The years the Rumble winner didn’t main event WrestleMania since the title match stipulation was put in place was 1995, 1997, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2017, 2018, 2020 women’s, 2022, women’s and 2023 women’s.There's already precident for a Royal Rumble winner cashing in before Wrestlemania. Cena did it in 2008. So, maybe at Elimination Chamber in Perth. The problem with that is there's only a couple weeks until then. That'll make it hard to sell to most people. At any rate, this is all wild and interesting!

Pitching an explanation and fixing the Cody/Rock situation (while rebabyfacing the rock again to cody fans) The Rock at the press conference comes out and says that he spoke to Cody and the discussion revolved around the bloodline and the interference in everyone else's matches versus Roman. That Cody deserves a fair shot at the title but with Roman as head of the table, Cody, and everyone else for that matter, will never get a fair shot because solo, Jimmy etc will always be there to do his bidding. The rock will make it clear that he never wanted to take the title from Roman nor does he want to take codys spot. His intention is to take the head of the table/tribal cheif position from Roman and that way it means the rest of the family will then answer to the rock, and it will leave Roman all alone and vulnerable for a fair fight against Cody. The rock didn't take codys rumble victory from him and Cody did not give away his rumble win, the plan was to make sure that cody did not WASTE his rumble win this time so they could try and avoid the bloodline interference. He will say that he was going to do this at Wrestlemania and Cody was going to challenge Roman for the title afterwards down the line but after the outcry, he also agrees that Cody deserves his moment and chance this Yr at Wrestlemania so this is what's going to happen. Rock will face Roman on night one for the head of the tablw/tribal cheif position. Once rocky beats him, Roman will be alone and will have to face Cody without help. Now obviously, the way to book this is for Roman to still beat rock so Cody still has all the adversity against him on night 2. Secondly, when Roman says that's not fair, why do I have to fight twice and not Cody, that's when Cody says "that's not true, I will be having two matches at wrestlemania as well, because I need to get payback against someone else" and he will point at solo. Solo cost him last year, he doesn't get away with that. So this leaves everything balanced with Cody and Roman both fighting twice. Cody beats solo and gets revenge. Roman beats rock. He's still the head of the table. The next night we can have the rock meet cody backstage and apologise that he couldn't pull through on his part of the plan and wish him luck in his match vs Roman. During the night 2 main event when solo and Jimmy are interfering again, that's when you hit the music and the rock comes down to clear the ring and keep the bloodline at bay while Cody finishes off Roman and finishes the story, winning the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship and in the wake of the fallout, were all set up for a Roman vs Rock rematch at a later date or at next year's wrestlemania. This also technically does not have to be revealed entirely as the plan at the press conference in las vegas. That's just the first place you could do this. Alternatively you can reveal this plan slowly over the next few weeks on TV.

Cody beats Roman at WM, gets title (doesn’t pull a Roddy Piper) and after Roman loses it on bloodline, has matches with them keeping them in line, Rock returns for the head of the table at Summerslam.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Cena have his Royal Rumble win in 2008 be used at No Way Out, before Wrestlemania 24? So maybe that's the idea here. Cody's wording on that Smackdown was very specific, so maybe he wins it at the Chamber, in Australia.

If Cody were to end up challenging Roman for the title before Wrestlemania, it's not like he'd be the first person to do that. John Cena did it in 2008. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch for it to end up being Cody vs Roman for the title at Elimination Chamber with The Rock as Special Guest Referee or Special Enforcer. From there they could do Roman vs Rock at Wrestlemania, and could (should imo) have Cody vs Randy for the title also.

Won't happen but the easiest solution is for Cody to say he's not coming for Roman at WrestleMania for the WWE championship because he doesn't think he'll be able to beat his opponent at Elimination Chamber... The true head of the table, The Rock. We get Rock vs Roman which people do want, but at EC, it doesn't get in the way of WrestleMania, where he can still be a special enforcer to prevent bloodline interference. And then at Mania we get Cody vs Roman which the fans want. Rock would still be part of the story, and involved in the Main Event which he wants. It's the best case scenario. Or version two, Roman sits at the head of the table, on the other side is Rock and they both think they're head of the table. Roman does some trash talking before eventually signing it. He slides it over and the Rock smiles, Roman just signed a contract that said if the bloodline interferes in any he'll lose the championship. He picks the pen up to sign it, but he doesn't sign. Cody Rhodes music hits and he signs the contract. The Rock and Cody just played Roman and the Wiseman. Cheers would erupt in the audience.

