HaHa Micha beat boxing !!!! Great video, i know u flew the robinson ton of CFI hours and now the cabri, but as he said trained properly not a issue, i think that is perfect answer sums it up all nice and quick, ex; robinsons are safe and fun to fly if properly trained to fly them,just like fenstron tail rotors .

R22 IFR student here… Sounds like even though the fenestrons may not be a problem, the traditional tail rotors offer an extra cushion of tail rotor authority?

It really depends on the particular helicopter. I fly both an Enstrom 280FX (traditional tail rotor) and an EC120 (Fenestron) and there's no significant difference in tail rotor effectiveness or pedal movement. Other than the rotor turning the opposite direction, so in the Enstrom, the "power pedal" is the left pedal, in the EC120 it's the right pedal.

Since the fenestron spins faster under power, then during an autorotation you would lose tail rotor authority since at slower rotor speed the fenestron would also spin at lower rpm reducing tail rotor effectiveness

I do wonder if Mischa is just shilling the Hill HX50 at this point, just like he seemed to do on the G2 when he initially started using it... given he sells them in Canada I often take a lot of these videos he makes with a pinch of salt given he has an incentive to talk-up things if he is financially invested in them...
