Fifa goes through this same cycle of hype, disappointment and anger every year.....it's like Déjàvu 😜

This is finally the moment where we have to stand up , over the years it all went downhill with rewards , SBC’s everything is being worse and worse , right now we need to stand up against these criminals

SBCs were an amazing introduction to the series but EA's eventual reliance on them as content has ruined the drive to play. They have become way too important in improving your club, are essentially the main reason want rewards from stuff, and have caused the game to move further and further away from gameplay. It is insane the amount of comments I see of players wanting 'Gold Cups' and online tournaments back, but EA have not even tried to repurpose them for the modern games. The reason the World Cup mode was so popular is because it was essentially barebones FIFA: no market, no SBCs, just you, your team, and gameplay. While moments fell flat, they have not even tried to make it a worthwhile mode to be playing, just gave up on it straight away and resorted back to these upgrade SBCs which have become the most vital mechanic to the progression of all players clubs that nothing else is worth putting time into.

Generally speaking EA seems not to understand the aspects of user retention and engagement. They want you to purchase the ultimate edition, tickle you for a time with shine promo packs and generally push you in a direction where investing money into the game is the only way to grind and the only opportunity to grow your team and compete

I just don’t get why you and Matt don’t address the GAMEPLAY. All you both go on about is the content. The content can be world class or trash, if the gameplay absolutely stinks it doesn’t matter! The game has been nerfed to death so now everybody just parks the bus, just like fifa 20, fifa 21, and Fifa 22! TALK ABOUT THAT INSTEAD! Say EA give out all the hype content you want, great! Go get your hero icon flashback Messi. But then what? You go into a game and play against yet another park the bus rat who defends all game then scores a gol from 2 passes on the counter. Special hero icon prime messi flashback card doesn’t matter then does he? Content released is a secondary issue to the main issue - HORRENDOUS GAMEPLAY

The serious problem is us. We are focusing on the daily 'nontent' instead of focusing on the gameplay mode, so different from rivals, wel etc etc with a lot of scripting and IA mistakes. So we try to find a comfortable zone with the sbc players but for what if the gameplay structure is mad and even without properly rewards considering all the passion put into this soccer game?! 🤔

That’s how the game felt last year I packed Mbappe untradable, did flashback Kante, bought Messi and Neymar in October for about 500k+ and it died once Black Friday hit. Same time as last year. If they don’t do anything new I’m quitting and going to COD. This is crazy for a billionaire company to be managing. Not even 2k is as bad. I returned to fifa 23 around April and by then all players were 20k. All the players now in November are 20k 😔 this shit is sad tbh

Did EA forget about the hero pack that some people got and profited from but the rest of us got jack shit? To my knowledge they NEVER said anything about it. I think it’s time we finally talk about the way EA have been doing things because it’s gotten out of hand how uncreative and really unfair they have been to casuals and grinders.

All these RU-vidr rant videos are literally the exact same. All trying to say what EA "should" do... It has nothing to do with what they "should do" it's all about money. If EA can do this for content for the WC (and this is the bare minimum) and still make millions of dollars doing pretty much nothing, then literally nothing will change. As soon as hard core FIFA players realise that they aren't the majority but the minority and that EA make far more money from casuals the easier it is to understand why they are doing what they're doing. You don't need to agree with it but at least acknowledge that it isn't about the players (it never really was) it's about the company releasing a game that they can make the MAXIMUM amount of profit from while doing as little as possible. That's it. Period.

The new chem system has made linking players terrible. Higuain for instance is incredible but to link him I practically need a full Argentina team or I need to use a load of terrible mls players. At least before I could have gone 451 out 2 Argentina players cam and thats it done.

As much as lack of sbcs are annoying, all I’ve wanted for the last 5 years is a tournament game mode like the gold cup back in the day. I don’t care if you only got a gold pack and 2k coins, it was relaxing to play it. I honestly don’t get why they won’t bother putting it back in.

I still can't get over the fact that there's not daily showdown SBC's and that world cup cards can't be used as fodder. Showdowns would give plenty of unusable players massive boosts and give us more player variety, and being able to submit world cup cards in SBC's would have been miles better than league SBC's as they're easier and cheaper to get

And on chemistry, totally agree. I've never felt so restricted in putting a team together. It's really hard to get 33 chem. Just gid rid of it, get rid of chem styles. Maybe boost stats based on games played instead. Play 50, 100, 150 games with a player and they get chem boosts.

