I wear hijab, burkha and covered my face and I love it , it makes me so confidence... When I go out wear it I noticed that everyone try to give me space and respect..... Islam never ever support on pressurised in anyone.... Well explained by the sister but I wanna add two more points that the head covering is called headscarf and it's part of the hijab not whole hijab. Black colour is preferable because black colour gets unnoticed as compared to bright colours. The purpose of Hijab is not to attract people while as the bright colours attract attention of people.

The reason black colour is preferable for burqa is because if the burqa is little less loose then black is the best option to cover the body shape as the colour goes lighter, body shape will be more recognizable where it is not so loose. Also as the colour goes light it became more transparent when it gets wet example in rain. White becomes almost transparent.
First of all couldn’t hear the lady sitting with you , her voice was very low , so couldn’t find out her point of view, then miss ramsha says that you can wear any colour , true, but keep in mind that the main purpose of wearing hijaab means a barrier , so a brrier should not be too attractive to nullify the main purpose of it , e.g if you see a gift rapped in very attractive n beautiful colour then never mind gift you keep watching the rapper n ultimately want to unbox the gift . Burka is more like a cultural thing. Muslim women should just dress up loosely n modestly in front of strangers, and wearing a burka or Abaya is not necessary.

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. No its actually their choice brother.. Smjo.. They're not Muslims they might feel like listening to Quran might harm their faith.. Just as wr restrict ourselves from listening to anything against Oneness of Allah and Holy Prophet saw. Eg when in any bollywood movie / drama bhajan comes do we listen to it? NO. I will give u an example if u will see the two ladies one is fully covered and another is in western dress code whom u will get attracted much......?that is y itz compulsory to wear hijab inorder to avoid cases like rape ,negative intention, attraction, etc
