Still think we made the right decision tossing him for Jacob’s and drafting Lloyd. Sad to see him go because he was great for us for years but he’s starting to slow down sadly and higher risk for injury.
Jacob’s has the skill set to become a better RB at the end of his career than Aaron Jones. It’s hard to find an RB that’s both a power back and finesse back and he is both. Jones was only a finesse back.
As much as it hurts to see Aaron Jones leave, it’s also understandable to get more younger which we already are and hopefully JJ and Lloyd can be great for us this year
What I love about Dillon is that he WANTS TO BE A PACKER FOR LIFE!!! Heard him say he dgaf if he had to be the long snapper to stay, he would!!! Now we need all 53 like that!!!
Runningback was quietly a need for Green Bay entering the 2024 NFL draft, and Brian Gutekunst recognized it. The Packers were far less efficient on the ground anytime Aaron Jones left the game last season, and Brian Gutekunst wasn’t willing to risk the same thing happening when Josh Jacobs is off the field. Marshawn Lloyd replaces some of the qualities the Packers will miss without Aaron Jones. MarShawn Lloyd adds more speed and athleticism to Green Bay’s running game and is tough to bring down in the open field. “MarShawn Lloyd offers an explosive skill set and solid vision, which should fit in nicely in Matt Lafluer’s multiple run scheme. MarShawn Lloyd tallied 47 missed tackles and 14 runs of 15-plus yards in 2023,” writes Trevor Sikkema of PFF. Marshawn Lloyd’s style complements what our Green Bay Packers have with Josh Jacobs and AJ Dillion giving our Green Bay Packers one of the deepest running back rooms in the league. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
33 was so good down the stretch last season! But he is getting up there and he does get injured a lot. Can't have enough depth, so the Pack is looking decent at RB
Aaron Jones played himself. That’s the reality. If he played for $1m less, he would have made that up being a fan favorite after his career was over. But he cashed out to a net loss. The real story here is an athlete getting advice from an agent who does not have their long term financial wellbeing in mind. The agent doesn’t get royalties on post career bookings.
the packers not only acted in good faith, they put forward a great offer to be part of a great team. The packers would have loved to have him, he said no. And the packers moved on as they needed to do. And then jones complained about it. wearing purple is a no-go - I have a Greg Jennings autographed helmet. The helmet is worth more without his signature because he wore purple. That’s the reality.
@@bripa3890 when’s the last time you saw Greg Jennings at a Packers event since he left? 12 years have passed and he might just be getting back in good graces if he’s lucky. I know I still haven’t worn my Jennings jersey since.
@@Ste743 thats because greg jennings doesnt want to. Greg jennings has disparaging things to say about the packers and didnt seem to enjoy his time here. If he wanted to come back, we would welcome him. Once a packer, always a packer. Except Darren sharper. We don't talk about him
Nope! He hasn’t earned anything from me yet! He is replacing pretty much the best running back that Green Bay ever had, and after returning from his injury was pretty much playing at his best. Make that make sense…
@@kurtisbro28 I certainly don’t disagree. Of course we all have our opinions, I think they should’ve stuck with Jones for one more year. Yes he was getting injured, but no one can predict the future. Perhaps he would not have been injured this year at all? He was a downright beast, those last few games! And as far as running backs go, Jacobs is already nearing the end of his career statistically anyway. and his stats dropped significantly last year. but we’ll see! I hope for the best! Football season can’t come soon enough!
Jones was a great Packer player and PR for the team. He is on the other side of 30, coming off of missing 1/3 of a year.... I thought GB asked him to take too much of a hit, but it's a business.
the money he wanted and the play time he was able to give was 50 50. him missing much of his games on little quad injuries and thats not breaking or taring a ligament. that a big concern and being how young the team is.... you can't slow these young guys down and make them wait for Aaron to get right. the best thing was to move and bring in a younger player for less money that is gonna be there and grow with the players.
Well yeah…it cost the Packers wins because Jobes were hurt! I had Jones on my fantasy football league with my 2nd pick and it cost me the championship. I still love Jones and will follow him. Go Packers!! 😊
GB's offer was more incentive based than what Minnesota gave him. Both are technically 7 mil per year but Jones will make more in Minnesota even if he doesn't hit the incentives. It's not a significant difference though
Maybe so but it’s principle…. He did enough for this franchise to earn more than that… I would’ve given him 8 easy and have him Jacobs and Dillon but I also understand why we let him go… even though it sucks cause he was a GAME CHANGER FOR US when he played!!! A LEADER and a phenomenal MAN!!!
He felt some type of Way and went to the Vikings it’s ok we’ll see him twice a year he’ll prove us right or wrong he missed a lot games with injury we 4:44 did what we had to do what we had to do……so do y’all think he’ll play a full season??? That’s the big question it ain’t production