It cannot be that difficult like just imagine the difference if they were releasing 2 or 3 SBC players a day (e.g. one flashback, two MOTMs from that matchday etc.) I feel like that's all it would take to keep people happy with the live daily content. Instead I feel like it's just shit boring players once in a while. I want enough players that it doesn't matter if I don't complete them all. I can choose to do Saka because I'm an England fan, someone from Saudi Arabia can do Al-Dawsari for his sick performance. ALL they'd have to do is make up a card with some good stats and put it up for a certain squad rating I literally can't understand how they're too lazy to do that.

Nep this is GOD tier content. Brilliantly informative, you and Matt raised similar but excellent comments and you also had good banter making me laugh at some reactions and mannerisms you used. Overall loved this and would like to see you react to things again

The biggest problem I find is I don't want to play div rivals anymore. I'm too scared to get to a division higher because if I do and get stuck there and the division is full of people better than me there is no way to get back out of it. Happened to me last year I got in a division better than I am. I had to play 8 div rivals games to get a single win and there was no way for me to get out of it.

I wonder what the numbers are for the amount of players that have done those foundation player objectives. I liked the look of Pukki and would've liked to use him but after a couple of games just gave up, I didn't want to use him enough to grind out all the objectives for him. I don't know why they don't utilise the season pass progression thing more, actually make these cards achievable naturally through playing whatever you want to play rather than just using it for tifos and badges.

Remember the days when reward day was exciting! You would countdown the minutes to the 6pm content. I don’t understand how they could get it so wrong 10 years ago they had real life results on the game you could see scores from around the world, you could play daily tournaments for rewards league SBC’s was a daily grind, they have taken away every way to grind the game now it’s dead RIP FIFA

The problem is that there’s no balanced of the cards. They’re are only a few usable cards now post patch and before almost every gold card was usable. Now only mbappe gold is usable, even champs rewards are straight fodder unless you pull a red mbappe or neymar. Now it’s just straight pace again that even player switching is horrendous because gameplay turned into a ping pong simulator that the game can’t even register the right player switch because of the speed of the game.

Fifas been ruined ever since they started bringing out crazy unrealistic promotions every week from launch.

At least give first owner players full chem no matter what.

And why is it always 6pm content why can’t they drop a sick man of the match card an hour after a match finishes eg Bellingham, Ochoa

I haven’t watched this video yet, i’m typing this comment as the intro is starting, but Nep you’re probably the most down to earth, honest youtuber that plays fifa. You see both sides but quite honestly, for the money people put into the game, and how repetitive and dry it is, most of us purely buy fifa is because we have no other alternative. PES isn’t what it used to be, and FIFA you quite honestly buy it and expect a unrewarding, pointless game that you can play for 20 minutes and feel like you haven’t made any progress. Sadly there’s too many that will simply “put up” with this and that just makes all who want to act and make a change in the game unable to do anything. Sadly FIFA, or any game made by EA related to football, will always be the same and there’s nothing we can do about it.

In call of duty you can. Pick who you think will win certain games and if you get a certain number right you get rewards. Call of duty has better World Cup content than FIFA 23

What is the point in the World Cup live cards? I did Ramsey and started the wales swaps card. I played a couple of games and then went to check how many games I needed to still win and was on 0 because Ramsey who is a World Cup card doesn’t count towards the 6 players????? Why? No one has mentioned this.

EA being terrible during such a potentially amazing period for a football game doesn't make me want to buy there next game, it makes me think I'm glad they are losing the brand

in the reveal trailer, when they talked about moments, they said that some would recreate goals, the moments section should be filled with winning goals from the wc games. small things like this would make a big difference, but they seem to not even want to do the small things

Even call of duty which is a shooting game is putting in more effort to the World Cup, added a new game mode, predict results and get rewards and adding players as characters to the game. 0 effort made by FIFA and they couldn’t even add a new game mode

FIFA should take notes from MLB the show "Parallel" system. Your card gains overall the more xp you earn from using that individual card item. Gives incentive to grind out certain players, even bronze cards.

I honestly see the transition from Fifa into Ea Sports FC as a good time to leave the franchise, I'm fed up with poor gameplay and the content and I used to think next year will be better and it never is! I brought Elden Ring earlier in the year and I have enjoyed it so much its just so refreshing to enjoy gaming again and I'd recommend it!

I have to buy fifa points this Friday just to complete the last 89 keane sbc squad. An SBC that should have lasted for at least 2 weeks. Almost impossible to do without putting money into the game or unless u have fodder already

I watched the entire video but you certainly nailed it for me in the last minute... I played this game for about 2 weeks at launch and haven't stepped back to it since. I saw the requirements for the milestones dutch players and decided ultimately that it was not worth my time and that I'd rather not play the game at all than grind for cards that would be pretty much useless a month later. The carrot on the end of the stick for Fifa has been getting progressively smaller with each title they release and I guess I'm just now at the point where I'm at peace with saying it's not the game for me anymore. It's sad though and I hope future releases (regardless of which developer puts them out) get better for those that still have the desire to keep playing.

