💬Of course, I couldn’t pass over Blondie and will be including more from them. The “Making of” is back and includes an amazing acoustic version of the song Debbie did in 2002 (link in description). ENJOY! My next project is a classic rock ballad from the mid 1980s. One of those songs I loved the first 10 seconds of hearing (affectionately known as a 10 second song) and it seems that others feel the same way. There are a TON of amazing reactions to it. It’s definitely a shower, not a grower. 😅 ONTO THE NEXT! 💜
Does anyone else experience a nostalgia overload watching some of these videos? No one ever told me that nostalgia and regret would be so powerful when I got old.
It is so lovely to see people fall in love with their music too… brings back such good memories. We have been so lucky to have grown up from the 60ties, the music, the freedom …
My brother bought me my first record album when i was 10. It is a Top 20 compilation. Doany memories. Haven't seen my brother in over 30years. Nostalgia and regret.
Awesome!!! Omg I needed some Blonde today!! Thank you Ms Wondermomma ❤❤❤ You're so Good at this & I look everyday at your channel!! Keep it going beautiful 😍
Momma, imagine a 12 year old little kid who till seeing Blondie was in love with football. I was blown away. She was the presttiest thing I ever saw at that time. 🤣🤣 God bless you for those awkward memories. And Lord yea, they were awkward
The legend herself, Ms Debbie Harry...Love the uniqueness of her voice. U could not, not dance in the clubs. Never heard the acoustic version, love it. I really love a raw jam session. Thanx so much, darlin', hope all is well. Peace
Debbie Harry! Love her! I danced through the whole thing! So...Heart of Glass is a metaphor for lost love but also a metaphor for the superficiality of disco! That's the bit of punk in her and this song that i absolutely LOVE! Thank you again Wondermomma 💓 A great song by a beautiful woman who is often overlooked! Love her voice and always will...another fun trip down my life playlist! ❤🎉😊
1980.. eight years old.. Tide is High was one of the first songs in my life where I'd actually pay attention and listen when it came on the radio... and look forward to hearing it again.
Love this song, love the reactions. Now, if you collect reactions to their “Rapture,” that’d be worth seeing! It’s usually a collection of “What?! Is she rapping? Is this a rap song?” The FIRST rap song to hit #1! The video is killer, most shot in one continuous take.
THAT will be the very next Blondie song I do. In fact, I REALLY had a hard time deciding between this one and that one. It's literally taken me months of thinking about it. 😅
It's an a amazing video, Momma! Debbie Harry and Blondie were legends itself! Thank you very much for the comp and i'll watch this acoustic version, I didn't know her before! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Debbie Harry….sigh. What a flashback. She was a legend. I’ve seen some mention it but it’s always the biggest tid bit to this song. It was as much a response to disco as it sounded like disco. Lol
Debbie Harry! You either wanted to be her or be with her. Pure talent and sexual energy. But let's not forget the drumming of Clem Burke. His back-beat and hi-hat is genius. Incredibly talented musician who went on to work with everyone from Pete Townsend to Bob Dylan. Great reaction vid!
It’s weird watching people react to songs I’ve heard a million times…I’m just glad people are willing to open their minds to different genres. So much material to go through
And she's an awesome actress, too! (Go back and watch her story arc in the old Wiseguy series. Had Glenn Frey, too. And the immortal Tim Curry. But that's another story for another time.) Ninth grade rears its ugly head once again, and I remember that the best thing about that year was the music. Blondie was no small part of that. There was nothing but hits on that record and there's a reason this is still in rotation 45 years later. (F. I am *old*.) Cute chick, relatable lyrics, and a beat that forces me to give at least one star to "disco". (It wasn't completely awful. You just had to pick the right bands.) I usually hit the #TrashTalkers for Tool, but seeing #6 bopping along was EXACTLY what I needed on a Monday. (And #Smokey, you don't want to go to a disco, you want to go to a disco that *was*.) This one made me feel like I was crowd surfing-just rolling along on the enjoyment of the younger generation. When I first bought this album in 1978, it was blue vinyl. (A reference to the "blue, blue neon glow" in the song "Fade Away and Radiate") A half century later, the CD, regrettably not blue, is in my car. Looking forward, "A shower, not a grower"? You have my attention. Thanks, #Momma!
Our countries adopted daughter from America. Oh to have been a fly on the wall when she was hanging out with David Bowie and Iggy Pop. You will always be welcome in the UK.
🤩👍💥💯🎼 Quite hard to believe this came out 1978, except the pure and clean "disco - beat" reveals in which era this classic is from. Sound - wise still works like a clock. Nicely done mi lady MommaOGWonderMomma!!! 🤘😎💙🎶
I ain't going to let you know she's a cutie pie and yeah two of her biggest songs are in a lot of movies this one and call on me you hear him on every TV show and movies every time I hear call on me I think of Bride of Chucky and of course Deuce Bigalow because you know how he's driving up to deuce in that car and that song comes on so yeah she's she's beautiful iconic and you those two iconic songs you hear in a lot of movies❤
Thats one of smoothest sickest choruses ever. The way it just glides into your ears never gets old. Great song. I remember getting so excited as a kid when it would come on the radio.
