Leon Russel, the writer of the song, watched Whitney's performance of it and was so moved that he wrote an appreciation letter to Whitney Houston after seeing her welcome home heroes concert.
Whitney just had a god given talent. She knew how to use every aspect of her range with superior quality. It’s not fair to the other female artist for her to be that dang phenomenal. There are performances of her singing where you could tell she was sick but she knew exactly how to make it seem effortlessly. Let’s talk about her head voice, yeah it never left her, even at the end her head voice was angelic. There’s an audio of her singing He, I Believe in 1990 in Japan and her head voice is so piercing and resonant that it’s almost frightening. This woman, the lady, this vocalist, this icon, this legend was born to sing. The Voice.
Whitney Elizabeth Houston always takes you on an epic journey filled with true Heart & Soul and touches every single Emotion you can/should feel with her 'out of this world' Voice! *Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a once in human existence miracle/gift that must be cherished for our future* *generations to hear and see what true greatness and vocal divinity sounds and looks like!* There never has been a singer like Whitney before her and there will never be one like her again!
Whitney is untouchable. She has notes and vocal runs that are from heaven and her vibrato is God's gift to us all. Please let her climactic moments play out before you react. Then rewind it. I love how you can sing also to explain what you hear. You do a wonderful job ❤️
Its so emotional and soulful performance. She really meant it very soulful performances that she had. What a great singer who can deliver what the messege of the song and connect to the audience. ❤
Back in the day I LITERALLY would get suspended from school for beating people up for saying something bad about Whitney. I felt like (and still do) EVERYONE knew how much I loved Whitney, so if you said something negative about her you were disrespecting me too!...so we had to fight (smh) LOL. On the flip side tho, if you liked/loved Whitney and really appreciated her, we could be the best of friends because Whitney has ALWAYS meant so much to me!...so if you loved her too we had THE most important thing in common so you MUST be cool, lol!!! I say all that to say that I LOVE your overall appreciation for Whitney!!!!!!! I can tell that you are super-cool (ya energy is DOPE)! I feel like we bout to be BFF's cuz I'm bout to watch more of your Whitney Reaction videos while I sip!!! LOL
Marcus Ward thank you! ♥️and I have to respect it! Whitney forced me to every time she opened her mouth. Nothing but admiration and respect for her and that voice

❤ This is my favorite Era of Whitney it was around 8th grade for me just before the Body Guard . I had this concert on VHS tape and played the hell out of it rewinding my favorite parts and singing at the top.of my lungs . I especially love this era because for me she was all ours just before the marriage, move and baby . I know it's a bit selfish but her voice had the right amount of sharpness and depth it was at it's full maturity in my opinion . The "I'm your baby tonight "era is Golden . This concert is my favorite . Thank.you for your reaction to this .
braxxon her voice during IYBT was velvety and rich like bodyguard but also can be bright as heck like Whitney Houston era. And her melisma and creativity during this era reminds me so much of MYIYL era Whitney. She was just an absolute BEASTTT in this era
I think this performance is the best version of this beautiful song. Incredible voice, musicality, stage presence, very touching. and your reaction is great. thanks to react. so sweet. sorry for my english I am brazilian.

Michelle Miller yes, Whitney’s head voice literally gets high jacked by some celestial because it sounds like the heavens descended upon us lol but thank you!! ❤️
Listen, I was laying down but I literally had to stand up. Her voice lifted me from my bed 😂 She ain't have to snatch my Wig, Real hair, Edges, Scalp, eyebrows & soul like that..smh LAWD! *UNREAL!* I miss & love her so much man #THEGOAT!
Thank You for reviewing this one. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this rendition of A SONG FOR YOU song by Whitney Houston! 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤 This version vs that remixed one on her last Album is simply the BEST! Nobody can sing this like Whit and hold those long azz notes...OMG! Cause My Love is in there Deep!!!!! Who else can do that!???? RIP Sweet Nippy! 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤🎤🎤🎤🎤
@@lordvoldemort5725 C5 ran into D5s at the end..the adlibs at the end are higher and she held the line and ran it into head voice.. It is crazy! the melissma and agility
I read a cool story on her main fan website. According to his wife, the late Leon Russell, the very successful musician and writer of this song, wrote directly to Whitney after listening to this performance live on HBO to express his admiration of her rendition. Apparently, the wife claimed he had never done anything like that before.
I’m loving these considered reactions. One of my favourite performances is ‘In Return’. ‘The Greatest Love Of All’ at Arista Records 15th anniversary is possibly her best performance though it’s a tough call.
Two generations of veterans (WW II and Iraq/Afghan) were greeted with respect and called "heroes." Two other generations of veterans (Korea and VIetnam) were ignored or greeted with hostility.

Whitney is actually crying tears here too and it's probably due to her personal life she had a few miscarriages sadly and she still would work, she sacrificed so much for the world that I couldn't imagine having to be out on stage doing shows while going through that. When people talk shit about her it lets me know they have no clue how much this beautiful angel suffered in life, she was nothing but absolute 💕 love. I'm happy to see her getting the respect and dignity she deserves and hopefully our society stop treating people like her as if she's not a human being with a life and feelings.
