pedro pascal acts so beautifully. there is just something about his delivery that is so special. and i just love getting to see joel slowly care for ellie almost like his own child. also, bella ramsey is absolutely killing it as ellie. that argument between them and her crying at the end got me tearing up every time i watch a reaction to it.

23:57 hogs would be one of the easiest animals to get. Pigs escape containment all the time and pretty much instantly revert back to being wild boars again. They're an invasive species in whatever environment they're let loose in because they can eat pretty much anything and reproduce very quickly. In an apocalypse, wild boars would take over and be a very common sight. You can hunt them all day, then capture some and start a pig farm. In fact, I'm surprised that wasn't one of the first things they did.

In my opinion, that "something" is his humanity. His humanity died with Sarah. Since Sarah's death, Joel's life has been nothing more that enduring and surviving, which last week's episode was a nod to. Ellie, being the person that she is, and her being the age Sarah was when she died 20 years ago, Joel can't help but see his daughter in Ellie--Ellie being smart and witty isn't helping much because Sarah was the same way too. Joel put up barriers, but Ellie's personality is a wrecking ball and she's cracked that hard outer shell around Joel's heart and his starting to crumble. Like all the characters along the way that we've met, Joel is starting to feel afraid again...because he has something to lose again.

this episode makes more sense knowing the second game as well. i noticed certain parts the reactions werent exactly how i seen others react and assuming the two that played only played the first. super hoping for a 3rd game because im addicted to the story

I don’t know if anyone has already pointed this out but Maria didn’t blow a dog whistle to save Joel and Ellie, she’d have no way of knowing Ellie had been bitten or was immune. The ringing noise you hear is Joel’s panic taking over, it’s like he can’t hear sound regularly, in his panic it’s all become muffled. My theory is that the dog doesn’t necessarily smell the infection but maybe reacts to aggression shown by the infected or like the twitching motions they make and since Ellie posed no threat and was very submissive, the dog didn’t attack.

You guys definitely should do Game of Thrones. I’m joining now in hopes that it happens.

I did think the show was doing great but now I feel like the moments where there absolutely should of been action, they just don’t deliver on it. This episode felt too drama heavy with no room for excitement. They could of pulled off too and the scene would of felt just way more impactful too me if i felt that adrenaline rush go down hill. It just kinda felt like they didn’t have budget to do the specific scene i’m thinking of. They said they would keep the game stuff if it was worse or the same and this was disappointing that they thought that was better. Episode was pretty good except for that part. Raiders should of played a better role but it is what it is.
