I am totally happy with the fact that you have reacted to this beautiful battle, it means a lot to me not only that you liked my rounds but that you have remembered our battle. To me is so crazy because you are my favorite beatboxer. Thanks a lot Dan ♥️
Your 2nd round was so good I don't even have words to describe how well your special sounds and bass mix. I'm not a beatboxer so Obviously my opinion sucks but you can make it far in the scene.
It was so close! Big up to Inferno and Rafly 🔥 and yep! The ACE system is as Bow described it. There's a video on our channel where Madox explains the system, judging criteria and why we're testing it out :)
Wow that's a bad system. I get that the current system isn't perfect, but there's so many reasons that the ACE system doesn't work. For example, because it's not anonymous, there's a good chance the judges will try to be as kind as possible when judging so that they don't get hate. Also, having the max amount of points be 3 leaves very little room for nuanced judging, which would be especially noticeable the more beatboxers there are. Also, having each judge only judge 1 category is insane. What if I'm judging a beatboxer do a style that I don't like and I'm judging 'arrangement'? I don't like the way the whole style/genre is often arranged, so there's a chance I judge based on that and not how well it was actually arranged. There's a reason judges have multiple categories each. And that's because a lot of this stuff is subjective, so if one judge's bias leaks into their judging of (for example) complexity a bit, it doesn't matter because other judges are also judging that category.
@@jenxao1737 The ACE system is definitely not perfect, agreed! The reason categories are split is because if you were to judge a live battle using the conventional system, you would need to recall and consider all aspects of the battlers rounds to come to a decision. This is difficult to do objectively because judges have to make decisions based on hearing the battle rounds only once. As humans we have a limited memory capacity and often, what we like will stand out to us, making it easier for us to remember. We can only judge what we remember, and this is why in live battles, you can often predict which judge will vote for which participant based on the judge's tastes. With the ACE system, the judges can pay more attention to certain details of the battle round based on the category they judge. This however, doesn't mean they will recall everything perfectly either. We're all humans, have our own preferences and are limited by our knowledge and expertise. The ACE system isn't perfect but it was an attempt to minimize some of the weaknesses in the conventional judging system. A judge's bias can either be greatly amplified or minimized with this split in categories, which can be either a strength and weakness based on the judges. The 3 point max definitely makes it hard for nuance. The judges were talked to after the battles and they agreed too :) While no system will be perfect, we can explore different ways to minimize the weaknesses in each system. That's why ACE was tried out :) now the flaws in it are more apparent and we can work on improving the concept/exploring new ones At the end of the day, our efforts to innovate and improve will be marked with mistakes, but unless we as a community experiment and explore new ideas, our growth will be stunted :D
Yeah the A.C.E judging system is a little different than the usual and you can see some of the close battles it helps decide on. But to answer your question, each judge judges one category and only that category and when they judge, they can give 1 - 3 points depending on the performance. So when each judge has voted, they just add each of the points from each category together, and the person with the most points is the winner. The system was created by Madox in exchange for a mort sort of binary system of judging.

Hey dlow your my number 1 favorite beatboxer and I think it would be amazing to see you on Britain’s got talent because I know you would get a golden buzzer much love❤️ from the UK
Idk if youll see this but i really want a full version of "a little bit of luck" cause it sounded so sick on that guess the beatboxer ep. Also love your vids and beatbox keep it up
It's just absolutely amazing that as one of the greatest [Arguably THE greatest] beat boxers of all time, that you're so supportive and can be surprised by fellow beatboxers and the sounds they put out. God bless you brother. Live your content 🙏🏻💙
Hey dlow i have seen that battle inferno vs you, and you were insane as always, also some of beats you used in kickback battles i already heard them from that battle, anyways great reaction have a nice day!
Would be great seeing you react to Antilt vs Max in the IT '21 as that was a super high quality battle all around, and would love to hear your thoughts on the outcome :)
Hey Dan, just a quick idea: I think if you did these reactions on stream it would be beneficial for your streaming career and RU-vid as you get content for both platforms, something to consider maybe :)
He is pretty big on the original videos getting the necessary views and attention. A livestream isn't something people would just leave to go check out the video. Not saying that's his ideology, ofc :p
