Just wanted to say The Sims 2 did have Move Objects On too, once you did Boolprop TestingCheatsenabled True of course! it was The Sims 4 who didn't have it in base game, they had to add it in later, like with Toddlers, Swimming Pools, swing sets, though they put that in Seasons, like Swing Sets had so much to do with Seasons or weather, lol! But that's alright, I sometimes forget what TS2 and TS3 had and didn't have too, since it's been a long time since I could play them! This pass Christmas I even bought myself a new gaming laptop with more room on the hard drive and ram and even better graphics, and I'm still paying it off, all so I could play TS2 and TS3 while still having TS4 in, but then because EA got rid of Origin and made us switch to the EA app, I can't play either one, I can install The Sims 3, but it won't play, it just goes back to the app, but The Sims 2 I can't even install it, for one they changed the name from The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection to Double Deluxe, then tells us we have to download through our browsers, but what we get is The Sims 2 Store instead! I went to EA help and Answer HQ and told what was going on, and they both answered, but neither actually helped, instead they just said the exact same thing to me, even telling me to leave a complaint on Answer HQ or EA Help, which is of course supposed to be why they emailed me or Messaged me ( because I contacted EA Help on Twitter, 3 times, and 3 times they told me the exact same thing! Okay sorry for the rant!

One thing I miss the most about Sims 2 is how their personalities ACTUALLY affected how they behave. By the way I love your hair color. That is what drew me to your channel 😄

Same with Sims 3, taits meant something and they still had emotion but it didn't override traits like Sims 4 does.

I did this! But only once because it was kind of a pain. The scale of the map was different between TS2 and SC4, so it took some trial and error to get the map sized how you wanted for lot placement. Some people did amazing things with it!

The best part of sims 2 which isnt in any of the other sims game is the active animations. Like in sims 3 especially they always struggle with positioning themselves before doing any interaction sliding on the floor etc. In sims 2 they move into animation so if you press hug a lot of times they will walk into a hug if that makes sense

For ppl scared to get back into sims 2 there are codes to make rotate 45 degrees and free move things. However free moving things only do it for decorations since most items wont work and 45 degrees a lot of things still work but not all I know sofas and chairs still work so you can do that on those.

I had a Sim in the Sims 2 who cheated on his wife and she divorced him but when his ex-mother in law was around she would slap the crap out of him, and he would cry, and I would laugh my ass off. Great memories. Loved this video, Satch.

If you got Mansion and Garden Stuff (the last EP/SP), they did introduce quarter tile placement. You had to type in a cheat and then CTRL+F to activate the cheat, but it made building a lot better. It had move objects on as well!

Thing is, my computer was really old when the Sims 2 came out, so I never knew that there were cutscenes until I upgraded! I was so surprised when I saw that woohoo scene! 🤣

By the last pack of TS2 I guess quarter tile and alt placement were introduced to the game. Works perfectly except for rugs that glitch if they're not on the grid and placing the dining chairs so they snap to the table

You can also position things off the grid with move objects on; and you can set aliases for the cheats so that you don't have to write long ones again and again.

The number one part I miss from the sims 2 is having huge custom neighborhoods where I had tons of room for big families to grow up, move out, and have their own families. I had enough room to make stores, cemeteries, car lots, parks, all the lots. Then I could easily switch between households without time progressing. I get the appeal of everyone living and not wanting to manually age up everyone but I liked doing that lol. A lot of micro managing but I liked it

Lol what are you talking about ? In the Sims 2 there has always been "moveobjects on/off", alongside "boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false/true" and "boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation true/false" ! I use them all the time in my Sims 2 builds ;)

very true. and just like the sims 3, you can build curved bridges in the sims 2 too. People say that the sims 4 build/buy mode is the best build/buy mode, but I don't think so. it's easier to build because you can just drag things around, but I don't think it's the best.

The sims 2 was my first sims game and I was about 8 when I asked my parents to buy it for me. I remember being terrified of the couple kissing on the cover wondering if they were going to wonder what I could actually do in the game lol

My Sims in the original game decided to autonomously “Play” in the lovebed and my Mum walked in and told me I had to delete it and refused to buy me the hot date pack cause she thought it’d be all about woohoo! She almost didn’t let me buy the Sims 2. 😂 She’d be shocked nowadays considering the Sims gameplay was actually quite PG.

