I'm not a master of the RU-vid algorithm, but you are doing a disservice to yourself calling these "reactions" when you are able to deliver such in depth insights on everything that is going on.

That 7-9 is the coolest thing I've seen in any TAS. It was just jaw droppingly beautiful how smooth it was.

Frog suit is my second favourite power up after the goomba shoe. I wish there were more levels featuring both in the original games

Around 2000 or so I took my NES up to a cybercafe. I did the fast airship in world 8 with the frog suit and impressed my friends. This makes me want to try to go thru the whole game with the frog suit!

As a kid I used Game Genie to be perma frog wanting to win SMB3 as frog mario. Can confirm, you get stuck and give up quickly lol

Presumably, you could ACE a frog suit into World 1 with a couple of more minutes slapped on the run, pretty frivolous for a TAS, so I'd consider the hack to be a shortcut and not really cheating.

I remember having the Mario 3 Nintendo Power guide as a kid, so literally all of the things I've learned about SMB3 outside of that guide have come from watching your videos. I really wish I knew where it was. I know it's not in great shape, the spine is held together with packaging tape, so it's probably not really worth anything, but just to have it in my hands again would be amazing.

Nah, the worst powerup in Mario history is the cat suit. Mainly because it makes him say the cringiest "meow" since Front Mission: Left Alive. This is a pretty cool TAS though, glad Tompa made it even though it's not meant to actually be competitively fast. It's awesome to see what can be done with the frog suit. A "what if" challenge.

7:53 "Can we agree that the frog suit is literally the worst Mario powerup in Mario history?" I do not and will not ever agree with that. The frog suit at least looks cute and has some utility in that it helps you swim better. The Spring Mushroom from Mario Galaxy is worse in every way. Spring Mario is literally just Mario coiled up in a giant spring, the powerup is very unwieldy to control, and while it's supposed to be required, everything you're supposed to use it for can be done with base Mario.

The glitched animation state is for when Mario extends his arms while running, not for kicking shells.

I want to see someone mod in smm2 frog mario into smb3 (with the p-speed and turn speed differences of vanilla frog mario), and do the run with that.

Funny played SMB3 yesterday took te frogsuit and I think it was in world 7-6 had the frogsuit on totally forgot about the tiles where the bombs are walking.. could not get back up to get a koopa shell and could not go under it… had to wait like 270 seconds to die…

I would like to see a fastest TAS that includes the frogsuit where it can help.

it would actually be kinda neat to see a speedrun where you have to first get the powerup the first chance you can get it and then do the rest of the run without losing that powerup. it's dumb and kinda like doing a "larvetar only" challenge for pokemon silver but you just play through the game until get get larvetar where the only challenge left is to defeat Red.
