Imagine the hit COD Esports and Call of Duty in general takes when Scump, Crim and Clay decide to retire. I think we are literally witnessing the end of call of duty as a respected E sport and it sucks! Terrible games, no content, no effort from Activision. Warzone will be what Call of Duty solely becomes unless some miracle happens in those offices with the suits.

Activision is never going to prioritize comp over casual. They need to seriously create a separate development team and group of people to run PRO cod.

I feel like this goes unsaid by a lot of us most of the time so I figured I would just take the time to comment how much I love this podcast. You guys probably don’t even realize how funny and entertaining these are. I look forward to em every week

Honestly the most entertaining time to watch cod was when all teams would stream scrims. It was fun to hear the arguments and discussions. It was cool to hear trash talk and its good for a COD to have players you love to hate like Aches. Having all the players get along and be politically correct makes for bad entertainment, and since the game is so bad to watch the entertainment needs to carry it.

When are people going to acknowledge the problem is that call of duty has yearly releases? Other eSport titles have a lifetime longer than 1 year which gives the developers ample time to dial in all aspects of the game and add more content to continue to breath life into the game. Activision just releases a broken game, people buy it, everyone complains about the many issues the game has, a year passes, rinse and repeat.

Cod players earned my respect as far as having to play a horrid game, scrimming ONE GAME MODE, and being almost a remake of MW2020..... No 3rd game mode yet? Playing constant hardpoints. Hecz was surprised when Scump said that shit..Not a good look tbh... I love cod, I used to watch teams scrims... now Im really not, I know Im only 1 person but thats just my opinion... Cod League needs help... Great content as usual.

What a podcast. Good laughs all around. Personal new years resolution, and I agree that more people should. Putting myself out there creating content. Hearing it from all the guys at the table that the money is there, but the people fear just the initial steps of getting themselves out there is in fact daunting. Shit, even I'm afraid to do it. Activision took that 300+ million from teams and ran. Theses teams with that fees and salaries will never make that money back. That's why it took so long to get the (boston) team. Most organizations interested ran the numbers and saw it was possible. The teams involved now are just sticking around hoping to break even.

I agree that pros shouldn’t have to make content is they don’t want . Competitive COD has been around for over a decade. How long is the building going take?

The reality is teams invested MILLIONS to be a part of this league that they were basically forced to be a part of and are getting NO SUPPORT. We gotta stop blaming the players for their “lack of content” and start blaming the people who really ruined comp cod. Streaming scrims is not going to grow cod. Good, competitive games will and Vanguard is far from that.

Hopefully Simp is watching this. Shotzzy sure seems to understand the importance of content, now we need Simp on board. If Simp really wants fans to stop hating him, he needs to make more content so people get to know who he is outside of the game. For Example: At the end of BO4 a lot of our fans hated Octane. Even though he was on OpTic the year prior, he got a lot of hate from OpTic fans at the end of BO4. He started making content shortly after that when MW dropped, and now he's one of the most respected personalities in the scene. I suspect if Simp were to start making content so people see who he is as a person, I believe he'd get a lot less hate.

Pro NBA players and NFL players stream. Being a pro CoD player that's now making a lot of money playing shouldn't be allowed as an excuse to not stream.

I'm in the minority but gunplay seems best in Vanguard just bad maps, riddled with bugs and crappy spawns.

I remember back playing black ops 1 and being ranked on the multiplayer top 1000. Then mw3 the same got a moab got bored of mw3 went back to black ops. I care more about the win than the killing. But in vanguard it's more about the killing than the winning.

The problem with the "everybody should be making content and building a brand" argument is that they'll all be competing for the same sets of eyeballs. I think there's only room for a handful of people to be really successful on the content side of things in cod comp space. I think the onus is on the devs and Activision to start giving us an acceptable product that people can get excited about again.

The pros now are making more on their salaries every year than I do and I build and remodel houses for a living. Then I go home and go as hard as I can with a wife and children and occasionally upload my best gameplays for absolutely nothing. I respect the hell out of the pros but fuck man. If I had the opportunity that they have now… I’d be taking FULL advantage of it. I wouldn’t be taking ANYTHING for granted because that shit could be gone in the blink of an eye man. Some of these guys don’t have anything to fall back on after cod.

Activision acts like they don't even want COD to be an eSport. They 100% have the pull to make dev studios push a league play system and make them consult pro players before developing. It ain't that hard for them.

I think what a lot of pros want to say but are afraid to say is that you can't make a game that's catering to new players and leveling playing fields all over the place and then expect competitive play to take off and explode. By leveling the playing field you are trying to ensure that all players can do the same things and you are making it easy to replicate highlight reels. This increases the supply of exciting content but doesn't increase the demand for it and can actually lower the demand for it since it's so readily available now. When they leave it up to these players to increase the demand but then place them in an environment like Vanguard, it's a nearly-impossible task because as a viewer, we can now experience those types of plays by simply logging on instead of watching them. You can't have both unless you create an environment that caters to both and this game doesn't. It only caters to increasing supply. I love the game just like I love the franchise but this is not the game for creating interest in professional competitive play.

Call of duty competitive over man this been clear for years now. They need to make just one game for pro players but we know that's not gonna happen. Also the worst thing that happened to cod was franchising the teams. I know they getting more money now but what made cod competitive great was seeing unknown teams come in and destroy.

Imagine in any other industry paying 25mil to enter something and it be run so bad. Cod is no longer about the game the pros or the everyday players it's all about profit margins. Sad to see from such an iconic game franchise

MOVE THE LEAGUE TO A GAME THAT POPS RN. A SUSTAINABLE LEAGUE. Make all the teams pull out via persuasion and evidence. Move on. The players will make the game pop due to headlines and personalities. The fans follow the players, not the game.

Unfortunately, they're paying attention to their share-holders than the community of gamers. However, it's not just Act. its every big gaming industry (except Riot games for now). We have no option except for GBS or UMGs and thats just a hassle to actually have people on at the same time to play and wait 30 mins between matches. The casual competitive player is core for COD to succeed, its what built this whole thing. We are delegated to simply watching pros play, but without being able to actually play its just not as enjoyable to watch.

As a non warzone player, I stopped playing after MW2019 since playing since the original Call of Duty. Game has been doing nothing but declining, it just isn't fun anymore. As stated, this crap has been preached for a long time and nothing has changed and it won't. Call of Duty will be a distant memory soon if nothing changes.