Yes, SimCity 4 lets you make maps for The Sims 2! And if you have The Sims 1, you can import your Sims into SimCity 4 to use them in that game! It’s kinda fun seeing it be compatible with two Sims games!

I watched the woohoo cutscene as a kid and was too clueless as to what any on it meant to feel awkward about it. I just though stuff like "Oooo! Fireworks!" Then I didn't realize what the fireworks bursting out of the spasming plumbob was supposed to be a reference to until earlier this month when watching a Sims 2 stream VOD. I'm an adult, by the way. I probably should have noticed sooner. Through to be fair, I've never had any interest in triggering any IRL cutscenes. Pee-ew!

Move object on was in The Sims 2, as well as quarter tiles and even placing items out of the grid entirely. Maybe you just didn't know the cheats lol

Move objects was definitely in TS2 it just didn't help with quarter tiles. There's a separate cheat for snapping objects off the grid system and placing them where ever. Please note that some items may not work as intendet if placed off the grid.

TS2 at least did have move objects thank god. Did yall remember TS1 build and buy? Nothing ever gets centered to anything, and it didn't seem to bother me. Now I have a stroke coming back to play it.

I remember when me and my sister played the Playstation game of The Sims and she randomly discovered babies lol, she was making her Sims kiss a lot and then suddenly the game asked "Should we have a baby?" lol...she came and got me to show me and we both laughed, she clicked yes and then the explosion of flowers happened with the baby's gender and you had to name it, then of course after a few days it aged up to a child. XD

Yeah you're right, you could use Sims 4 to make different road layouts for custom maps. I don't think you could place buildings or decor there, I can't remember, but thats where you would do the road and terrain anyway

I never played sims 2 on the computer, so idk about the world tool. But I was a slag for the sims 3 create a world tool. It was a glitchy mess but I used it every week lmao

Yes! If you had Sim City (I can't remember which one) you could export that world into the Sims 2 and make it a neighbourhood!!

What are you talking about? There was definitely moveobjects on lol the issue is that it was hard to build and you couldn't go back in any way without redoing it all. Super hard to navigate and do everything u wanna do without knowing all the cheats just not intuitive at all but there's a lot you could do as long as you knew how yk with cheats.

You could make the actual world in SimCity2000. Place streets, mountains, trees, water and then use the file in The Sims 2. I still have some of them saved on my computer.

The fact the fatness basically didn't exist made the fact that sims could be turned off by it extra problematic. Like, imagine finding someone who you really like, then taking them home to "trigger a cutscene," but then taking off your shirt reveals a couple of fat roles next to your epic abs. And then they dump you because they are turned off by a thing that you require to live! What a jerk! It's a good thing that I'm aroace so I'll never have to deal with crap like that.

This makes me so sad that I only got to play the sims 2 on PS2 growing up and not PC! The game was soooooo different on PS2! I also played the sims 3 in console (but Nintendo wii). The games were so different which makes the sims 4 seem so much better, but I think I would 100% agree that the older games were better if I played them on PC. However, I will say regardless of PC or console I 100% miss how cheeky the sims was back in the day! It's so "PC" now that nothing dramatic happens anymore unless you try to make it happen.

I don't understand what you mean by "the Sims 4 snowflake generation". I don't play the Sims 4, but I am a snowflake (and a beautiful one at that) so I can say that it's extremely obvious that it's actually parents, especially christian ones, who are way more sensitive about this type of stuff than people my age. It seems as though the older you are, and the more obsessed with ancient fictional characters you are, the more likely you are to piss and cry on some sort of christian podcast about young people happily living their own lives.

I was far more engaged in my Sims lives in 1/2/3. I felt actual guilt if they were unhappy or uncomfortable, I worked so hard to make their lives better! Sims 4, I’m just frustrated that he’s always angry when his wishes aren’t being fulfilled. The ungrateful git.

So you just want Sims not to age and die? Why not just go back and play TS1 then - they couldn’t age in that game and it was boring once you’d achieved everything you wanted for them. Having Grim come along to collect your Sim when their time is up adds something bittersweet to the game. I don’t know what’s silly about realism.

They weren't saying no death, they just didn't want the Grim Reaper to show up. Since you mentioned realism, that's actually more realistic lol. Personally I wouldn't want him gone from the Sims because he is such a classic character, but I wouldn't mind if Paralives did something different and less "supernatural", like an ambulance or hearse showing up instead
