The fist time I ever wore my natural hair out, I was 12 years old, and I walked into a church and GROWN ADULDTS looked at me and just laughed the wordy part is, THE FRICKEN PASTOR LAGHED THE HARDEST. They told me I looked like I was electrocuted, that I needed a hair cut, And the worst thing about it, they said I was not aloud to serve at the alter with my hair out because it look “unprofessional” and it really made me feel bad, at this time, I was 12 years old, AND THESE WERE FUCKING ADULTS. From then on I decided that I was gonna wear my hair out every day to prove them wrong. It was the best decision I ever made.

I am a 3c-3b (I think, don't direct quote me on it though). I am what I call a lazy natural. I wear my hair stretched 60% of the time, straightened 20% of the time, and in it's natural state 20% of the time. My daughter has type 4 hair and she keeps comparing her hair to mine. I’m struggling sm with my hair. I’m a mixed girl whose skin is rlly white but being half Jamaican my hair obviously isn’t. It’s pretty curly ( I’d say 3B-4A it depends on what area and when ) but for most of my life my family ( white side I haven’t seen the black side in years ) has given me keratin treatments against my will and now in some areas it won’t curl back. I want to embrace my curls and wear my hair natural but 1. I get made fun of even for just wearing it up and 2. It’s damaged and not long enough. I also do competitive swimming which totally ruins any chances for growth or whatever. If anyone has tips lmk but great video.
