... A lot of his inspiration is Linkin Park & Chester Bennington

(one of my favorite bands) another band i'd like for u to check out is "citizen soldier" u don't have to worry about any copyright stuff with anything from them. all their songs are about depression/abuse and all those topics and are extremely powerful and have helped me a LOT as i've gone through the darkest part of my life. i could honestly recommend any song but i'd say either go with any title that catches your eye or any pf those: strong for somebody else, reason to live (soft song), limit (ft. lø spirit), easy's never been this hard, i could go on and on because all songs are good if not amazing but yeah those are some of my favorites

Taka´s voice is no joke, but not just that, he is a full perfomance, I follow them from the very begging, it´s SO good to see their talent beeing recognized like that.... they really deserve it. Very few artists these days have that kind of passion.

Yes 🙌🏽 OOR is an EPIC Band. I love this group….they are so talented. I found them a few years back and I always return to re-listen to their music 🎼. Even though I watched this Video and listen to this song so many times it still gives me goosebumps. The Luxury Disease album they released this year is fantastic. Let me let you go has a MV that I would recommend. It shows a lot of live moments and the song is just so good. They are just absolute legends.

Someone said that it looks like the end of a movie after the band goes though a lot of hardship to be where they are right now.
