Iain (Fitz) and Nick (Hunter) are really good friends in real life. The best way to work out what is happening in Iain’s life is to follow Nick.

This is the episode where I decided I liked Hunter, rough around the edges as he may be. Watching him be friends with Fitz warmed my heart.

Especially knowing the actual reason, Fitz thinking Simmons left because she didn't return his feelings always gets me 😭😭😭 But Fitz and Hunter's friendship is great!

Think of it this way, Coulson is basically trying to make a Last Will and Testament kinda thing if things start going the way of Garrett. They only have 3 examples of people getting the GH formula and one of them went cuckoo-bananas right after and started carving the symbols. Now he's carving those same symbols and can't really stop himself, so he's, while he is still of sound mind, making a plan. Like someone else said, he's not saying kill me now, he's saying if they don't figure out how to stop it and he goes the way of Garrett, May is the one that needs to stop him. That's all. I'm sure he'd say, "Hey, I'm not there YET, so don't get any ideas about offing me just yet." He's not "convinced" he will go the way of Garrett. Coulson is very clear-headed and, like Fury, tends to think of contingency plans.

It wasn't just Garrett that went so crazy, it was everybody that took the GH stuff, and it was Coulson that was in charge of that project and recommended it be shut down. So he is right to be nervous to about what is coming, though he is jumping to conclusions about how bad or evil it might get. So we do have a number of ongoing storylines, yet still having most episodes with a mostly contained plot. But the story is starting to fall into place, and the season is starting to catch your attention. Raina, Whitehall, the drawings, Skye, and now we've thrown in the facemasks introduced in _Winter Soldier._ And of course, the most important plotline of the series, Fitzsimmons -- can Fitz really move on, and how will Simmons react to him doing so.

The elevator scene is also where Gregg and Wen, both of who were notorious pranksters on set, pulled off an all time classic. The doors open and... they're engaged in a heavy make out session. The fight scene was a fan favorite. Only surpassed by the now legendary onesy (one take) fight scene Chloe Bennett pulls off later in the series.

_Annndd_ * new 'ship unlocked * :). Yep, the season's really starting to roll by this point. Fitz making progress (loved Hunter just immediately being on his side over Jemma, as per the mates rulebook), the season arc threads becoming clearer etc. Good episode. Also, as awkward as May surely felt, Ming Na Wen wore the hell out of that dress (unlikely as it sounds, at this point she'd have been a month or two shy of her _51st_ birthday !?).

I think one of the many reasons Garrett went nuts faster was, well first he was already a bit of an unstable personality. Couple that with a synthetic form of GH-325, and since he was the first Deathlok and probably experimented with the Centipede serum (and we even saw in Mike how it made him a little nuts), AND Garrett not getting TAHITIed... Yeah, that's all probably why he went nuts so quickly. But as others said, Coulson is all about contingencies. He's slowly losing control and being the Director of SHIELD, he knows he can't be compromised. What's funny is he's essentially putting May in the position Fury assigned her to originally when the team started... She picked Ward to help put Coulson down if he went crazy. Except this time, it wouldn't be Ward but May herself. Hunter is the best. I imagine you're way ahead like most reactors but I wish they had more interaction.

Love watching this with you this season is one of my favorites I'm a died hard fan of all things Marvel.I was so happy they came up with this idea of bringing my one of my favorite characters back I was devastated when we lost him in the Avengers. Season 3 is awesome.

I remember really enjoying the May vs. May fight, back in the day. Complete with skimpy clothing. The carved symbols mystery was not a favorite of mine. Whitehall is just starting to show how scary he can be.
