Reacting to STRAY KIDS "S-CLASS" 2023 VMAs and original MV 

yes it’s real lights in the music video, the fire pillars and the fire cracker set off behind them are also real!!! when they filmed the music video everyone in seoul could see it and ppl figured out it was stray kids and everyone was like wow this music video is gonna be huge. that was in march and it came out in june… definitely didn’t disappoint!

One thing to know about Skz is they remix any song they perform at an awards show. And if they perform that song at multiple award shows each show will have a different remix. They are so insane! They make sure every stage they show at these shows is unique.

The VMA performance was a special remix of this song. Already being familiar with S-Class before, I really loved the extra sounds and choreography they added to the VMA performance. I didn’t know they could make this song even better than before but the VMAs did for me! I’m so proud of them, for how far they have come. To see how Bang Chan struggled through 7 years of training from the age of 13 never sure if he’d debut, to see how he chose his group and helped nurture them, to see them work together as a team as they struggled for people to like their unique style for several years before their break though with Gods Menu and now to see them win K-pop group of the year at the 2023 VMSAs which even seemed to surprise them, I”m so proud of them. The lights and fireworks were real, you can see it behind the scenes, it was incredible and they said it was their most budgeted video 🔥

They had a budget over three million Dollar to make the Video. The highest budget in K-Pop history. They had five million Preorders before the Album was out.

they are the first Kpop group ever to record on the Han river :) The VMAs was their first win and performance there Bangchan always changes up something when doing an award show always so good one of my favs is the Christmas performance of Thunderous

The S-Class MV was directed by Bang Jaeyeob, The best MV-Director in K-pop rn or some might say overall. His transitions are otherworldly. The S-Class MV is probably the most expensive MW in K-Pop rn.

They filmed on a giant barge in the middle of the Han River 😅😅😅 we saw the news footage. 😂❤ I hear the budget on this one was Massive ❤😊

Bang Chan remixes their songs for awards shows so this was remixed for the VMAs. They also did alter the choreo throughout the song and the dance break was almost completely new it appeared to me.

Now you know why they won. 😊 and yes, the dance break was different, they remixed the song for the performance added orchestral elements and such to make it more epic, and I saw someone say the rap was different as well, but I usually pay more attention to vocals, so grain of salt. Oh, and they were touring/performing in Japan as of 2 days before the VMAs, when they had time to remix, re-choreograph, etc…no idea. These guys don’t sleep, I swear.

Congrats to the kids for the win!! The remix they performed was so good 😭most SKZ mvs are shot with very little effects/green screen. Before s-class was released kstays saw them filming on the Han river with all those lights. If you're interested (tho i know you have a lot to get through as it is) the mvs often have behind the scenes videos and they are always super cool and entertaining, plus you'll get a good view of the guys' personalities too

Skz produce remixed versions of their songs for all their award show performances, mainly MAMA. I love this version just as much as the original, and I agree that it sounds like an epic version of the song. I think they added a lot of strings or synths in the back to fill up the verses, and then there's the really obvious piano during the bridge. The substitution of those heavy beat drops at the start were my favourite changes though. If you haven't seen it yet, Victory song MAMA version is immaculate. Thanks for reacting!!

I am glad you liked the performance! This is their breakout era, meaning they have finally been recognized as... well S-class artists, and STAYs are so pumped! I don't think anyone, STAYs or Stray Kids, thought this would ever be possible with how much people have tried to put out Stray Kid's fire. This really shut up the haters that say no one knows them and if they did they wouldn't care. I have been so excited and hope Stray Kids are able to be selfish enough for once to really enjoy what this means for them! Also, STAYs make sure you teach our principles to the new wave of baby STAYs because I would rather not have to do anymore damage control because people decide to come in and start drama. I am so proud of Them. Their Hard work coupled with the production team are truly S-class the best of best class. Seeing how far they have come and have remained humble and dedicated to us STAYs. I am really overwhelmed with Excitement 🎉.

Performances generally are a change up to their originals for SKZ...not sure if you've seen it yet but one of my favs is the 2022 MAMMA performance of venom & maniac! Even at their concerts they make change ups here and there. Thunderous/Gods menu/ Domino at their Maniac tour with an actual band was so good! I'm yet to hear a bad change up by them for a live

Stray Kids is known for remixing their songs for award show performances. Whether it is them who actually arranged it or not I'm sure they had a take on it knowing 3racha. The VMA performance is so well done it showcased their color and identity so well it also showed us how proud they are of their culture as well. Some people were saying that S-class is not a great choice of song to perform in an international award show cause it sounds strange but I totally disagree!!! This was the best choice the uniqueness showed everyone what Stray Kids are capable of and their unique sound. I love that they stick to their roots. Also if you watched the making of the video the only CGI is the helicopter, octopus and the car exploding others were added effects like the mirror breaking but other than that those places were all real and they made the sets for it even the fire blowing out were all real. Enjoy your reactions to them. Really do, your 'wow, wow, wow' at the end of the M/V is pretty much what has happened to other reactors all over the world. Chani, is a genus when creating their beats. Both the VMA and S-Class M/V have his stamp on them. All of the Stray Kids are amazingly talented in song creation and in their live performances. note: Chani works his behind off reworking their music for awards ceremonies (you'll often see him at his laptop in the background of their SKZ code and in behind the scenes of M/V or awards shows). This is one of many wonderful examples of their combined talents along with JYP's Division 1. They blow us away everytime! 😎

