In 2019, I wasn't too much of an MLB fan (though I played baseball). I looked at the standings one day and it was like the day before the playoffs started. My dad is from Virginia, so he kinda roots for the Nationals. I told him that the Nats made the playoffs. I watched them make their way through the playoffs, and they they swept the Cardinals in the NLCS. I knew the Nationals had never made the World Series before, but I thought they were the ONLY one. They won the World Series, and I search every team's World Series record. I saw the Mariners were "0-0". I honestly didn't know the Seattle Mariners existed before I saw that. So that's how I figured out the Mariners existed and how I figured out that there's STILL a team to never make the World Series.

I live in Seattle and was 4 when the Mariners had their 116win season. Trying to support this ball club is a futile effort which won't end well. Year after year after year after year after year it's painful as management wastes talent, trade prospects that thrive at other teams. We do this process where rebuild and then throw money at premier talent and still we can't do anything. At the start of this decade I have no expectations that the Mariners will be successful and if they are near a spot to reach the playoffs they will likely choke, optimism and hope is a dangerous trait for a Mariner fan to have. I have lived through and remember going to games during the bavasi zdurencik era. I saw Griffey hit his 630HR. Seeing Ichiro being traded to the Yankees was sacreligious, it was painful to watch the King Felix Hernandez succumb to injuries after years of pitching. The Mariners are a team that can't have nice things. At this rate I have stopped going to games and just know that if you have ANY expectations on the Mariners, you will be let down and disappointed many times. Thank God I'm a Sounder fan and know what winning actually feels like.

New appraoch with new GM four years ago who inherited the worst farm team in baseball and top-heavy contracts. Cleaning up the mess, now in our second year of rebuilding with the youngest team in baseball. Some fans want everyone fired and are champing at the bit. I am patient. This year is like open audtions. If they do develop a core that can compete, then they need to spend to get some aces in here. That's how it is sports fans.

I grew up going to Mariners games and cheering on Ichiro. Very disappointed when I got older and realize they suck. Well, ichiro was still awesome

Been a fan of the Mariners all my life (31 years). We aren't the greatest by any means, and we are a bit strange if you look into our history, and you may question why I'm so loyal to this club (I question it every season), but I'll always stick by the M's. Best example I think I can give you of what it's like supporting the M's, since you're from England... I'm also a Newcastle United supporter. Lol

@Justinn Zamora The son of the founder of Nintendo was in Seattle, and learned about how the team was looking to possibly move, and how upset the fans were. So we went to his dad and asked him to buy the team. At the time no foreign owners were in Major League Baseball. Nintendo bought the team simply as a nice gesture for the fans of Seattle. Unfortunately he never came to Seattle to see a game

Should just sell and / or dissolve the team at this point. The only team in the league to not make a World Series appearance and didn’t even have a winning season until 1991. Besides 1995 and especially 2001 they don’t have squat to show after that. They’ve had 45 years and have done nothing to sway my opinions of them in a positive direction