New Order is on my list. As is Tom Petty... but most likely will start with my all time favorite Petty song... Breakdown. But I will put that one on the list to for future.
I can't let this video, which is very well done btw, pass without mentioning the producer of the song, Georgio Moroder. As much as this song maintains that groovy disco feel, it also has elements that would later resurface in the 90's in EDM. I was around when it came out and Blondie were instantly a favorite of mine, especially over the course of their next few albums. Well done.
Debbie Harry was a Playboy bunny in NYC for 3 years and afterwards a model before she formed Blondie! You can see how she easily qualifies for those positions! She has the “look”!😄😎👍
Hi Momma ❤! I can’t keep using the word “masterpiece” so I’ll say joy. This one is a joy to watch. I so enjoy your huge effort to put this all together. Just miss the sound of dual 3/4” Sony U-Matics clunking and cranking as they edit together the video tape. Ahhhh the golden days. Oh I used a razor blade too but only on audio tape. The reactions are priceless for sure. It’s all pure joy but with different flavors. I’m still building the library for Tori’s newest song with another to drop any day. When I watch the reactions and I see the mouth dropping and eyes wide open and locked, I think of you and say. Ahhhh Momma will love this. Even if you never do one, it’s in my mind and I’m seeing the results in my head. It’s just magical. At least this one has nobody stroking out. Just shock and awe. That’s much less stress on me. I don’t want to kill any reactors. The guilt would kill me! Keep on keeping on! You are magical! Joe
Thank you! Are you suggesting a Tori Amos compilation? Would Father Lucifer be in your top 5 favs? I need to do some checking on which of her songs have more reactions to them. I love Tori Amos. She's another I would classify as "special".
@@WonderMommaOG no, another… Tori Holub and We’ve Only Just Begun. I mentioned her in a previous. She’s “New” but Wings of Pegasus just did 2 episodes on her and this song cover. No autotune nor pitch correction. You don’t do reactions you’re looking at the reactions. So here’s the song and you can imagine what’s going on. Oh I try to get reactors that are familiar with and have done Carpenters. Then I get a special joy watching heads explode but no strokes, don’t want those. I’m 68 and an OG Carp fan. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J95lfJqo9VY.htmlsi=eDpc4Eq8g-zb_iaI
@@jbs256 Ok, sorry about that. Can you do me a favor? I will be posting a community page message at some point in the future looking for new music to react to if I start my own reaction channel. Could you remind me again about her so I can include the specific links you're giving me? I would appreciate it even thought you'd be repeating the info a third time. 😅😅
@@WonderMommaOG it would be my pleasure. If you haven’t looked at this then I’ll do this. If not then, by then there will be another song or two. Jim and Tori are producing. I’m Fb friends w/Jim. He friended me and my head exploded. He saw I was getting the reactions. Tori is too but I know she’s got stuff to do and give her, her space. Jim and I are of similar age and can relate. Am I correct you are more than familiar with Carpenters? I think you said something sometime earlier. Joe
@@jbs256 Thank you so much. Yes, I am quite familiar with The Carpenters but only their most famous songs, unfortunately. They are another band I want to explore sometime in the future.
Love some Blondie! Debra Harry is the first female rapper and the first rapper to EVER have a video on MTV. But for me I also remember Debra from two horror movies. She played a witch in Tales From the Darkside in which she’s got a young man trapped and is gonna cook him and he offers to tell her scary tales to stay alive, it’s a horror play of 1001 Arabian Nights. Then she was in one of David Cronenberg’s masterpieces with James Woods called Videodrome. Weird but great movie. As per usual nice job OG!
YAY!!! **WonderMommaOG** THIS is ONE of the **Funnest** ones **Exceptional** **Luvit** Thank **You** for all the work ya put into these once again!!! Ya **Rock** **PixieHugz&LuvzALL**
What a treat momma ❤...thank you....the acoustic version is absolutely divine 💖..I was 15 when this was released...was really into zeppelin alice cooper the who....but also really loved blondie....did I have a crush on Debbie Harry...I was 15...yeah....I also really liked abba...probably the most perfect pop band....ever....xx
*YOU'RE SO FREAKIN' AWESOME TO COMPILE ALL OF THESE IN SUCH AMAZING QUALITY! WHAT A FUN AND EXCITING VIDEO! MY FAVORITE SONG AND FAVORITE BAND OF ALL-TIME! THANK YOU FOR THE SURPRISE PRESENT!*
I've seen a lot of reactions to this song, and not a single person mentioned changes of a time signature during the keyboard solo. What kind of listeners are these people?
Blonde, massive in the UK, the ultimate fusion band. Combined punk with everything. Go to the Blondie cafe, what's on the menu, punk with everything, disco, rap, new wave et al. Brilliant band.