The piano, violin, some low drop(?) like dark beats, and even that replay glitch during Changbin's hiphop section were beautiful renditions for the VMA. Plus some stunts and support from other dancers, too. With Stray Kids, they really make sure they're offering something more to their award show stages ❤

SKZ always remix their songs for special accations like that. You wouldn't believe how many Thunderous Remixes for example are there, that only exist for one performance. They could fill a whole album with them :D

All the effects in the music video are all real except obv the squid and like other small things like the particles at the end and the helicopter. I would love to see you react to the S-Class MV making! The VMA version was a remix so you should of reacted to the MV first. It is their biggest budget for MV up to date. The funny thing is, the part where there are at the middle of seoul city with all the lightings etc, people around there were like very curious of what happening on the night with all the lightings, noises, etc. Haha. The VMA performance was definitely a special mix, and if they are to perform S-CLASS at another award show, be assured you will hear another new and special mix - they are known for always showcasing a different reinterpretation of the track! Additionally, Stray Kids did film on the Han River; JYP himself had to take a boat out to visit the boys while filming in the middle of it! The budget was out of this world and this song deserved such a great music video to pair up with it. S-CLASS will always give me chills for just how epic it is in all facets! 9:26 Yes they did put spotlights in the whole harbour. This was filmed probably a month before the music video was released and Korean stays on Twitter filmed the river with all the lights and told us that Stray Kids was filming for a future comeback lol.

This one was amazing! I watched the video with the VMA after the end of the show, I had a night, and in the morning I just cried with happiness and pride for the guys. Our special geniuses! They deserve the whole world. The new remix is unrealistically cool, they always work so hard to show the best performances. I'm really soo proud of them! S class one of my favorite song, and I were really happy to see and experience this comeback in real time. Another great reaction, it was great that you watched the MV afterwards. The budget for this MV was massive, the MV making videos are great to watch too (there are two, one following skz and one explaining the filming process), the director is a genius, they had to film for 5 days which is a lot more than MV filming usually takes. There are making of the mv clips on their YT channel if you like to check out the process of making the mv... it's so cool and hilariously funny 😂 But, in my opinion, Stray Kids live is on another level... all of their performances are epic. Especially on award shows like MAMA. To be honest the s-class album is an insane masterpiece... my absolute favourite song of this album is hall of fame... I absolutely love the whistle callback in that pause before the ending. I would love to know more about how long they did to do the remix and who worked on it with 3RACHA, and how long they had with those terrific backup dancers. I'm a sucker for behind the scenes.... Someone probably mentioned it below but there is a 'making of' video available. One thing I love that they did differently was having the S-tier high fashion costuming for the performance. That was perfect for an awards show message. My only tiny regret is felix put his head down during that triple punch because he looks so fierce in the M/V :) Though that would probably be the only photo anyone used so its probably for the best. 😂

You would be surprised how little special effects were actually used. Watching the making of the music video you see that the fireworks, lighting, red lights, car suspended, and etc were all done on set.

You should have watch their mv making film of sclass and 5 star album intro they always do that every release of their album that has a part 1-3. P1 is their intro like interview and part 2-3 is the dance practice and recording of sclass + the stayweek recording after or before you finish the album songs. 😊❤ if you want the link I can give you so that it is easy for you to find it😊. Been a fan since Hellevator dropped. The joy of watching and hearing Stray Kids adapted their own songs for award show season every year is alway the highlight of my life. They wrote and arranged the songs so they had the liberty to change around. Chan is always working because he’s always looking to make new songs and modified released songs 😂

Stray kids the best group ever

If I had to estimate after watching the making of the S-Class video, I'd have to say at least 95% was real and 5% was CGI green screen. One thing I love about StrayKids is they do as much as feasibly possible in real time with real sets and minimal CGI. Watching the makings of their videos is like being on the set of a high quality movie. I think you would love watching the behind the scenes of their videos.

Lolol the lights on the boat and near the city r real. Bc when they first filmed on the boat, Koreans posted online they were curious what the lights were for. No offense to the VMA's but they are not on KPop standards as far as quality. I'm so proud of our boys. ❤ The effects in this with editing is crazy. The Helicopter, Kraken, the car, and the floating object are edited CGI everything else is real. Interesting is when the car goes backwards people miss 14:30 Hyunjin throwing a grappling hook and pulling the camera shot towards him to transition to the next scene. Amazing.