I just opened my ultimate pack from 200 squad battles and got 1x86 and everything else was 82 max, guess I’m not competing an SBC out of this packs fodder 😪

I've played two games of FIFA since the new season update came out it's that bad I've lost all hope in FIFA the SBCs are crap too much for one player even look at the new Messi card thats out it's got 4 segments to it for a medium/medium player it's a joke

Gameplay is more fun this year for me and I no longer need slow 88 rated players to put into SBCs to be happy. Thank heavens.

Heres an idea that EA will never do, but why not do what they do in COD, start players at 1 ovr or Level 1, stats can still be representative to the player. But as you play with that player, complete objectives and earn xp, you level them up, endlessly. maybe even getting to choose which stats to upgrade, to me that would keep me playing if i could upgrade players how i chose. you could even go one step further and unlock card skins that are progressively harder to unlock and each one comes with a different dynamic image of that player. just an idea but this games so dead, we need anthing, even a new menu style for the world cup would've been nice, but its shit.

I’m finding these swaps boring as well now. 8 teams needing 6 wins that’s 48 games even if you won every game. Then you have to use these shit expiring cards and it’s the same mode doing the same thing over and over. Same with the moments tab where EA will say we give you live World Cup scenario content from the matches. Yep, as with swaps let’s repeat the same thing over and over and after 100 stars you’ll get a guaranteed 85+ in it and it won’t be a special card it will probably be an 85 gold who’s 5k and you’ve spent 10+ hours to get a 5k card. Awesome. I did that Black Friday pack today for the 50k pack. 83+ guaranteed!!! I got 1 83 who’s less than 1k coins. What is the point?

The idea that EA is attempting to sabotage the FIFA name is kinda a reach in my opinion. The loyal fan base that plays every year and that puts money into fifa points KNOWS the next game is going to be called EA Sports FC or whatever. The casuals are the ones that will be buying FIFA 2K or whatever it will be. Casuals aren't playing much Ultimate Team. I'd argue that anyone playing UT knows that EAS FC is the next game coming with ultimate team, not FIFA. EA is a dumb company, but when it comes to money, they can be pretty smart. Sabotaging the game like this before they lose the FIFA name is a giant risk, because the people that DO play UT MAY not come back to the game because of how poor it has been this year. People that play UT KNOW that EA is what is responsible for UT Being good or bad, not the FIFA name.

Personally I am interested in a new football game, but would still prefer EA to make it. I really don’t want the graphics and gameplay of a 2K brand. The complaint not long ago was that the top cards couldn’t be obtained by a causal player. Right now, you can get Ronaldo for a bit over 100k… but now the complaint is that the market is bottomed out. If you skip SBCs this year and focus on gameplay, just save coins, you can buy any rare gold card you want, except Mbappe (but still obtainable). My favorite idea was to make a FUT champions reward system that rewards real-life prizes such as jerseys, signed items, etc. Early versions of MLB: The Show used to do this. It felt like you were competing for something worth the time spent. The problem with FIFA is that is takes a lot of time to grind, but there is no reward except obtaining a better card, which we all know isn’t worth the effort to get it.

You say this every time.. but where are the league sbcs? Where is the grindable, fun stuff? Icon sbc's are like every year.. They started pretty good. Imo, EA are you using this game to see how far they can push people towards FP. If they are successful EA SPORTS FC will be the same, and if they don’t the FIFA name won’t be theirs anymore so they can distance themselves from it. I’ve purchased every fifa since fifa 08, and this is the first one I’ve missed, and I don’t feel the least bit of regret for it.

For the sbc’s for players from countries expected not to progress , their rating should be higher .. wtf am I gonna do with an 85 rated Australian CB that won’t get upgraded and I can’t link to anyone .. the event section has been dead since the start of the game .. my packs are horrible .. it’s so hard to get a walkout if you’re a FTP player even when opening the same value packs as the ones in the store.

