I'm super late discovering SB19, they got me at GENTO. So after learning that the song i've been so irritated with turned out to be a heartfelt homage and love for parents and not some syrupy love song, and bawling my eyes out until i fell asleep, i searched and watched all the RVs, finding comfort in them, as i feel i have failed in giving back to my oarents all their sacrifices and love and care, i wish i had done more. They've passed away long time ago, more than 10yrs ago... But i still long for them and miss them so much... I find the RVs therapeutic, finding some sort of a community with the reactors and commenters... Thank you for sharing your RV. 💘

What sets this reaction video apart among others is that this one is so raw and full of emotions. I love how NJoe showed his vulnerable side in this reaction video. Kinda relates to his story of his mother too.

For me, Josh's Part hits different, because we all knew that Josh didn't get a chance to meet his father since he was born 😔

I can't imagine Josh and Ken singing their parts live, growing up without their dads by their sides. Not even a memory to reminisce for Josh as he never met his dad. He had to fight for his life on his own. While Ken's grandma who stood as his parent, just recently passed away and he was not able to see her for the last time before she died. 🥺 But they are strong to take on the song 😭

the song really hits me... in my heart... i feel like im going to cry everytime coz the song makes me wish my papa is still here. I never got the chance to provide for him after all the hardwork and sacrifices he did. T___T i miss my papa

MaPa = Mama and Papa (Parents) | Mapa = Map (English) Our Map is our MaPa in this Life journey. | Both used and present on this song. This is a masterpiece written by Pablo in collaboration with the rest of SB19. This is a love letter to our parents. For some if not most, we barely tell our parents how we feel inside. This masterpiece will help us do another move to tell them how much we value and love them. In the song, “we will never get lost because we have the Mapa (Map)”. The map represent our parents. The things they taught us, the sacrifices, the advice they give and hardships. We will never get lost so long as we have the Map (Map). In the Filipino culture, we children have great regard to our parents / elderly. Most of us we would want to give back. Times wherein we just want our parents to stay still and its time for us (children) to do the rest. We want them to rest from the days and time they give and sacrifices for us. This song hits the hardest if we have those regrets if not being able to give back and let them rest from those tiring days they spent for us. Regrets prolly due to some unforeseen events. Event where they can no longer hear our “thank you” and gratefulness towards them. Regrets prolly because we don’t have the capability yet of returning the favor (though they never ask for it). Regrets prolly because we are far from them and this pandemic is hindering us of being with them or for any reason. Normally our parents (MaPa) would not share how hard life is, they would not tell us how tight things are. They would always keep inside them the struggles they are facing and normally they will always show their happy face for us not to worry. First part of the song, Justin talks about how our parents (MaPa) prioritize us in all aspects. In the Filipino culture, remember the day when you as a kid cries asking for a balloon and our parent would graciously get some coins and buy one for you. That moment we can only see the our happiness for getting what we simply want, but we cannot see their smile because we are happy with a simple thing. Josh’s part where he heed the memories and advise his (a) father gave him. That even though they are not together he promised of keeping them. Remember a milestone in our lives, our first step as a baby? Those gently hands guiding not just our ways but most making sure that if we fall, they are there willing to Catch and pick us up and encourage us to try again. For Single parents out there, you both the Ma and Pa. you alone is the Mapa. For those OFW parents (MaPa) doing the great sacrifices for their Kids, Salute! Those OFW Kids making every effort to provide and give back their MaPa’s, Salute. Watching this masterpiece brings me home every time. Let’s not wait for the time where we regret.. call them now and let them know how much we love and treasure them. Each one of us has a story to tell with regard to our MaPa and Mapa. I wanna hear em. It is more emotional to have josh and ken sing the PAPA part... both of them doesn't have their father with them growing up...

It melodically sound sad but the song itself is a tribute for our parents. And a constant reminder that we must convey our feelings with our MAPA's as long as they are alive.

“Lataratara” is what mothers sing kapag hinihili nila ang mga bata sa duyan to sleep. It’s so clever of Pablo to add such a simple syllables that usually don’t mean anything but brings a soothing feel to the song. Such nostalgia

Here's my theory to the word "Lataratara", if you sing it continuously it can sound "Literatura" or Literature in English, and from its root word LETTER. This song is indeed a LETTER from a Child to their Parents. 😊😉

Sa palagay ko yung lataratara is a humming para sa parents mo. Yun bang parang kino-comfort mo sila٫yung unang latara ni Pablo ay parang humming sa atin ng mga parents natin nunh maliit pa tayo but the chorus ay part ng anak para sa parents. Opinion ko lang nman heheh.

It turns out Lataratara is a very old Spanish lullaby - LaTierra Tierra. Like more than 300 years old. I watched a Spanish make a reaction and they did not connect it to that.