Hot Take: Kayfabe in today's era of professional wrestling is equal parts weird and exciting. Take the case of Cody Rhodes, "Finishing The Story," for example. Previously, that would be a question. However, WWE is okay with confirming it will happen and when. How many more fans would like The Rock vs. Roman Reins at Wrestlemania #40 if Kayfabe was stronger or not "broken" and "Finishing the Story" was less of a certainty?

Rock and reigns was at chamber but had to get bumped to keep a main attraction match at mania, with punk now out. Cody was supposed to find his way there another way. Possibly with The Rocks help. I agree if they wanted Roman vs Rock then Cody shouldn't have won the Rumble. They should've had Punk (they obviously didn't know he would get injured) or Drew win and challenge Seth. While making Drew a hot heel using Punk as a jolt. Roman & Rock will finally get to "tell their story" after you fickle fans nagged them for years! Elevating Solo Sikoa in that process. Trust the product! Instead of just hate watching ignoring their content's effort. That adversity comment doesnt make any sense,though. Cody isnt struggling to get a match with Roman. He had a clear shot at him and is giving it to the Rock. That's not even close to adversity. The only person in the way of Cody in kayfabe is himself.

This is a simple case of people at the top of TKO thinking they can book whoever they want because they're in charge. This is why if you're not the head of creative or the booker, you should be nowhere near the actual product of WWE. The Rock also should be nowhere near the product of WWE because last year, he declined wrestlemania. TKO and The Rock should strictly stick to brand deals, licensing, and sponsorships for WWE because, ultimately, that's their job. The Rock was not going to sell anymore tickets for wrestlemania than him not being there. You compromised your everyday fanbase for a one-time pop and maybe a couple more sponsors for wrestlemania. Now they're trying to turn it into a work to save the whole thing

My extremely hot take about this whole thing remains largely unchanged from last year: It makes all the sense in the world for Cody to be the one to dethrone Roman based on the story they've been telling BUT I also don't want to see this iteration of babyface Cody with the title, I don't like the character at all. So I was conflicted last year and no matter what happens, I'll probably be conflicted this year.

I disagree with the crying about people using Becky to insult Rollins. That's some new millennium, wishy washy, masculinity shit. It's not that there's using his wife to insult him. Steve and Larson's fixation on Cody winning the Rumble somehow screwing up the story is misguided. Sometimes wrestling observers and fans need to think outside of the box. You are bound to be disappointed if your expectations are too rigid. WWE has created more buzz for Wrestlemania with the injection of The Rock into the story. The fact that people are so up in arms about Cody benefits WWE. It's up to the creative team to stick the landing.

Rock / Roman is going to be the main event and rock is going to beat Roman's immense title run and Cody will look like a giant ass. This is how it's going to be and it's going to be awful.

Being honest, I don't really care about Cody finishing his story at Mania, and he's not even the one I feel bad for. I feel bad for Seth in all of this, he lost his Mania opponent due to injury and now the title he's built means nothing because Cody and Seth are CLEARLY each others second choice, but Seth and not Cody has to be the one to sell the match, which makes him look worse and reinforces the Roman title is THE title. And on top off all of that, unless a big swerve is coming, Seth now had to lose the Cody for a 4th time in a row as an afterthought to make Cody's fans happy and make them feel like he's not wasting his time or being screwed. And even if Either Seth and Cody do go against each other and Seth wins or Cody does actually face Roman, it doesn't change the fact that they had to weaken Seth and the WHC (which people already dismissed) just to get there.

I mean wwe has allot of work rate guys and fire matches but at the end of the day it’s still WWE. If I want puro I’ll go watch puro.