This is the first time since 2002 that I have not bought a FIFA game, world cup and euro games included and honestly, I do not regret it at all. £80 during a cost of living crisis for a game that doesn't evolve, the customer is never valued and the game never feels as good as it could. I mean. We can complain, and talk about getting new cards from other nations and fun cards from Saudi or Japan etc. But people will not use them anyways. Everyone just using the meta and boring standard team anyway, and I feel that is whats killing the game. I dont think ill ever see the Klaasen or the other showdown cards in the opponents team. It is just the same team every time, and what people really want is packs. I would love a cool Saudi card, but then we are 5% who would complete it and use it. Ofc they wont give out a lot of stuff nobody uses. But they know people will do packs.

as someone who because of life style is now considered a casual. It is tough to be excited about the game. While I like that theres enough to do to make me feel accomplished (i.e objectives, silver stars), it just feels like there is too much to do and hard to know whats worth prioritizing anymore.

EA hasn't cared about FIFA for years now. The content has been the same generic stuff over and over. The gameplay is terrible, and even when they did something right then end up doing a patch that makes it worse. These types of critical videos from you tubers have been sparse because it's how they make their money. Now EA are out of the picture everyone will be making vids saying how shit they are. They and all of us in here now are part of the problem of EA not giving a shit though. They pump thousands and thousands of pounds into UT because they know that we'll watch their vids and they'll make the money back. We can talk about EA putting out the same shit game every year but if you go and buy the game knowing that then who's the idiot

With all the negatives fifa has, this is why I play football manager, much more realistic and an entertaining game, despite how graphically Fifa is far superior, there’s just way too much nonsense involved.

I was one of them who said wait until the World Cup started for content but now I'm fully pissed at EA for doing fuck all. Instead of the stupid world cup tab why didn't there make it a collection book, with sbc's you can put your dupe world cup players into to get players to complete your collection book, and when you complete each nation you get a sick card for each nation. They could've turned draft into world cup themed but once again they did nothing with draft.

I don't know if you nep will see my comment, but I'm a hard-core grinder at this game, foundations, I've done all of them most objectives are done. I'm with anyone who agrees fodder is poor, it is and that's it we need league sbcs and that's it, rare gold markets are dead, silver cards mostly are dead, the bronze pack method yes it works but it's the only one that works. In order to get packs you ha e to play an insane amount of games, multiple friendlies, squad battles objectives some require 20 games on top of rivals grind and fut champs grinds currently if you want a top team you wither need pack luck or put money into the game and that's it, they are driving you to spend money if you don't want to grind as much and it's actually shocking the direction it's taking I'm tempted to down tools at this point because this isn't enjoyable, even fortnites content is better and cod is know releasing better content aswell this game needs something fast before others like myself just simply down tools

Not trying to put anyones comment down, but guys like inception, runthefutmarket and stallion have been saying this for years, they have always been the first content creators to look out for the community when there is a problem - example when peoples accounts were getting hacked. Now everyone else is deciding to jump on the same bandwagon for a game that has been trash for 4 years. If there was no world cup, most content creators would be quiet and thats facts.

The big EA titles have dropped off, acros FIFA & Madden, its the same content year after year - forget the name of the title, call it EA Sports 23 and it follows the same downward pattern

You know what bugs me is the fact you and others sit and complain about EA but you still play the game all day and still fund into the game by buying fifa points. I havent put any money into fifa in over 2 years, only cash I spend is for the game itself. Stop buying fifa points or stop complaining because your not helping the problem.

This same video gets made about madden every year. Same small team working on the current game. However, one year there was an amazing chiefs rams game and they did a full surprise content drop to commemorate the game. They also changed TOTW so we don’t get 5 Fede Valverdes in the first month

I’ve stopped playing ultimate team already. I literally can’t Improve my team anymore unless I get a massive icon in a pack. Champs rewards are bad. World Cup cards are useless. Do yourself a favour like me and play pro clubs and you’ll have a good time

People won’t agree with me, but I played for the game play when the lengthy meta was around. I played like 200 games with crouch. I loved using tall players that would be useless usually. But now it’s buchannan running in behind. The game was already bad but they made it worse

They seem to want to make everything way too competitive instead of enjoying, putting a limited number of games on anything automatically makes people use broken mechanics and awful drop back tactics because they’re then desperate for the wins. I could give them countless amount of things to put in the game to improve gameplay and menus but they don’t care, they just care about what will make them money

I honestly didnt play gameplay for a week or more. I just buy fodder when its low and make a ton of coins that way. I complete the objective cards in a low division and thats it. I go to CoD. Sad

i bought a whole xbox series literally just for fifa 23. and since its come out id rather play grounded or hitman. they literally do not care about this game. i enjoyed the whole lengthy thing just so i could use players like crouch and players that i couldnt before but they took that away after a couple weeks.absolute spaniels are running this game and its past a joke now.
